Chapter 7 - A new friend

After the incident, Tsukasa sat on his bed in the hotel, Takaharu then approaches him.

"Yo Tsukasa, how're you fellin' man?"

"Does orange count as a feeling?" Tsukasa asks in a tired tone.

It has been three days since the admission exam. the new sparks were told that they would have to take another week to rest before they can actually go to the academy.

"You've been lookin' pretty down man. Since you passed the exam I thought you'd be a little bit chipper."

Tsukasa internally monologues to himself, being touched at the concern from someone that he isn't even friends with. Tsukasa then speaks up.

"Now that I think of it, we don't really know each other that well."

Takaharu instantly remembers that the two have yet to introduce themselves.

"Right my bad man. My name's Takaharu Fumia. It's a pleasure to make your acquaintance." He says while smiling. Tsukasa then introduces himself.

"My name's Tsukasa murusaki. It's good to meet you aswell"

Takaharu continues where he left off.

"Well not that that's out of the way. You mind telling me what's been bugging ya?"

Tsukasa thinks for a minute before finally giving his answer to Takaharu.

"I'm not too sure myself. It's just that..."

His memory goes back three days, right at the moment when captain murusaki walked into the building. He explains that when she walked in, he initially had no idea as to why she was there. But after her almost failing him, he realizes what she as after. Takaharu, not understanding what he's talking about, asks him to elaborate further, so ztsukasa continues.

"Most likely she wanted to get a specific reaction from me. Though I don't really know what reaction she wanted." He remembers the words she said to him. "Mizu-san would be disappointed."

He then brushes it off as just her own craziness, to which takaharu doesn't know how to answer.

"Oh, by the way takaharu-"

Takaharu cuts him off.

"Stop right there pal. Call me Fumia, were friends right?"

Tsukasa, visibly surprised, doesn't really know how to answer, making the situation kind of awkward.

This leads Takaharu to ask something.

"Hold on..... Don't tell me. You've never had any friends have you?"

Tsukasa immediately denies this allegation, but Fumia begs to differ, taking note of his un energetic, almost zombie like voice. On top of that his hair is a complete mess and his bangs are always over his eyes, making it quite hard for people to actually see his face.

"I wouldn't say I've never had any friends, I just haven't had any others besides kijiri"

Takaharu speaks next,"Kijiri? Oh you're talking about sakuraba-chan right? She's a classmate of yours correct?"

Tsukasa continues,"Yea. We grew up together. We stayed close since our dads were best friends back in their day. And our moms were also pretty close."

Takaharu understands their relationship, relating it to a meme he saw on the internet where two best friends ensure that their kids are friends to continue a generational friendship. Tsukasa says that he isn't too far off.

Takaharu then apologizes for immediately assuming that he had no friends, to which Tsukasa says there there isn't any need for that. While he has been friends with sakuraba for practically their entire lives, he has never really had any other friends, let alone male ones.

"Oh I see, then if that's the case I'm four first male friend righ? Which also makes me your best friend"

Tsukasa is unsure if that's how it works but Takaharu tells him not to worry about the fine details. This brings Tsukasa back to the question he wanted to ask before.

"Umm, Fumia-san, after the school had it's repairs done, were the students allowed to go back immediately?"

Fumia smiles at this question, saying he had a feeling that he would ask that.

"But unfortunately, nobody was allowed to return to school right after the repairs were done. They said it was because they needed to check for other 'points of entry' before allowing the school to continue teaching students."

Tsukasa then speaks.

"Well it makes sense. They can't really allow students to go back there without looking for any other ways spirits might breach the school."

Though, even after his question is answered, Tsukasa still has a strange feeling, as though their not getting the full image. Takaharu just stared at him for a bit before he continues speaking.

"Well on the bright side, there weren't any casualties, although one girl came out with some heavier injuries but not were life threatening, neither will they leave any lasting damage to the girl's body."

Tsukasa relaxes slightly at the sound of this. Takaharu then takes this chance to invite Tsukasa to hang out with himself and the rest of the team.

"I'm not really one who enjoys walking around" Tsukasa responds.

"Aaaawwww. Come on man. You can't just stay cooped up in the hotel room for the entire week you know."

Tsukasa thinks about it and realizes that he has spent three entire days doing nothing but sleeping and scrolling in his phone.

"Now that you mention it, you're right. That's way too unhealthy."

Takaharu beams at the sound of him agreeing.

"Alright. Since there are only three guys, we'll be meeting the girls at Ruki-ruki cafe on Saturday at 11 am."

"Ruki-Ruki. What kind of name is that?" Tsukasa asks but brushes it off instantly, assumitone of the girls chose it. Tsukasa then remembers something.

"Hey Fumia, aren't there supposed to be eight of us from our school in total?"

"Yeah we are, why?" Fumia responds.

Tsukasa says that they're supposed to be eight of them, but he only remembers seeing seven people.

"Oh right, I hadn't mentiont that to you yet. One girl, a freshman, was also part of our group, but for she came down with a fever so she couldn't make it to the admission exams with us. If I remember correctly she should be taking them today."

Tsukasa, now fully understanding the situation, asks for her name.

"Let's see. What was her name again?"

As Takaharu tried to remember her name, we pan over to the examination room, completydestroyed and some of the walls have huge, prominent burns all across them. A black haired girl walks out of the flames. Takaharu finally remembers her name. Serena Fetheràll. The girl walks over to coper and asks if she passed he exam, leaving coper visibly stunned at her strength.
