Chapter 153 - Chapter 153: The Boxer Who Masters Leg Techniques

"Alright, for the second round, both fighters may use leg techniques. Ready?"

After Jason Luo and Tazim nodded in confirmation, Datchai shouted, "Begin!"

This time, Tazim didn't hold back. He opened with a vicious downward kick, forcing Jason Luo to dodge to the side. Tazim immediately followed with a relentless barrage of punches and kicks.

He really was different now!

With leg techniques added to his offense, Tazim's attacks became sharper and faster. The gaps between punches and kicks were much shorter, and his stronger Leg Strength made every strike more dangerous.

Jason Luo, however, possessed exceptional Toughness and wore full protective gear. Injury wasn't a concern for him—what mattered was observation and learning.

Sanda's leg techniques were different from Taekwondo's, focusing more on front kicks, push kicks, and sweeps. High roundhouse kicks were rare, and flying kicks even more so. Jason Luo nodded to himself. This was how practical legwork should be.

In real combat, balance was everything. High kicks left your center of gravity exposed, and any quick opponent could easily exploit that to break your stance.

To better understand Sanda's offensive rhythm, Jason Luo stayed on defense, dodging and observing while rarely counterattacking.

That left few openings for Tazim. Realizing attacks to Jason's upper body weren't working, he began targeting the lower half—using punches to distract Jason while sweeping at his legs.

Jason was put in a difficult spot. If he lowered his guard to block the kicks, his head would be exposed. But if he ignored them, the repeated sweeps—though not painful—looked bad on display.

Jason hadn't trained leg defense and didn't know how to block with knee lifts. Still, he wasn't about to stand still and take hits. The best defense was offense!

He quickly came up with a counter-strategy: stop attack with attack. If Tazim wanted to use his legs, Jason would force him to keep moving. With only two legs, Tazim couldn't kick and move at the same time—unless he could fly.

The moment Jason decided to move in, he lifted his foot to advance—but instantly, Tazim snapped a powerful straight kick directly into Jason's shin!

"Jason Luo, watch out!"

Coach Datchai called out from the side.

The shinbone was the leg's most fragile spot—thin bone, barely covered by muscle, just skin. For an untrained person, even a light bump could make them tear up. A direct kick from a trained Sanda fighter could easily break it.

The strike landed completely by surprise. Jason had no time to react, taking the full impact head-on. The result?

No pain at all.

First, he had shin guards. Second, his Toughness was a full-body Attribute—his entire body could withstand blows, something that set him apart from any ordinary boxer.

Tazim instantly regretted it. He'd kicked too hard out of habit. The moment his foot connected, he panicked. Boxers never train shin conditioning—if Jason's leg was injured or fractured, that would be serious trouble!

"Stop the attack!" Datchai rushed forward, supporting Jason. "Are you okay? Is it bad? Tazim, you idiot! I told you to go easy—just make contact!"

Jason blinked, then grinned. "So that's the famous straight shin kick, huh? Don't worry, Coach Datchai, I'm fine. Tazim's timing was perfect, actually. But I think I've found a way to counter it."

"Huh?"

Seeing Jason standing calmly and even smiling, both Datchai and Tazim were stunned. How was that possible? Had he trained his legs too?

Still uneasy, Datchai had Jason spin around twice. No limping, no sign of pain—nothing at all.

"Coach Datchai, really, I'm fine. Let's continue."

"Well… alright." Datchai still looked puzzled, but since the match was underway, he didn't press further.

"Tazim, stay sharp. Stop the instant something feels wrong! Continue!"

Now that Jason knew Tazim's kicks couldn't hurt him, he began thinking of ways to counter them. Even if the kicks didn't deal much damage, they constantly disrupted his rhythm, stopping him from advancing and forcing Tazim to move.

At range, leg attacks had a clear advantage. Tazim kept Jason at bay with long-distance kicks, preventing his punches from landing. Every time Jason tried to close in, another shin kick intercepted him. The situation was turning one-sided.

Jason decided to change tactics—by attacking the legs directly. Whenever Tazim threw a mid or high kick, Jason swung a heavy punch at the leg. The move startled Tazim; nobody in Sanda did that. It was more of a Muay Thai or karate tactic—but not against the rules.

Having eaten Jason's heavy punches in the first round, Tazim knew their power. He didn't dare trade again, opting to rely on low sweeps and a tighter guard instead.

But this time, Jason surprised everyone—he started kicking back. Using low roundhouse kicks, he met Tazim's sweeps head-on. To everyone's astonishment, his kicks looked solid—quick, balanced, and heavy.

A professional boxer throwing legit kicks? That was rare. The onlookers' excitement rose instantly. Datchai's eyes gleamed as he rubbed his chin in thought.

The moment Jason began using Leg Techniques, Tazim's focus shifted entirely. Jason suddenly lunged forward with a long punch, and by the time Tazim looked up, the fist was already flying at him. Startled, he stumbled backward.

That was exactly what Jason had been waiting for. As Tazim retreated, Jason launched a flanking rush—advancing fast with shifting Footwork, weaving left and right as he attacked from the side. Unused to this approach, Tazim was forced into pure defense, retreating again and again, unable to steady his stance—let alone use his legs.

In truth, Jason had already eased up. Otherwise, Tazim wouldn't have been able to block at all. But since this was just a friendly sparring match on someone else's training floor, Jason had to give them some face.

Driven backward repeatedly, Tazim lost all ability to counterattack. Everyone watching could see it—Tazim had lost!

Datchai called "Stop!" with a smile and started clapping. The others followed with enthusiastic applause. Some even shouted in excitement, while Tony was practically bouncing with joy, regretting not recording the match on his phone.

As soon as the bout ended, Datchai walked up grinning. "That's what I call professional boxing—smooth transitions between attack and defense, solid fundamentals. But I didn't expect you to know legwork too. No wonder Tazim lost! A boxer who can kick—that's something else!"

Jason waved his hands modestly. "Not really. I just picked up a few things from friends here and there. I was lucky today—thanks for the match."

"Ding! Congratulations on defeating your opponent in an unofficial match. The Greedy Wolf System has automatically extracted superior Attributes from your opponent: Leg Techniques +2, Coordination +1, Takedown Skills +2, Leg Speed +1. Please check your status!"
