CHAPTER 105
The morning sun pierced through the beautiful city . The city, though battered and smoking in some parts, had slowly begun to breathe again. The heavy Rain had stopped, leaving puddles reflecting fragments of a broken skyline. The streets were already busy even busier than before almost as the city or rather the country was slowly recovering from the previous horror that unfolded
But back in takeda residence
Everyone had gone their separate ways.
President Nakamura had returned to his presidential residence, his mind already consumed by the weight of decisions and reports that would follow. Hiroto had gone back to his guild, where he was greeted immediately by Anya, who—without hesitation—delivered a fierce soccer punch for not picking up her calls. The guild hall echoed with her scolding, and Hiroto, bloodied and bruised, could only wince and accept it then he spoke "Yoo Anya we have a new recruit he'll be here shortly!
Anya also confused "huh he"??
Dracan, on the other hand, had sworn to remain at Renji's side. Having heard he's the vessel to januza and the sheer pontential Renji had displayed to weild that power, he had pledged himself to serve without question. Thus, he remained in Takeda's residence, silent but vigilant, a shadow ready to strike at a moment's notice.
Meanwhile, in the far end of the city , Arisa stood by her window, her gaze fixed on the streets below. The soft glow of morning light painted her room in gentle hues, but her mind was far from peaceful. She clutched her phone tightly, pressing it to her ear as she spoke with a BEARU officer.
"Did… did he show up at BEARU headquarters today?" Arisa asked, her voice tense yet trying to remain composed.
There was a pause on the other end. The faint rustle of paper, the beep of distant machinery.
"No… not that I know of, ma'am." The officer replied cautiously. "He hasn't been seen since he came to meet the president."
Arisa exhaled, relief flooding her chest. "Ooo… thank you very much." She cut the call, letting the phone clatter softly onto her desk.
Then, unable to contain her emotions, she leapt onto her bed. Face-down on the pillow, she buried her face and screamed, muffled by the fabric.
"I wonder if he's okay…" she whispered, her voice trembling. "Surely… the officer didn't know about the Gealgilmesh raid. But .. I'm… I'm worried…"
She screamed again into the pillow "ahhhhhhh" what's going on with me !! Why am I feeling this way? frustration and anxiety blending into a chaotic whirlwind. "why...why...Why am I worrying this way? But Maybe I should meet up with Takeda and hear what's going on just to make sure he's okay!"
Her thoughts were abruptly interrupted by a voice, casual and teasing, drifting through her window.
"Yooooo!"
Arisa froze mid-breath. Slowly, she turned toward the sound, her face morphing instantly from shock to bright crimson.
"Huh?"..
Standing outside her window was a figure she knew all too well.
"Hello, Arisa sorry I kept u waiting."
"R…R…Renji!" Her voice squeaked, a high-pitched mixture of shock and embarrassment.
"Eiiiiiiiii!" She shrieked, stumbling backward on her bed. "W-what are you doing here?! I thought…" Her words trailed off as her eyes shifted downward. Her gaze fell on her own attire uhhh!! a hoodie crop top and shorts that left her legs exposed.
Her face burned red again. "My clothes…" she whispered, almost inaudibly.
Renji blinked, tilting his head slightly. He clearly didn't understand why she had gone completely blank.
"Arisa… are you okay?" he asked, a small frown forming on his face. Then, with his trademark sarcastic tone, he added: "ohhhhh arisa ... Hmmmm hmmm I love your outfit. Really brings out all your… attributes, if you know what I mean."
Arisa's blush deepened ..more red, more intense than ever. Her vision blurred, and she collapsed, fainting backward onto the floor.
"Huh?! Arisa! Wait, wait!" Renji shouted, but she was already lying on the floor, unconscious.
A few minutes later, her eyes fluttered open. Her head ached, uhhh my head , a dull pain radiating through her skull. She slowly focused, and her gaze sharpened as she realized she was being held tightly. Renji's face was so close to hers that she could feel his concern in every line of his expression.
Her face burned red again, hotter than before.
Renji's voice, calm but relieved, broke the silence. "Uhh… thank heavens you're awake. I was worried Are you okay or wait are you pregnant!?"
Before he could say anything further , a sudden punch struck his face. The impact sent him spinning, crashing into the wall behind him.
"Are you crazy?! Why did you hold me like that?!" Arisa screamed, her own blush betraying her anger and perhaps, something deeper.
Renji groaned, his face pressed against the wall. Owwww "Yep… that's the S-rank treatment I know."
He slowly pushed himself upright, dusting himself off. "Ahh… it hurts, Arisa."
"Uhh… sorry!" she muttered, still flushed, trying to regain her composure. Then her expression shifted, confusion and worry intertwining. "Wait… but how are you here? I thought you were in the Gate! I was worried sick!"
Renji smiled, a small, teasing curl of his lips. "Well… that's why I came to see you."
"Ehh…" Arisa's voice faltered.
"It's a long story… but I can't explain everything now. Right now, we have a raid to settle."
"Eh… we…" Arisa stammered, still trying to process.
Renji's smile widened. "Yes. I'm joining your guild."
"Guild ? wait! Ehhhhhh?!" Arisa screamed inwardly. Then, out loud, "Are you serious?!"
Renji hopped onto her window frame, landing lightly on the ledge, and looked down at her. His eyes sparkled with mischief.
"Maybe after this raid… we can get dinner."
Arisa's head spun. The word dinner echoed in her mind, a mix of disbelief and excitement. Her face paled, and she swayed slightly.
Renji, sensing her hesitation, gave her a small, teasing wave before dropping down into the streets below.
Arisa pressed a hand to her mouth, heart racing. Did he just… ask me on a d… d… date?!
"Are you serious?!" she screamed, her voice trembling with both frustration and hope.
Meanwhile, far away, at the edge of the world, the King of the Generals hovered above the ruins. His dragon-like eyes glowed crimson, burning with rage and anticipation.
"Just a little longer…" he whispered to himself. "Soon… you will be my prey…"
The city, the guild, the people they were all pieces in his looming game.
