Chapter 25 - Chapter 25 "No Way But Forward"

Scene shift: Adil

His legs barely held. His breath? Shattered. But he kept walking—dragged forward by blood trails that refused to end.

The chamber loomed ahead. Cracked. Silent. Watching.

Adil stumbled in, eyes scanning the wreckage. Adil: "Finally… I was able to reach there."

The silence was wrong. Too quiet. Too still.

Adil (muttering): "I think Kael will be there…"

No answer. No movement.

Then, System Notification flashed in front of him.

"40 entities detected."

Adil's eyes narrowed. Adil: "Huh… 40 entities?"

He stepped forward, slow and sharp. The air shifted.

Then he saw them. Ten SCP-939s. Guarding the chamber like demons in the dark. Eyes glowing. Claws twitching.

Adil (low): "That will not be easy…"

He slipped inside, quiet as a shadow. Each step—measured. Each breath held.

Then— A blur. A blade. A figure lunged at him from the side.

Adil's reflex snapped. He grabbed the wrist mid-strike.

It was Mira.

She struggled, eyes blazing. Mira: "Gr… who are you?"

Adil: "Wowow… relax." Smirks.Adil: "That's my question, though."

He disarmed her, let go. Mira stepped back, fast and guarded.

From behind—

Rafe: "What, another kid?" Dr. Voss: "His face… It's similar to that one…"

Adil blinked. Adil (thinking): "Similar to mine? What does that mean…" Then aloud— Adil: "Oh? Similar to mine? Who is that person?" Smirk.

Mira: "Stop acting dumb." Adil: "Oh, my bad. Okay, tell me—where is Kael now?"

Mira (blinks): "You know him?" Adil: "That's a long story."

Suddenly—TUCK. A loud crash echoed through the chamber.

Rafe: "What was that?" Mira (grabbing Nico's hand): "We have to escape. Now!"

Adil: "Whoa whoa whoa—can someone explain what's happening and where Kael is?"

He peeked through the doorframe— Smoke. Impact. A figure slammed into the wall.

It was Kael. Injured.

Adil (grinning): "Ohoo… you alive." Kael (groaning): "Huh? You blady—where you gone?" Adil: "Hey, you jerk—I'm not bald, it's just my hair—"

Interrupted. Three SCP-939s appeared, snarling.

Adil: "Oi! You have no manners when someone is talking!" Kael: "No time to listen to your yapping!" Adil: "-_- What do you mean? I think it was a nice joke…"

Rafe: "How the hell did he survive that attack?" Dr. Voss: "It feels like these two kids… aren't ordinary." Mira: "Are they SCPs?" Dr. Voss: "No… I don't think so.

Adil cracked his knuckles with a grin. Adil: "You ready?"

Kael wiped the blood from his mouth, eyes sharp. Kael: "Tch… I was born ready."

Adil's grin faded slightly. His body was heavy. His Ki? Already drained. His stamina? Barely holding.

Adil (thinking): "Well… this will be difficult. I already used my Ki. I'm exhausted. But I got no choice."

They both stepped forward. The air around them thickened.

SCP-939s surrounded them. Dozens. Growling. Twitching. Watching.

Adil's system flickered.

Threat Scan: SCP-939 Units DetectedDanger Level: E to E++Quantity: High

Low-tier monsters. But too many.

Adil (dryly): "Hmm… well, did you prepare to die?" Kael: "You've got time to joke at a moment like this?"

Sweat dripped from both of them. Their backs nearly touch. Breathing synced.

Kael: "Do you have any plan?" Adil: "Yeah." Kael: "What is that?" Adil: "Fight." Kael: "You idiot…"

Behind them, the others were slipping away— Mira, Nico, Rafe, Dr. Voss— using the chaos to escape.

Adil's blood core pulsed. His Ki stirred again. Weak. Flickering. But still alive.

Adil: "Well… let's do it."

His body lit up faintly. Ki flowed through his veins— Not like before. But better than nothing.

Kael (surprised): "Huh… what is this energy?"

Adil didn't answer. He moved.

Straight into the pack. Fists flying. Claws clashing.

Kael followed. Mana uis nstable. But his strikes still landed.

They were outnumbered. Outmatched. But not backing down.

Then— A claw sliced Kael's side. Deep. Precise.

He dropped to one knee, gasping. Blood spilled.

Adil turned instantly. Grabbed the attacking SCP's claw mid-swing. Snapped it.

But another one lunged.

Kael (thinking): "Heh… so I'm still weak, mother…"

His vision blurred. His body trembled. But he stood.

Because Adil hadn't fallen. And neither would he.
