Chapter 26 - Chapter 24: Ambush in the Shadows, Ruthless Strike (Revised)

At this moment, Luo Feng and Wei Yu were both asleep.

Zhao Ya picked up the small package he prepared during the day and left the room.

Once outside, Zhao Ya found a sheltered corner and opened the package, revealing a set of black clothes.

It was the same outfit Zhao Ya wore when he eradicated the Black Snake Gang before.

Zhao Ya changed into the black clothes, covered his face with a black scarf, and used the Grasshopper Body Technique to silently arrive at a small courtyard behind the inn.

This was where Cheng Jingxue had stayed the day before.

Zhao Ya pushed open the window to enter the room but did nothing, instead he jumped up onto the beam, finding a hidden corner to hide.

Outside, the cold wind howled, the sky was covered with dark clouds, and the moon was completely obscured—a night perfect for killing.

Zhao Ya simply closed his eyes, regulating his breathing and calming his mind.

Time passed by slowly.

Suddenly.

Zhao Ya opened his eyes, a hint of excitement flashing in them.

Just as expected, they came.

Simultaneously, a slight sound of something cutting through the air was heard, and then a shadow landed in the courtyard.

After the shadow landed, it vigilantly examined the surroundings, and after confirming that there was nothing unusual, it skillfully opened the door and entered the room.

After closing the door, the shadow let out a sigh of relief, picked up the teapot on the table, and gulped down some leftover cold tea.

"Damn it, you think you can catch me? You must be dreaming!"

The voice was soft and seductive, indicating a woman.

That's right.

The shadow that returned in the middle of the night was none other than Cheng Jingxue.

She sat happily on the chair, clearly exhausted.

But just a quarter of an hour later, she stood up again, went to the window to observe outside, and after confirming nothing unusual, she went to the bed, removed the bedboard, and began tampering with the floor tiles.

Zhao Ya watched everything from the beam with perfect clarity.

Seeing Cheng Jingxue taking out bricks from under the bed, Zhao Ya knew he had made the right move.

If it were him searching, he would have taken three to five days to find it.

A moment later, Cheng Jingxue squatted down, reached her hand into the hole, and slowly pulled out a long package.

"Heh heh, the fools at Iron Forging Manor could never dream that I hid the Meteorite Iron Saber in the inn."

Cheng Jingxue giggled a few times, placed the package on the table with glee, and began unwrapping it.

Inside was a long saber, the scabbard and handle both pitch-black, but upon closer inspection, one could see fine golden patterns engraved on it, appearing extremely exquisite and understated.

Cheng Jingxue, full of avarice, caressed the long saber before drawing it from its scabbard.

There was no gleam of the blade, for the blade itself was also pitch-black.

Yet somehow, as Zhao Ya stared at the blade, he felt a chill in his eyebrows, a stinging sensation in his eyes.

"Tsk tsk, truly a rare treasure saber. No wonder those guys from Iron Forging Manor chased after me like their ancestral graves were dug up."

Cheng Jingxue marveled, intensely focused on admiring the long saber.

Zhao Ya slightly narrowed his eyes, the prepared short knife smeared with black soot already gripped in his hand.

He slowly adjusted his breathing, his joints and bones compressing like a spring.

Suddenly.

Zhao Ya pushed off with his legs, his entire body shooting downwards like an arrow towards Cheng Jingxue.

Even before his body arrived, the short knife was already thrust out.

The entire process was blindingly fast.

Cheng Jingxue could never have dreamt that someone would be lying in ambush on the beam, she had no time to react as a short knife streaked towards her in mid-air.

Yet she was also a seasoned Martial Artist, and in that critical moment, Cheng Jingxue's heart quivered before she began to laugh.

The smile was seductive, mesmerizing.

This was her usual trump card, even able to interfere with third-level Membrane Forging Martial Artists.

But this time, it failed.

Zhao Ya was unmoved.

Not only this time, even before in the hall, seeing Cheng Jingxue's smile, he felt nothing.

It was then Zhao Ya understood Cheng Jingxue's trump card.

This woman had a means of disrupting people's minds, but for some reason, it had no effect on him.

This gave Zhao Ya immense confidence, allowing him to dare to lie in wait and act boldly.

Seeing her Charm Art failing, Cheng Jingxue's face finally showed fear, abandoning all pretenses, her waist flexed as she leaned back.

With a thud.

Cheng Jingxue lost her balance and fell to the ground, but it was enough to dodge the strike.

But Zhao Ya was prepared for this, shifting the dagger's thrust to a downward slash, aiming it again at Cheng Jingxue's face.

Cheng Jingxue was terrified, too scared to care about her image, rolling desperately to dodge the strike, then shouted.

"Spare me, I am willing to offer the saber."

Before the words were finished, Zhao Ya's short knife was already at her throat, the tip even piercing the skin.

A drop of crimson blood emerged, slowly sliding along her neck into the depths of her bosom.

Cheng Jingxue, still shaken, hurriedly explained: "This heroic warrior, you must be here for the Meteorite Iron Treasure Saber, right? I am willing to offer this saber in exchange for my life."

"Offer the saber?" Zhao Ya coldly laughed with a hoarse and unpleasant voice, "If I kill you, the saber is still mine, why would I need you to offer it?"

Cheng Jingxue's expression stiffened, then she managed to calm herself.

"Warrior, killing me will bring endless trouble!"

"Oh? What trouble?" Zhao Ya asked coldly.

"Firstly, if I die, the people at Iron Forging Manor will know the Meteorite Iron Saber is in your hands, and they will hunt you down, which contradicts your original intention, right?"

After saying this, Cheng Jingxue looked expectantly at the man in black before her, her mind racing.

This person had been lying in wait in the room beforehand, patiently waiting until she took out the saber before acting decisively, showing his firm and steady nature.

Who exactly was he?

Zhao Ya remained silent, then pretended to be swayed as he asked.

"That's a reason. What's the second?"

Cheng Jingxue discreetly exhaled, thinking her life was spared for now.

Then she seductively smiled, thrusting out her chest.

"Secondly...on this long night, in such a secluded room, I'm willing to offer myself to serve the hero!"

Such blatantly seductive words from Cheng Jingxue were immensely tempting.

Cheng Jingxue felt confident that few men could resist her temptation.

And once he showed interest, she planned to seize the chance....

Cheng Jingxue was plotting her counterattack when Zhao Ya's words abruptly interrupted her thoughts.

"No need, someone like you, I'm not interested."

The moment the words fell, the blade flashed, and her head was separated from her body.
