Chapter 18: Heading for Buzhou Mountain
For some reason, Taiqing Laozi suddenly felt an intense sense of loss, as if something crucial had slipped from his grasp.
Even with his powerful cultivation, it was difficult to stabilize himself.
As one of Pangu's Three Pure Ones and a peak Innate Divine Being, his instinct to seek fortune and avoid disaster had reached an extraordinary level.
In other words, someone might have stolen an opportunity from him and seized a crucial opportunity!
Thinking of this, Taiqing Laozi immediately began deducing the secrets of heaven.
Yet no matter how he tried, everything was obscured. Not a single clue could be found.
"Forget it! The most important thing right now is to comprehend the mysteries of the Hongmeng Purple Qi and attain sainthood."
Seeing no results, Taiqing Laozi gave up. Compared to sainthood, any opportunity was secondary.
Once he became a saint, his primordial spirit would be entrusted to the Heavenly Dao, allowing him to command its authority.
At that point, just a single thought would allow him to observe the hidden workings of the prehistoric universe, and naturally, he'd uncover who had taken his opportunity.
With this thought, Taiqing Laozi calmed his mind and prepared to delve deeper into the primordial purple energy within his spirit.
"Hmm?"
Just then, the purple energy pulsed within his mind.
Taiqing Laozi's previously somber expression brightened into one of ecstatic joy.
Since receiving this purple energy from Ancestor Hongjun, he had struggled to comprehend its mysteries.
Yet now, it pulsed on its own, radiating a mysterious pull, a sign that it might indeed be the key to his path toward sainthood.
Excited, he could no longer sit still. He immediately stood up.
"Oh? Big Brother, did you sense something?"
"Could it be you're attaining sainthood?"
On Kunlun Mountain, Tongtian and Yuanshi Tianzun, who were also meditating on the Primordial Purple Qi, sensed the joy of Taiqing Laozi and immediately appeared beside him.
"I sensed a Pulse in the Hongemeng Purple Qi." Taiqing Laozi said to his brothers.
As the Three Pure Ones shared a common origin and deep bond, they naturally rejoiced at their elder brother's fortune.
"The pulsation of the Primordial Purple Qi must be related to my sainthood."
Taiqing Laozi spoke with composure, acknowledging the others.
"Congratulations, Big Brother!"
"If you become a saint, then for us brothers, the opportunity to follow won't be far behind."
Tongtian and Yuanshi were joyful, but also were filled with envy.
Taiqing was one of the Three Pure Ones, and now, with the Hongmeng purple energy pulsing, sainthood seemed imminent.
Taiqing Laozi remained calm outwardly, though excitement surged in his heart.
Without hesitation, he soared toward Shouyang Mountain, following the mysterious pull.
The prehistoric world was vast. Even with quasi-saint cultivation, the journey from Kunlun to Shouyang was no small feat.
Meanwhile, billions of miles away, in a hidden cave abode near the Shouyang Forbidden Mountain...
Xuantian sat in front of the fragment of the Jade Butterfly of Creation, his body bathed in divine Dao light. His spirit had reached an unprecedented level of clarity.
With the jade fragment's aid, he was comprehending the Dao's laws at a phenomenal rate.
Just then, his eyes opened, filled with mysterious charm.
With him as the center, the spiritual energy of heaven and earth surged inward, and even laws and karmic fortunes flowed toward him on their own.
This was the effect of the Law of Charm.
Moreover, Xuantian had begun comprehending the Laws of Alchemy and Weapon Forging as well.
Naturally, climbing the mountain of law comprehension became more difficult as one went higher.
But even grasping the basics of the three great laws was already a monumental achievement.
The Law of Charm alone had tripled his original cultivation speed. Given that he was already a mid-tier innate divine being with abundant Human race luck and cultivation resources, this increase was terrifying.
The Laws of Alchemy and Forging would help him create weapons and pills, greatly strengthening his race. At the same time, they would boost his own personal power.
"In the prehistoric world, the three ancestral veins are: Buzhou, Kunlun, and Shouyang.
Shouyang alone holds such treasures. What would the Heavenly Pillar of Buzhou contain?"
Xuantian murmured, his spirit sharpened to its peak.
At this time, the human race was thriving in the blessed lands. Until their population reached 100 billion, there would likely be no major threats.
However, the aura of the Great Tribulation was already looming over. It wouldn't be long before the Demon-Wizard War, and eventually after the Human Tribulation, would erupt.
Importantly, reaching from Taiyi Golden Immortal to Daluo Golden Immortal required one to seek out divine treasures of the Five Elements and perfect the Five Qi.
Thus, Xuantian decided that he would journey across the prehistoric world during this tribulation to seek opportunities and treasures.
With his four-fold golden wheel of merit and the human race's fortune on his side, his journey would be far smoother.
His destination? The one place with the most opportunities in all of the prehistoric world was Mount Buzhou, the Pillar of Heaven.
Rising from the earth, Xuantian sat atop Xiao Jin's back. A man and beast journeyed through the spiritual veins of the land toward Buzhou.
Xiao Jin, the treasure-hunting rat, was excited to see the legendary peak.
Along the way, they discovered various treasures, though most were unremarkable. Still, Xuantian didn't waste them. What he couldn't use, he could share with his clan.
As they traveled, Xuantian continued his cultivation, delving ever deeper into the three great laws.
One day, Xiaojin suddenly stopped and emerged from the underground veins.
Ahead stood a magnificent mountain, shrouded in auspicious mists and the cries of immortal cranes. Above it hung two large golden characters:
Qianyuan Mountain: Golden Light Cave
"Qianyuan Mountain, Golden Light Cave?"
Xuantian muttered, frowning slightly. A name surfaced in his memory:
Taiyi Zhenren, one of the future Twelve Golden Immortals of the True Sect.
His reputation wasn't exactly great. During the Investiture of the Gods Tribulation, the powerful Shiji Niangniang of the Jie Sect had her entire clan wiped out by this man's actions.
But in this timeline, nothing like that had yet occurred. There was no karma or enmity between them.
Thus, Xuantian had no reason to stir up trouble. Once Xiao Jin retrieved the treasure here, he planned to leave.
But suddenly, a cold voice echoed out:
"So that's where it went! I was wondering how the treasure-hunting rat that Senior Brother Guangchengzi gave me disappeared. It turns out it was stolen by you, Daoist!"
A figure blocked Xuantian's path, clad in water-and-fire Taoist robes and holding a horsetail whisk. His eyes gleamed greedily as he stared at Xiao Jin.
"Translator's Note: Hongmeng means Primordial."
