In front of these watchtowers, there were countless massive trenches crisscrossing the landscape, and the large, wide trenches were filled with muddy water.
Rows of spiked chevaux-de-frise and sheets of thorny iron nets almost enclosed the entire defense system, while dark presences of magic traps lurked faintly in the gaps between them, creating a nearly impregnable defensive line that even flying birds couldn't pass through.
