Chapter 184 - Chapter 184 – Training Camp Arrangements

[Whoever made Max verstappen win, thank you. Here's your extra chapters]

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

During the two days when the horse girls rested, Kitahara and the other trainers were even busier.

The exchange competition had been the first time in Eisei Academy's history that they had faced international competitors, and the data from that experience held tremendous importance.

From past experience, analyzing competition data immediately afterward was crucial—right when everyone still had fresh impressions and new ideas sparked by the race. This was why they needed to "organize while the heat is still hot."

In addition to processing the data, the training camp was coming in just over half a month. Decisions such as the location, schedule, lodging reservations, and facility preparations all needed to be discussed in advance.

And beyond that, they needed contingency training plans for various conditions, along with detailed race scheduling.

These kinds of comprehensive planning meetings were normally organized solely by members of Eisei. But this time, Symboli Rudolf also joined.

As the student council president, she had recently been participating in more and more Eisei meetings, becoming increasingly curious about the details of the team's training structure.

Kitahara had already anticipated that sooner or later there would be matters that needed to be coordinated with Rudolf, so he expanded the scale of the meeting slightly.

They borrowed a meeting room from Epsom Academy, playing the prepared "Draft Plan" on the projection screen, and as usual, Kitahara opened the session.

Choosing the Training Camp Location

"For this training camp, I'm considering Nagoya as the location. It's already one of the most common choices among academies."

Switching to a page summarizing Nagoya's basic information, he explained:

"Oguri, Belno, and I all came from Kasamatsu. Tamamo and the others also spent time training there. Choosing this place means no one will struggle with unfamiliar tracks."

"Kawawan Corporation has also become a well-known business in Nagoya and Kasamatsu, and with that connection, all kinds of arrangements there will be much easier."

"No objections to Nagoya, right?"

Training camps—also known as study trips—originated in Europe and developed into a cultural practice after being introduced to Japan. They are not exclusive to horse girls.

Japan requires every student from elementary school to university to complete a domestic or overseas study trip.

During that time, students live together, learn together, train together—whether commuting, eating, studying, practicing, or resting, every member must stay together.

The Japanese education field believes that such activities improve mutual support, collaboration, personal ability, teamwork, and collective unity.

Many companies also adopt this format to cultivate group identity.

Hierarchical structure is still deeply rooted in Japan, but during training camps, traditional ranks are tacitly set aside. Titles and status are ignored, everyone relaxes, and superiors and subordinates build a stronger bond through direct interaction.

Under this cultural environment, training camps for horse girls are somewhat different.

Tracen Academy, where horse girls study, is fundamentally competition-focused, making the training camp more similar to a sports club or athletic institute program.

During these times, schools, clubs, and companies conduct intensive training. The training camps of horse girls are no exception.

To achieve significant improvement during this period, they typically choose peaceful and quiet locations—places free from distraction, where they can commit fully to training.

Nagoya fits perfectly: close to the seaside with famous resort areas, hosting large numbers of training camps every year.

Booking suitable lodging, clarifying conditions, preparing practice grounds and services—none of these posed any difficulty.

The ocean breeze also helps avoid Japan's summer heat, and the beaches, waves, and nearby mountains provide natural training facilities, making this type of site the first choice for horse girl training camps.

Given all this, Kitahara, Komiyama, and Yuzuhara all understood the reasoning clearly.

"Nagoya is absolutely fine," Komiyama nodded.

She suddenly laughed, recalling, "Come to think of it, it's kind of fate, huh? Tamamo got on the wrong train and ended up in Nagoya eating noodles—that's how she met Little Oguri."

"And after that, all our paths crossed… Eisei was born… and now everyone is here working hard together."

"Returning to Nagoya for training—maybe our results in the second half of the year, or next year, will climb even higher!"

Her excitement made everyone laugh. After a moment, Yuzuhara added thoughtfully:

"If we're going to Nagoya, then beach training is definitely unavoidable."

"My mother specialized in sand-and-dirt training. When I first started learning training techniques, that's where I began."

"I'll organize some methods and techniques, and in a future meeting we can discuss how to incorporate them into the daily plan."

Komiyama Kyoko and Zanshin Kogane knew less about training methods and stayed quiet.

Rudolf spoke after some consideration.

"Going to Nagoya is quite standard. Although, originally, I was considering a European training camp…"

She paused, adjusting her words after realizing Kitahara already had a complete plan.

