Inside the police station sakuya was getting interrogation by a officer which isn't going anywhere.
"So tell me, what were you doing?" an officer demanded, his voice a guttural growl that punctuated the sharp slam of his fist on the steel table.
Sakuya met his gaze with a placid, unreadable expression. "I was getting ingredients for tea."
The officer's face reddened. "That's not... Where's the kid?!"
"What kid?" she asked, a genuine note of confusion in her voice.
He leaned forward, his anger simmering just beneath the surface. "The kid you chased!"
"I don't really know who you're talking about." Her words were a soft, feigned ignorance.
Behind the one-way glass, Ozpin stood with the Chief of Police, a faint, almost amused smile on his lips as he sipped from his ever-present mug.
"We're getting nowhere with her," the Chief grumbled.
"Are there any reports about the missing kid?" Ozpin asked, his tone as casual as if they were discussing the weather.
"No, sir."
"Okay. I'll take it from here."
The Chief and his aide left the room, their frustration a palpable weight in the air. Ozpin entered, his cup of hot chocolate a stark contrast to the sterile environment.
"So, you're Sakuya Izayoi, is that right, miss?" His voice was smooth, a low murmur that seemed to fill the room without effort.
"Yes, it is correct."
"Can you tell me what happened to the kid you followed?"
"Like what I've told the officers, I don't know who you're talking about." Sakuya's tone was getting lazy now, the practiced politeness wearing thin.
"I could believe that, but the CCTV shows you following him, and he's running away from you. So tell me, what did you do to the kid?" The easygoing facade dropped, and his voice became serious, a razor-sharp edge to his words.
Really, does he think that would scare me? she thought, before answering, "I seriously don't know what kid you are talking about." Her tone was tired, the charade growing old.
Just then, a figure appeared behind Ozpin, a person she didn't know, dressed in emo-looking clothing.
"Ozpin, let me handle it," the newcomer said.
Ozpin's eyes glazed over for a moment, as if in a trance. "Ah, Assassin, you're here. Sure, why not." He turned and left, his movements strangely stiff.
A translucent pop-up appeared in front of Sakuya, a stark warning against the mundane backdrop of the room.
[ WARNING: Reincarnator detected. 6 feet in front of you.]
Really? So delayed, or is he just that sneaky? she mused.
"I don't know you or remember you. You are an anomaly, or are you?" the figure said, his voice a low, theatrical drawl.
So emo, she thought.
"Perhaps... you're Neo!" He drew a katana, the glint of steel aimed at her neck.
"Useless," she muttered, and a shimmering barrier materialized, stopping the blade inches from her skin.
"What!?" he exclaimed, his eyes widening in shock before a flicker of understanding crossed his face.
"Never let your guard down," she said, a mischievous smile playing on her lips. A clone of Sakuya materialized behind her, kicking the Assassin out of the room.
"I'm done chasing these reincarnators with massive egos," the Sakuya clone said, her voice a perfect echo of the original. "The world's breaking, so why not change up the show?"
Multiple muskets appeared in the air, spinning around the clone like a deadly halo. The original Sakuya pulled out her revolver.
"Illusion Sign: American Armament!" Dozens of guns materialized in the air, a silent army of steel.
"Wow, that's... just overkill," the original Sakuya said to her clone.
"In my vocabulary, there's no such thing as overkill," the clone said, a wide, manic grin on her face. "Fire!"
All the weapons unleashed their fury, a storm of bullets raining down on the Reincarnator.
"Tsk," he dodged the onslaught, a blur of motion as he sliced the bullets in half with his katana.
"That's some BS right there," the clone said, grabbing a knife and charging forward. "Eternal superior firepower!"
Ten rockets shot toward the Reincarnator.
"Useless!" he roared, cutting them down with a single, fluid motion.
"First of all, that's my line. Second of all, that's BS!" the clone yelled.
"Ahem, our line," the original Sakuya corrected, standing behind the clone.
"Oops, sorry," the clone said, a sheepish look on her face.
"Take this!" The Reincarnator charged, going for an upward strike. The original Sakuya blocked it with a knife.
"You have to try harder than that," she said, just as the clone behind her fired a shot at him.
"Tsk," he dodged, creating distance between them.
It seems there's a bit of reality-bending magic going on here, she thought, as her clone began to attack him relentlessly.
"Heh, let's dance," the clone said, summoning multiple missiles. "Target lock." The missiles flew toward him.
"Too easy," he said, dodging with ease and cutting them in half.
"That's some BS right there," the clone said, charging ahead and firing her gun at him.
"Illusion World: The World!" Sakuya's voice echoed, and time stopped. Only she and her clones could move.
"Really? I could have beaten him without using The World, you know," the clone complained.
"Just kill him already," Sakuya said.
"Alright," the clone said, pulling out her revolver and moving behind him. "I guess the game was rigged from the start." She fired. The bullet stopped inches from the back of his head.
"Time shall resume again," Sakuya said. Time resumed.
The Reincarnator managed to dodge the bullet.
"What!?" the clone and Sakuya exclaimed in surprise.
"Tsk," he let out, retreating
With the Reincarnator gone, the clone looked at Sakuya. "Lucky bastard."
"No matter. After all, I know where his location is at," Sakuya said with a rare flash of emotion.
"Well, then, good luck." The clone disappeared.
"Well then, time to head towards Beacon." She looked back at the intact police station, which was now devoid of officers. Strange.
"Time to go." She stopped time and teleported to Beacon.
