Chapter 1 - I never thought I'd be so "handy"

What is the first thing that comes to mind when I say the word Fantasy?

Perhaps it is magic or mystical creatures, beautiful kingdoms, battles between heroes and monsters, but something else that also comes to mind are the famous dungeons, full of challenges, and for those who manage to overcome them, treasures and relics await as rewards.

And in one of these dungeons, on top of a carved stone pillar, is what looks like a simple gauntlet, but make no mistake, this gauntlet is actually something unprecedented.

How do I know this?

Simple, it turns out that this gauntlet... IS ME!!!

That's right! The one talking to you is not an omnipresent narrator or a deity giving spoilers about a prophecy, it's me, the gauntlet!

Oh, right, I think I'd better introduce myself properly and then I'll explain what's going on.

Ahem... Hi! My name is Silver, and some time ago I was just a normal high school girl. I was my father's only child; my mother died in an accident when I was very young. I always wanted to have a little sibling, but unfortunately my father ended up closing himself off from the world and isolating me along with him. At first I really didn't like it, and I think I even behaved badly on purpose because of it, but I think that after I grew up, I was able to understand his point of view.

But anyway, we're getting off topic. On a normal day like any other, I finished my online studies, made a snack, and decided to take a nap, but when I woke up, I couldn't see anything!

I remember thinking it was a dream and waiting to wake up, but when I realized nothing was happening, I panicked. That's when it appeared

[Welcome to Novus Tellus, user Silver]

I didn't understand anything! But the messages didn't stop

[Please open the system for more information]

That's when it dawned on me, I WENT TO AN ISEKAI!

Of course, I freaked out a little and started to worry since I was just a teenager and my dad had stayed home. With him being so overprotective, it wouldn't be strange if he got the entire police force to look for me!

After calming down, I finally opened the system, and that's when the situation got worse.

Not only did the famous holographic screen with basic information appear, but now I could see the things around me!

I was in a room made of large square stones, like those in medieval castles, and an archway that probably should have had a door blocking it. Beyond that archway was a dark corridor made of the same stones, and most importantly, in the center of that room was a pedestal with a single gauntlet floating above it.

Obviously, I tried to touch it, but that's when I realized I had no arms, and when I looked down, I had no body!

In desperation, I looked at the system screen, and the answer hit me hard.

The reason I couldn't touch the gauntlet was because I was the damn gauntlet!

And since then I've been here, in this place, with nothing to do...

But what about you? What have you been up to?

The mouse I was talking to twisted its head a little, a natural response that has been repeating itself for some time.

From time to time, certain beings pass through the arch and wander around the room, and I take the opportunity to chat and avoid going crazy, I mean, more than someone who talks to an animal that isn't their pet and thinks it will understand them... and this time it was a rat.

But these one-sided conversations of mine actually helped me discover certain things, for example, how attributes work. Mine are as follows:

[Attributes]

[HP: 10/10]

[Damage: 1]

[Durability: 1]

Very simple, but it makes sense. After all, at the time I was just a motionless gauntlet, so it wouldn't make sense to have a Dexterity attribute or something like that. Now, the rat's attributes are as follows:

[Attributes]

[HP: 10/10]

[Strength: 1]

[Dexterity: 1]

[Constitution: 1]

Yeah, I have fewer attributes than a mouse...

But! That taught me something else: Attributes only show what is useful for direct combat. Otherwise, it would have shown something like intelligence, wisdom, or something similar in the mouse.

But anyway, now it's time to say goodbye to Mr. Mouse.

With a flick of my finger, bang! An wind bullet shot towards the mouse's head

[You hit Dungeon Mouse]

[You hit a vital point]

[Critical damage]

[Dungeon Mouse took 10 points of damage]

One more thing I learned is that, even though this world operates on a system, weak/vital points still matter. Hitting someone in the leg won't cause as much damage as hitting them in the head or heart, but aiming accurately at those spots is difficult. I only managed to do it because the beings I've been killing have no idea that I can do that, and thanks to my skill.

[Skills]

[Analyze: Observe the target's information, attributes, and skills]

[Wind Bullet: Snap your fingers to shoot a wind bullet at the target, dealing {Damage Attribute} damage points]

Another discovery I made is that depending on certain actions I take, I gain a related skill. For example, I received the [Analyze] skill when I tried to see the first mouse that came to visit me, and the [Wind Bullet] skill was when I controlled the gauntlet, or should I call it my body now, to snap the fingers, and then bang! New skill acquired!

Anyway, it doesn't take long for the now dead mouse's body to start glowing and dissolving into multicolored particles. I'm still not sure what they are, but what matters to me is the system message that appeared!

[You received 4 EXP points]

Finally, my EXP is full! Which means...

[Y/N]

OF COURSE I DO!!!

[Evolution in progress]

My body began to be enveloped in a feeling of relaxation, and a strong sleep began to take hold of my consciousness. I don't care what I evolve into, I just want to get out of this dungeon!