"For a standard training camp like this, the academy has a mature system. After I return to Japan, I'll provide reference materials for you."

"For July and August, I must arrange the plans for the second half of the year, so I may not be able to go with you."

"But I promise—if you need anything during the camp, contact me immediately, and I will arrange it."

Hearing the student council president offer essentially unlimited authority and support, Kitahara couldn't help but feel relieved. With that level of backing, there wouldn't be any significant logistical obstacles.

"Next topic: the competitions," Kitahara continued smoothly.

"As mentioned before, we must consider the 'Domain Ability' in these exchange races. Oguri and the others need additional race arrangements to adapt to it."

"My plan is to maintain the previously scheduled races at the end of June and early July—Tamamo Cross and Inari One will run the Takarazuka Kinen and Takamatsunomiya Kinen."

"After returning, they'll focus on adapting to the track. With their abilities and available time, it won't be an issue."

"Both races involve many G1-level opponents. There isn't enough time to learn a new Domain ability before then."

"So they should simply run normally to maximize winning chances."

He switched to a new slide.

"For training in relation to the Domain, the real target races are the two on September 20th."

"Tamamo Cross will run the Sankei Sho All Comers (Turf 2200m)."

"Inari One will run the Keisei Hai (Turf 1600m)."

"With over two months between them, they avoid the peak summer heat and make full use of the training camp."

"After that comes the first G1 of the second half: the Tenno Sho (Autumn) in late October."

"No issues here, Senpai," Komiyama nodded. "Sometimes I think having someone like you is a blessing in every sense."

Yuzuhara agreed as well.

"Inari's running the mile? Perfect timing."

He frowned thoughtfully.

"She's much calmer than she was at Oi. After talking with her about the exchange race, she's trying on her own to control her impulsiveness."

"But to perform well on the world stage, she needs more refinement."

"She can handle mid-to-long distance, but the longer the race, the more she overthinks."

"I'm a little worried about the Takamatsunomiya race, so a mile race will help balance her."

"We'll make detailed arrangements later. Inari's training during the camp will be adjusted accordingly," Kitahara reassured him.

He turned another page.

"Three races in October: the Mainichi Okan, St. Lite Kinen, and Kobe Shimbun Hai—for Oguri, Super Creek, and Ardan."

"Before then, I want them to run the Meitetsu Cup, Chukyo Kinen, and Chukyo Championship."

Everyone scanned the slide and froze.

"Huh, Senpai? All three races are at Chukyo—that part I get," Komiyama said, puzzled.

"And they're OP-level—makes sense."

"But Oguri is running the Meitetsu Cup?? That's dirt, not turf."

"And all three races are miles. Oguri and Ardan can handle that, but Creek historically hasn't been as strong at that distance."

"Are you sure this arrangement is okay?"

The others clearly shared the confusion.

"That's why I said I wanted to hear your opinions."

He expected their reaction. He understood each of the three horse girls extremely well.

"Listen to my reasoning first."

"As Yuzuhara said earlier about Inari, the exchange race highlighted issues with the Domain."

"And these three races are designed to target those two aspects specifically."

"Tony Bianca and Moonlight Lunacy used their Domains twice during the earlier exchange race."

"That ability allows them to manage multiple shifts in race conditions—like corner positioning and straight acceleration."

"At the post-race banquet, I tried politely asking them about it—but unfortunately…"

He forced a wry smile.

"They equally politely indicated they would not tell me."

"Understandable. Worldwide, only very few horse girls can master Domain."

"Those who do naturally see it as a weapon and advantage."

"And the fact that all five of ours can enter Domain already shocked them."

"Even high officials like Lyphard didn't expect it. Rudolf and I both saw that."

Rudolf nodded.

"They're European Tracen Academy girls. It's perfectly normal for them to hide an advantage and look down on Japanese horse girls."

"I also spoke with Reference Point—no results either."

"So we'll continue exploring it ourselves."

Kitahara smiled suddenly.

"And honestly, I don't think their refusal is a loss for us."

"Quite the opposite."

"Their acquisition methods still rely on chance."

"But we have already discovered a method of certainty."

"With this unique experience, I don't believe their techniques are beyond us."

"We will master it."

"And find a more stable method."

"So really, it's their loss."

Rudolf cut him off before he went on.

