Chapter 15 - Chapter 13: Compensation

Ernado gradually became serious as the surrounding magical power became increasingly intense, creating a somewhat alarming sensation.

In the tense atmosphere, Sabo hesitated for a moment, stepping forward without saying anything before a series of crisp applause suddenly rang out.

Clap clap clap...

This sound abruptly broke the heavy atmosphere. Baiyi turned his head and saw a beautiful woman with red hair entering.

A slight smile graced her elegant face, and the slightly sharp aura emanating from the longsword on her back indicated her profession.

Her tone had a unique accent that carried a noble air, unlike the usual coldness of other swordsmen: "Not bad, Dongwu City truly hides many talents; I'm impressed."

Ernado paused, lowered his head slightly, and softly called, "Big sister."

At this moment, a stream of data appeared on the large screen behind Aileen.

However, before it could display the energy level of the newcomer, a sword mark slashed across the entire screen, scorching arcs of electricity destroyed the precious screen with a faint burnt smell.

Baiyi frowned; this swordsman... is very powerful, even stronger than a mage, and seems to be on the verge of understanding her own sense!

This is a sign of Gold, which means... she is a Silver Peak, Level 50 powerhouse?

"We're here to capture the Scarlet Sect, not to cause trouble. Next time, act with restraint," Kami scolded lightly.

He turned to Baiyi: "Mr. Baiyi, the Scarlet Sect worships the Ancient God, Lord of Scarlet. They are attempting to bring the Lord of Scarlet into Dawn, and you should know what the invasion of Scarlet would mean. So, let's just forget what happened just now, shall we?"

Baiyi's expression softened. After all, they broke in, attempted to kill his employees, and acted as if they owned the place, which would anger anyone.

He nodded, "But Seth has caused me losses that need compensation. As long as the compensation is appropriate, everything will be fine."

"Compensation?" Kami's eyes narrowed slightly, revealing a hint of danger.

Baiyi remained unmoved, his tone softened, "Yes, my employee was frightened. Mental distress compensation is 1000 gold coins, the beautiful lady destroyed my detecting player, worth 3000 gold coins, and this man's life is 2000 gold coins, totaling eight thousand gold coins as compensation."

As soon as he finished speaking, there was a look of shock on everyone's face.

This guy is asking for a lot, but can't he count? 1+2+3 is not equal to 6? How did it become eight thousand?

"Bai..."

Snap~

Just as Kami began to speak, Baiyi snapped his fingers.

Seth, who was showing anger, suddenly turned pale green, collapsing to one knee, and coughed up black blood onto the stone floor.

Sizzle~

The intense corrosive sound eroded the floor into a shallow pit, showing how terrifyingly poisonous he had been afflicted.

Baiyi spoke leisurely, "You have one minute to decide. Oh, by the way, the floor damage in my store now requires a compensation of ten thousand gold coins."

Kami stared deeply at Baiyi, his tone enigmatic, "Aren't you afraid?"

Baiyi leisurely checked the time, "You have forty seconds left. Dongwu City does not belong to your Will Clan."

Kami took a deep breath, turned to look at the frantically consuming antitoxic potion but to no avail Seth, then turned to Erwado, "Give it to him."

"Big sister..."

"Give it to him!" Kami's tone turned indifferent, filled with enough authority that even the cold mage was stunned for a moment.

Perhaps it was bloodline suppression, or maybe level suppression, but Ernado, with a stern face, casually tossed out a Dawn Badge.

Baiyi finally smiled slightly, reached out to take the badge, and checked that it contained exactly ten thousand contribution points, no more, no less.

He put the Demon Hunting Revolver away, and snapped his fingers again.

Snap~

Another worker bee descended from the ceiling, hovered over Seth for a moment, then flew to Baiyi.

Meanwhile, Seth, who had been writhing in agony on the ground, began to breathe heavily, and his greenish-purplish face slowly returned to a healthy red.

He looked at Baiyi with eyes filled with hatred and fear, but ultimately dared not speak a single harsh word, as he had been near death just moments ago.

Kami looked coldly at Baiyi, glanced once at the open passage to the left of the counter, before turning to the doorway.

Ernado mirrored her actions. Even in the territories of other Legislator Clans, they had never been so embarrassed before, but this Alchemist... indeed left a lasting impression.

"Apologies, Mr. Baiyi."

The two Beastman soldiers spoke respectfully before leaving with the Will Clan members, whose safety was their responsibility, to ensure they didn't meet their demise in Dongwu City.

The Legislator is always part of the Federation's highest leadership, so the City Lord must always be cautious.

After everyone had left, Baiyi's smile faded slightly, and he frowned, glancing at the Dwarf hiding in the corner.

He then turned to the Elf girl, who had dropped her icy demeanor and was full of gratitude, and couldn't help but tease her, "Were you dazzled by your boss's charm? But just so you know, the mental distress compensation I mentioned earlier will be confiscated!"

Aileen looked stunned, her watery eyes quickly drying, as she speechlessly stared at her boss, wishing to retort: Where's my gratitude, you jerk?

But ultimately, remembering her boss had just saved her, she only hung her head and said, "It's only fair. Thank you, boss. I'll work hard to earn more money for you in the future."

Baiyi was immediately satisfied, and couldn't help but turn to Sabo, "See, that's a professional employee, much better than a disloyal guy like you."

After he finished, he didn't wait for Sabo to respond before waving his hand dismissively, "You can head to the lounge. Don't leave the store for the next few days, stay for overtime."

Aileen was momentarily stunned but then recalled the looks the two strong individuals gave as they left, her eyes filling with gratitude again, and she softly said, "I understand, boss, thank you."

With that, she darted out from behind the counter, quickly heading towards the lounge next to the reception room on the far left, a room where Baiyi would daze off, his so-called lounge.

Once the hall was empty, worker bees, who had unknown when they had fled, flew back into the folds of Baiyi's trench coat.

"Why have you come looking for me now?"

He and Sabo were mainly in a cooperative relationship, not dependent on each other, so Baiyi was surprised that Sabo had interfered earlier to stop the curse.

Based on the Dwarf's usual behavior, he wouldn't enter the store until the conflict had ended.

Sabo, not moving closer, rubbed his disproportionately small hands together, flashing an awkward smile, "Congratulations on reaching Silver, my friend. I came to check on the Scarlet Sect situation and sensed the aura of the Demon Hunting Revolver, so I came over to have a look."

Baiyi's eyes revealed understanding; Silver Alchemist versus Bronze Alchemist represented a qualitative change, their value shooting up several times over, so it made sense.
