Chapter 6 - Chapter 4: Monster Village

Hang Yu pulled out the map of Descent Forest from his memory bank.

First, they compared roughly to determine their position, estimated the nearby monster types, distributions, and habits, then set off with a few others.

He acted like an experienced hunter, capable of deducing the surroundings through subtle traces.

Several times they narrowly avoided dangerous monsters.

After several close calls with death,

the other three finally realized that the forest was much more dangerous and teeming with monsters than they had imagined!

If it weren't for an experienced guide, they wouldn't know how many times they'd have died already, with no repeats in the ways they'd perish.

Do you think possessing superpower-like skills means you can easily survive?

Dream on!

Their current situation was akin to a young, passionate man, sharing a bed with a group of beauties from a heavenly realm!

Thus, keeping their pants on was an extraordinarily challenging task.

"Stop!"

When Hang Yu pushed aside the large, broad-leaf plant blocking their view,

they discovered a small jungle village in the basin ahead.

Inside the jungle village were a dozen or so mud and grass huts exuding an exotic civilization vibe, and the creatures moving nearby were not humans; they were the green-skinned humanoid monsters they had encountered not long ago.

Zhao Ming asked in confusion, "Have we reached the monsters' lair?"

Jiang Nan and Zhang Xiaoqiang were quite startled; the ferocity and terrifying nature of the green-skinned monsters were still fresh in their minds!

Now they were so close to the green-skinned monsters' village, certainly within their activity range, and might have already been targeted, ready at any moment for a sudden arrow to pierce through, or a club to smash their brains.

They felt as if the jungle was filled with venomous snakes.

Deadly threats were everywhere, inducing a strong sense of crisis.

Jiang Nan's heart pounded heavily, her clear voice a bit trembling, "Judging by the village's size, there could be dozens of monsters living here, it's too dangerous!"

"Damn! Dozens? Then what are we doing here? Let's hurry up and run away!"

Hang Yu couldn't help but disdainfully look at the cowardly Zhang Xiaoqiang.

When this kid first received his skills, his arrogance knew no bounds, and now how much time had passed?

His courage was perhaps like a deflated rubber doll, which, even if blown up once with great effort, couldn't last for long when needed.

However, even Zhao Ming thought it was too dangerous here.

Going into such a place, isn't that seeking death?

There were just four of them combined!

But Hang Yu said earnestly, "What I'm looking for is precisely this kind of unexplored low-level base. If we can take down this base, there could be great future development benefits as a reward, so we should be grateful for discovering such a place so easily."

This guy came looking for it on purpose?

Is he sure his brain is still functioning normally!

After listening, Zhao Ming frowned and asked, "You think we can take it down here?"

"It's enough. Don't be scared by the numbers. The brains of low-level goblins are about the same as mentally challenged children, so dealing with them is very simple, just break them down one by one, batch by batch." Hang Yu gestured toward the village ahead, "You'll notice if you observe closely that the goblins' activity paths are traceable!"

"The small village mainly has the Goblin Gatherers and Patrol Soldiers, two kinds of goblins we've already dealt with."

"Goblin Patrol Soldiers are equipped with short swords and short crossbows, possessing some ranged attack abilities. Goblin Gatherers carry sturdy wooden sticks, with considerable strength and close combat ability."

"Goblin Patrol Soldiers have a very large activity radius, usually wandering in threes and twos in nearby woods, while Goblin Gatherers have a smaller activity radius, gathering in groups of four or five in nearby shrubs."

The three stared intently and began to observe.

The forest was really dense, with countless bushes and flowers in the tropical jungle, trying to identify these green-skinned little guys amidst the jungle was no less difficult than spotting differences in a game.

God knows how Hang Yu discerned these!

"During the day, goblins are active outside the village. At night, they gradually return to the settlement, and there should still be a bit of time before nightfall. We must eliminate all the goblins quickly."

"First, circle to the periphery to target the Goblin Patrol Soldiers. Goblins aren't strong; with good coordination, our strength should easily handle them."

Zhang Xiaoqiang felt somewhat hesitant, "Are you sure... it's really feasible?"

"Listen, since you've been forced into the game, you have to bravely play it. If you don't take the initiative to attack, you'll be passively beaten. You can't be a coward, you can only do it. You must overcome this hurdle!" Hang Yu said bluntly, "Of course, if anyone doesn't want to go, I'm not forcing you, just leave on your own."

Are you sure you're not messing with us?

Who knows how many green-skinned monsters are lurking around.

We might not walk a few steps before our pants are lost.

Bringing us to such a place and yet telling us to leave by ourselves?

Jiang Nan was utterly terrified, but Hang Yu's calm, composed, even light-hearted tone while speaking gave her a sense of security, making him seem quite reliable, and she softly said, "I think it's better if we all stick together."

"Right!" Uncle Zhao was the most adventurous instead, "At worst, we lose our pants; we might as well take a chance, there might be good rewards."

Facing the three pairs of eyes, Zhang Xiaoqiang was on the verge of tears; what else could he do?

Though terrified to the point of nearly peeing his pants, he dared not leave alone.

In the end, he had no choice but to reluctantly show his stance.

"Boss, I'll leave these big pants to you then!"

Hang Yu locked onto a group of three goblins on the periphery.

These were three Goblin Patrol Soldiers, and three crossbows firing simultaneously was quite dangerous; even Hang Yu wasn't confident in evading them, so in such situations, they had to rely on the team's strength.

Hang Yu began to command: "Uncle Zhao, open your shield and charge in first to draw their fire, but always remember not to stand still, run around the trees and stones, dodge agilely, seductively, got it? Not even your shield can withstand several shots!"

"Okay, I'll be as seductive as I can."

Zhao Ming, this tech billionaire in the real world, nodded awkwardly.

At my age,

is it really okay to be so cheeky?

Hang Yu continued, "I'll rush out the moment the goblins' attention is drawn, Xiaoqiang will immediately cast Fireball then, attack any one of them, but aim precisely; as long as we take out one of them, the other two will be easier to deal with."

And that's it.

Jiang Nan wasn't assigned any tasks.

While she felt a bit relieved for not having to risk herself, she simultaneously felt very despondent; it only proved she was really helpless.

Zhao Ming played the role of starting the fight.

This was equivalent to the tank role in a game.

Rushing in first undoubtedly required great courage, along with sufficient trust in teammates… seeing the trembling Zhang Xiaoqiang, Zhao Ming immediately felt half dispirited.

Damn it!

We're going to get screwed!

Not afraid of a god-like opponent,

only afraid of pig-like teammates.

This loser didn't seem reliable at all.

Would he screw up at the critical moment?

Zhao Ming glanced at Hang Yu again, seeing him calm and composed, he regained a bit of confidence.

Going all out, even if killed, they wouldn't really die, at most losing a pair of big pants, as long as he comforted himself this way, the fear diminished by a lot.

Hang Yu asked, "Ready?"

Zhao Ming nodded.

Only felt his blood starting to boil.

This feeling was truly nostalgic.

Like when he finally mustered up the courage to confess to his first love back then.

Like when he decided to take an all-or-nothing bet and return to start a business during his career peak.

This feeling of heartbeat, excitement, and adventure grew lesser with age.

Now it seemed as if he was twenty years younger!

Hang Yu was right, this game must be played, and it was an unprecedented gigantic opportunity; how could he shrink back at this moment? Life itself is a game of advance or retreat!

Old Zhao closed his eyes and took a deep breath, and upon reopening them, his gaze had become firm.

"Uncle, remember, move seductively."

"Three, two, one!"

"Action!"