"Like I said before—not all trainers and horse girls are as much of a 'good guy' as you are."

"You would share useful discoveries with everyone. Almost no one else would."

"I understand that you want a better future for horse girls."

"And it's exactly because of that dream that Komiyama and the others, and Oguri and the girls, genuinely gather around you."

"But the world is not as kind as you think."

"So stop sharing everything freely. Leave strategic matters to me."

"Oh, right."

She added casually:

"I already discussed Dancing Brave's medical condition with Prince Khalid. You don't need to worry. I will negotiate for the best benefits for us—Japan, and Japan's horse girls."

"Neither Dancing Brave nor Prince Khalid will refuse my terms."

Her smile took on the look of a scheming politician.

Kitahara could only smile bitterly.

"Understood, Madam President. I'll leave it to you."

He refocused.

"So—Oguri and the others' three OP races are primarily to grasp new Domain characteristics through real racing conditions."

"Our past experience has proved that real races are the best environment to experience Domain."

"And aside from Domain, Oguri also needs to supplement endurance."

"Her strength, speed, and burst power are already at their limits for this stage of her body. To go further, she must wait until she passes her classic year and becomes an aged horse."

"But her endurance still has room to improve."

"Long-distance races are ideal for developing endurance, but Japan doesn't have many, and she can't enter most until next year."

"So, second-best solution: dirt races."

He displayed details for the Meitetsu Cup.

"Dirt races demand more endurance and power. Compared to turf, it will give immediate feedback on her endurance performance."

"A mid-July race is perfect. We can compare the training data before and after to adjust the detailed training plan, which is even more beneficial for the training camp."

"As for Oguri Cap running turf for the first half of the year…"

Kitahara suddenly showed an amused expression."Did you all forget that, as a locally-bred racehorse girl, she originally ran on dirt?"

"Uh… now that you mention it, I really did forget. Oguri Cap was a dirt-race horse originally…"

Hearing that, Komiyama blushed."But you can't blame us for that, senpai."

"Oguri Cap's races this year were all at the highest level—especially Satsuki Sho and the Japanese Derby."

"Winning two Classic races undefeated—who would still remember she's from local circuits and used to run on dirt…"

"Sometimes even I subconsciously think of her as a Central racing horse…"

Komiyama's words resonated with everyone.

Symboli Rudolf, Kyoko Miyamura—even Light, who was also from the local circuit—showed embarrassed smiles after freezing for a moment. Clearly, they too had forgotten Oguri Cap's situation from just a year ago.

Yusuhara reacted the fastest, since the horse girl he managed was also a local runner who advanced into Central.

"Kitahara-san's arrangement reminds me of something."

He thought aloud:"Although URA doesn't emphasize dirt racing in its format, from a training perspective, dirt races have their advantages."

"Inari One also came from dirt racing. I'll think about whether there are suitable races where she can undergo similar training."

"No problem—if you have concrete plans, we'll discuss them in detail."

After nodding, Kitahara continued explaining his plans for his other two racehorse girls.

"Ardan and Super Creek follow the same reasoning."

"Both of them need improvement in speed and strength."

"According to current data, with their abilities and talent, they can handle most race situations."

"But while they excel in other aspects, they're at a certain disadvantage in speed."

"And that disadvantage is in comparison to Oguri Cap and world-class horse girls."

"On the same distance and in the same conditions, their top speed and acceleration are slightly inferior."

"This is due to insufficient strength, slow acceleration, and a lacking top speed."

"Ardan is a bit better in speed, but she still needs more strength, otherwise her acceleration is delayed."

"Super Creek has a direct speed issue—her top speed is slower than Oguri Cap's by 0.0-something seconds."

"In short distances, that difference isn't obvious."

"Against other opponents, she can use stamina to accelerate early and compensate."

"But Oguri Cap and the others know her strategy. If she wants to improve further, she must fix this speed problem."

"Mile races demand strength and stamina, so they're perfect for adjustment. After finishing, we'll analyze and refine training accordingly."

"As for adaptability—even if theirs is slightly worse, that's only in comparison to themselves. Against most opponents, there's no issue."

Having explained, Kitahara assumed everyone understood his reasoning.

And indeed, after a moment of thought, Komiyama and the others nodded in agreement.

"That's fine then, senpai. You must have already prepared the full training camp plan, right?"

