Chapter 1 - Drinking Makes You Stronger!

"On the battlefield, when protecting our auxiliary spirit masters, the first thing you must remember is—"

"Tons, tons, tons…"

Inside the advanced class of Tiandou Royal Academy, Qin Ming, the instructor in charge, was focused on the blackboard, carefully sketching diagrams as he delivered his lecture. But the steady sound of someone gulping down drink echoed through the room, disrupting his rhythm. The corner of his mouth twitched violently.

He froze for a moment. Then veins bulged on his forehead.

As a teacher, it was his duty to intervene, but… he hesitated. The last one who tried hadn't ended well.

Finally, with a pained swallow, Qin Ming turned and snarled.

"Lu Yuan! Drinking during class is strictly forbidden!"

His roar fell like thunder. The classroom fell into dead silence. One by one, the students looked toward the corner of the room.

There sat a youth no older than twelve, dressed sloppily, hugging a large wine jar in both hands. A long sword hung across his back. Every gulp he took sent audible ripples through the jar.

The Legend of Lu Yuan

"M-Ms. Qin Ming must have lost his mind…" one student whispered.

"Doesn't he remember what happened to the last teacher? Chased down three streets by Lu Yuan after nagging him about drinking."

"This is bad… the teacher's going to get beaten again."

A bead of cold sweat ran down several foreheads, all eyes locked nervously on the boy in the corner.

Lu Yuan. The undisputed tyrant of the academy's advanced class.

No one dared provoke him.

"Tons… tons… hic!" The boy suddenly hiccupped after draining another mouthful, his hazy eyes shifting toward Qin Ming.

"What did you just say?" he asked, voice dripping with the lazy menace of someone both drunk and dangerous.

Qin Ming's heart lurched to his throat.

"I-I only meant… drinking is bad for your health. You're still young, you should focus on your studies!" His words stumbled out like a man begging for leniency.

Too late. Way too sloppy! Qin Ming cursed himself inwardly.

This kid was a true alcoholic. On his very first day reporting to Tiandou Royal Academy, he'd shown up swaying drunk. Qin Ming wasn't sure he had ever seen the boy sober in four years. Worse… his strength was monstrous.

At just eight years old, he'd crippled the previous chief disciple with a single strike. Now he was twelve, but how strong he had become in the years since—it was frightening to even imagine.

In this academy, age meant nothing. When it came to Lu Yuan, not a single student dared cross him.

"Don't drink? How's that possible?" A sly grin spread across his lips as he raised the jar again.

"Tons… tons…"

A Strange System

[Ding! Detected: Host's body remains healthy. Second spirit ring age +10]

Yes—Lu Yuan was no ordinary drunkard.

He was a traverser. When his Martial Soul awakened at six years old, a mysterious system bound to him.

Its name… Bacchus.

And its ability was absurdly simple: the more he drank, the stronger he became.

So of course, Lu Yuan spent his days drinking nonstop. As he drained jar after jar, bonus power surged within him.

Empty Jars and New Faces

"Hic~ gone already?" He shook the empty jar in his hands and fumbled through his Soul Guidance Device, pulling out another… empty. Then another… also empty. At least a dozen jars had gone dry already today.

Qin Ming's face darkened. This monster… how much alcohol can he drink?!

"L-Lu Yuan… I still have a jar here."

A timid voice cut the tension. From her desk, a girl with elegant silver-gray hair stood and gently offered her wine jar forward. Her name was Ye Lingling—sweet-faced, polite, and a little too kind for her own good.

Lu Yuan's eyes lit up instantly. With practiced ease, he snatched the jar and tipped it into his mouth.

"Tons… tons…"

Exhaling contentedly, he laughed. "Haha—what's your name again, little sister?"

"Lingling. Ye Lingling."

"Lingling, huh? Cute name. Nice to meet you! I'll treat you to drinks tonight."

Her cheeks reddened. "B-But Brother Yuan, we've already drunk together yesterday… and the day before…"

She trailed off as her embarrassment deepened. Despite being older than him, this "younger" boy always acted like her senior. And drunk or not, he always forgot the previous night.

"Hahaha! Then tonight as usual!" Before she could react, his arm looped tightly around her slender waist, dragging her into his lap right in front of the class.

Jealousy Sparks

"L-Lu Yuan… Brother Yuan, we're still in class!" Ye Lingling squirmed, her face burning under everyone's wide-eyed stares.

"Lu Yuan!!!"

A furious voice cracked like thunder. At another desk, Yu Tianheng slammed his palm against the table, standing abruptly.

His golden hair seemed to blaze under the sunlight as three spirit rings flared around him. His jaw was tight with rage.

"As class monitor, I can't ignore this any longer." His eyes locked on Lu Yuan.

Four years ago, Tianheng had been courting Dugu Yan when Lu Yuan swooped in, wrecked his pursuit, and beat him black and blue for good measure. Now, he'd finally set his eyes on Ye Lingling… only to see her too pulled right into Lu Yuan's arms!

Endless humiliation piled in his chest. Today, he couldn't endure it any longer.

"Which bastard are you?" Lu Yuan waved lazily, stroking Ye Lingling's dyed cheeks as though Tianheng's rage were nothing but background noise. "Don't disturb me while I'm drinking with a beauty, or I'll pound you."

"You!" Tianheng growled.

Clash of Titans?

Students whispered nervously.

"Captain must've gone crazy. Picking a fight with Lu Yuan? He can't handle it."

"But didn't the captain just break through the 39th rank two days ago?"

"Even so… last time he broke through, he still got flattened!"

Qin Ming's entire body tensed. His pulse raced. If these two really clash, there will be nothing left of this classroom. Tianheng was from the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan—he couldn't be crippled here!

He wanted to stop them, but before he could step in—

Lu Yuan, who'd been smirking drunkenly with Ye Lingling in his lap just a second ago, suddenly vanished.

Boom!

A single punch landed squarely on Yu Tianheng's head. In an instant, his body flipped upside down, his legs pointing to the ceiling while his face slammed into the floor. Wood shattered beneath him as an unlucky desk exploded into splinters.

The classroom gasped in unison.

Wine Spares His Life

Tianheng groaned, dazed from the devastating blow. Lu Yuan raised another fist casually, lips curling mischievously.

"Stop!!!" The terrified noble scrambled through his Soul Guidance Device, pulling out a jar of fine wine and thrusting it out in trembling hands.

Lu Yuan paused.

He sniffed. A grin slowly stretched across his face. "…Ah, good wine!"

He snatched the jar, poured it heedlessly down his throat, and waved dismissively.

"On account of this fine drink, I'll spare you today."

A Classroom Frozen in Fear

The tension shattered. The class collectively exhaled, cold sweat dampening their clothes.

"One punch…"

"Just one punch and Senior Yu Tianheng ended up like that?!"

"And worse… Lu Yuan didn't even use his Martial Soul, or the sword on his back…"

Everyone's eyes unconsciously flicked to the long blade strapped across his shoulders. The very sword he had used, years ago, to floor the previous top disciple in an instant. Since then, he rarely drew it.

If his pure fists could casually flatten Yu Tianheng, just how terrifying was his true strength?

Suppressing their panic, the students could only sit in silence as Lu Yuan swaggered back to his desk.

With a drunken grin spreading once more across his face, he raised the jar.

"Tons… tons… tons…"