Smiling as she said that, Komiyama received an exasperated look from Kitahara.

"What are you thinking? A full 2–3 month training camp has tons of details to consider. You expect me to plan everything alone?"

Feeling as though the junior wanted to slack off, Kitahara nearly rolled his eyes.

"I only drafted a general outline based on standard training camps and our usual practices. You all have to help refine it."

"Don't think you can dump everything on me. Nobody is escaping."

"In the next two days, before we begin European course data collection, we need several draft plans. After returning to Japan, we'll adjust them according to Oguri Cap's status."

Komiyama's joke was harmless—being a trainer, she would naturally participate in all planning.

Not just her and Yusuhara—Kyoko Miyamura and New Radiance would also participate from medical and technical aspects.

In fact, the staff are usually busier than the racehorse girls themselves. The only real rest the horse girls get is on race weeks.

Under Kitahara's arrangement, Team Eisei spent the next few days designing multiple training camp plans, then brought Oguri Cap and the others to collect data at European racecourses.

Overall, Europe's top races are mostly in the UK and France:

UK

Ascot Racecourse (British Champions Stakes)

Newbury (Lockinge Stakes)

Goodwood (Sussex Stakes)

France

Chantilly (French Derby)

Longchamp (Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe)

Deauville (Jacques Le Marois)

Ireland / Germany

Leopardstown (Irish Champion Stakes)

Munich (Bavarian Grand Prix)

Not all races were being considered—the French Derby couldn't be entered, and data collection wasn't directly preparation for those events.

Large amounts of data reveal common traits—especially since many European tracks feel strange to Japanese horses.

For example, Leopardstown appears very different—like a flattened hexagon compared to the U-shaped Epsom—but it also features steep slopes, gentle slopes, and elevation changes. Removing the low areas, it can be seen as a shorter-bend version of Epsom.

With such analysis, work becomes much easier, and testing runs by Oguri Cap help even more.

Continuous test runs allowed training to progress simultaneously.

With trainers focused on work and horse girls on training, days passed quickly, and it was soon time to leave Europe and return to Japan.

Sirius Symboli volunteered again as the pilot. The day before departure, Kitahara and Symboli Rudolf both received invitations:

Kitahara from Masato Kurokawa and Haruki Satomi

Rudolf from Yuu Mai and Khalid

Kitahara assumed his matters were more straightforward and planned to delay departure for Rudolf, but she returned quickly, not affecting the schedule.

With the meeting completed, Kitahara wanted to ask Rudolf for help, and he brought it up after takeoff.

"President Rudolf, I have a collaboration that needs your and the board's assistance."

After a pause, he corrected himself:"Actually, not just mine—this involves the Academy too."

Rudolf's ears twitched, and she smiled with interest.

"What a coincidence. I also have something that needs assistance from Eternal, or rather, from you."

"But since you spoke first, go ahead."

"...Truly a coincidence."

Kitahara continued:

"Eisei has a partnership with Nishijin Group—you know that."

"Around the Japanese Derby, I discussed a new collaboration with Kurokawa, requiring a company skilled in game development."

"Coincidentally, his friend Haruki Satomi's family runs a gaming business, so he invited me to discuss a game project."

"A game project?"

Rudolf blinked, becoming more intrigued.

"I didn't expect someone as old-fashioned-looking as you to be interested in games."

"Let me guess—it's related to horse girls?"

"...How am I old-fashioned? I'm youthful."

Sighing, Kitahara nodded."Yes, it's a game about horse girls."

"See? And you say you're not old-fashioned."

Rudolf shook her head, amused.

"Apart from training and competition, you have no hobbies. I thought you were getting into games for fun, but it's still just training and racing."

"Your brain is exactly like those veteran trainers—nothing but work. If that's not old-fashioned, what is?"

Kitahara had no rebuttal and sighed.

"Fine, I admit I'm old-fashioned."

Then he changed tone:

"But I think the game is quite interesting."

"When Satomi Group finishes it, you might want to try it."

"Try it? Sure, maybe."

Rudolf tilted her head."So what kind of game is it exactly?"

"Like you guessed—training and racing."

Kitahara spread his hands.

"Role-playing style, mainly raising characters."

"Players act as trainers, raising horse girls and winning races to achieve career goals."

As Rudolf's interest grew, Kitahara continued:

"The fun part is that the trainable horse girls are real-world racehorses."

"The plan is to first negotiate rights with famous Japanese horse girls and create their game models."

"For example, when they negotiate with you, and you agree to licensing, players can raise 'you' in the game."

"And if you play, you can raise yourself too."

Rudolf froze, then pointed at herself in disbelief:

"...Raise myself…?"

"Yes, like NBA or FIFA—athletes can play as themselves."

Kitahara laughed at her expression.

"It sounds strange at first—raising yourself in a game."

"That's partly why I needed your help—or rather, to inform you first."

"Actual business negotiations will be handled by Satomi Group professionals."

Rudolf was silent, then muttered with a strange smile:

"Raising myself… running the Triple Crown again in a game…?"

She shook her head.

"We'll talk specifics later. You said that was one request? What else?"

Kitahara continued:

"Satomi also plans to buy a European estate to convert into a training base for Central Tracen Academy."

The idea stunned Rudolf, but then she became serious.

Kitahara explained the commercial reasoning—supporting Eternal's European expeditions, removing reliance on local training facilities, and tying game collaboration with real assets.

He finished:

"Since it would be used as Tracen training grounds, they need approval from Chairwoman Akikawa and from you."

"So Satomi asked me to deliver the message first."

"Kurokawa also joined the game project, and existing anime, movies, and mascot projects will be integrated with the plan."

"That's all from them."

Rudolf nodded thoughtfully.

"I understand. They know the official process, so they want us prepared."

"There's no issue. Their professional teams will handle negotiation with us."

"Is there anything else?"

After asking for confirmation and seeing Kitahara shake his head, Rudolf continued:

"Then what I need your help with is actually quite simple."

"I've already had an initial conversation with Dancing brave and Prince Khalid, and I've also mentioned the situation with Marie's Disease ."

"They had never heard of that disease before and plan to confirm it with their medical teams later."

"In addition, they hope Japan can provide some assistance—after all, it was 'us' who brought up the existence of such a rare condition."

Looking toward Kitahara, LRdolf rubbed her chin.

"I didn't directly say it was your discovery. I only said the academy had some data documenting it."

"So whether any practical benefits can be obtained next… will depend on whether you and Kyoko can come up with a treatment plan."

"Given how rare this disease is, even with Europe's advanced medical system, I doubt they'll come up with the approach you suggested in the short term."

"Most likely, when early progress stalls, Dancing Brave and Khalid will seek help from Japan."

"If nothing unexpected happens, that will be around the time they follow Tony Bianca and Moonlight Lunacy to compete in the Japan Cup."

"If a plan could be developed before then, everything would be negotiable. What I mean is—I will secure the best conditions for us."

Kitahara fell into thought.

"As for the specific treatment plan…"

"I need to discuss it carefully with Kyoko and Dr. Kuku. After all, I'm not a medical professional."

After a moment, he added seriously:

"Also, I might need assistance from a certain racehorse girl I mentioned before… some racehorse girls are extraordinarily talented in medicine. Have you told Dancing Brave or Lyphard about that yet?"

"Not yet."

Ludolf immediately shook her head.

"The ability to discover a racehorse girl's special talents—that's something Principal Akikawa has."

"My thinking is that we should attempt research on this first, and keep control of the technology within our side initially."

"No need to overanalyze the theory. More importantly, I'm wondering…"

With a suspicious look, she studied Kitahara.

"Do you already have someone in mind?"

"I heard from Komiyama and the others that whenever the topic is using racehorse girls' strength to solve certain problems, you always manage to find the most suitable candidate."

"And although previous issues were all training or competition related…"

"Why do I feel like it's the same with medical matters?"

"…Don't treat me like I'm some sort of miracle worker. I don't know everything."

Trying to sound natural, Kitahara spread his hands.

"My idea is simple—trouble Principal Akikawa into putting some effort into it."

"Such a racehorse girl might be extremely rare, but what if we happen to find one?"

As he said this, he was already silently thinking about how to make Akikawa Yayoi "coincidentally" discover Air Shakur and Agnes Tachyon.

The only concern was that those two racehorse girls should currently be around the same age as Opera O.

Judging from Opera O's situation, she truly had great talent in training and racing—able to complete excellent practice alone without any trainer—but overall, she was still operating on an elementary school level.

If that's true…

Could Air Shakur and Agnes Tachyon really show some extraordinary medical ability while still at elementary-school age…?
