Chapter 15 - Blood On Ice

"This technique annoys me, the construct reality of these Izigans. It's just like I expected; they can create their own loop in reality forged from high virtual and reality manipulation abilities.

So this is supposed to confine me how delightful the stronghold of endless reflection," he says. "I am disappointed."

Still trapped in the growing glass, he shattered it and stepped into a world of endless reflections.

The ground was made of broken, uneven mirrors, each piece shifting under his feet.

With every step, the surface rippled like water, bending the reflections around him.

The atmosphere was covered with glass from every angle. With each move, a crack sounded, and the sharp edges tore at his skin as he moved through the strange land where every direction was a trap.

"Impressive. Construct realities are truly remarkable, but you seem to lack something.

The more perfect a thing is, the more flaws it attracts. Flaws are used to amend they are not meant to be discarded. For that reason, your construct reality is far weaker than it is strong.

Your biggest flaw was that you wanted to confine me but forgot the essence of the space-time continuum, it's supposed to expand, not contract and my power is infinite."

The Void stretched out his hands into the air while a small part of his arm began to crack, showing purple light beneath. This vessel was tearing apart little by little.

For there's a time to think; there's also a time to act, a time to protect, then a time to run.

Sir David did it, he must have locked the Void inside his construct reality. The moment the entity entered his space-time, reality began to shift.

He could feel the overwhelming power that had entered his construct reality. He needed help, he needed to strengthen the construct reality but first, he needed everyone to evacuate the place now.

Sir David dashed into the cave, using his powers to cause a small quake that rattled the walls and drew everyone's attention.

From the ice chamber, they sprang up and rushed to the main cave, finding Sir David in an urgent, tense state.

"We have to go now! Pack your things, we have to go."

They all got the message, but something else caught their attention. Behind Sir David, reality cracked like glass, thin lines spreading quickly before shattering with a sharp sound.

Through the break, a hand covered in black and purple cosmic energy burst out, grabbing his neck from behind. The dark energy formed a huge hand that wrapped around his entire throat.

Everyone froze in terror at first until they witnessed the ordeal.

Both Palmer and Elena sprinted toward the Void. Palmer, using his super strength, unleashed a flash step, his figure flickering in and out of sight, shifting a thousand times in an instant toward a single point.

In the next heartbeat, he was at the Void's side, his clenched fist dropping down like a hammer.

But before it could land, a sudden wave of black-purple aura exploded outward, slamming into him with brutal force.

The impact hurled him to the edge of the cave, where a jagged spike of ice jutted out. It pierced through his chest, and he died instantly.

Elena's face went pale the moment she saw what happened. Her features twisted in anger, and her hair began to float wildly as if caught in an unseen storm. Tears streamed down her cheeks as she charged at the Void.

"Nooo! You are so dead!"

Her Izigan tattoos lit up in a bright purple glow as she closed in, the Void still gripping Sir David in one hand while lashing out with the other.

In her right palm, Elena condensed a swirling mass of toxic energy, glowing a deep purple.

She lunged forward, arm dropping low before she swung it up for the strike, but before she could land the blow, the Void's cosmic energy took form.

In an instant, a long, fiery rod pierced through her head, blood trailing down as her body went still.

"And now, to give you what is yours."

The Void looked at Sir David, still holding him firmly. Shards of razor-sharp glass burst out from his neck, slicing clean through.

His head separated from his body, which collapsed to the floor while the head rolled toward the children, who stood frozen, confused, shattered.

It had all happened right before their eyes. Blood sprayed across the walls and floor, staining the blue ice cave with splashes all around.

They were done for. There was no way they could beat that thing or so they thought.

John and Dorothy stood behind Belle and Sofia, who had a clearer view of the terror. It struck them to their hearts. Instead of fear, both Belle and Sofia were filled with rage.

Their eyes were widened, and their minds and consciousness swallowed by hatred. Kill, kill, kill, it kept on repeating in their minds like they were being programmed. They snapped.

John sensed the tension as he stood behind Belle and Sofia. Around Sofia, the water and ice hissed into steam, vanishing into the air, while the ice surrounding Belle grew denser and harder, forming a solid shell.

"Holy fuck, Dorothy, we have to run right now," John said, putting on a transparent mask and holding Dorothy while a small force field activated as he held her to run.

Their cosmic energy became violent, roaring out of their bodies like a violent wind, and the force alone could be compared to a storm.

"Amazing. Just amazing. To think that your offspring would possess such power, it makes me even more interested."

Just as the Void moved in on them, a massive explosion erupted, shaking the area. The blast came from a collision of two cosmic energies. One icy, one blazing hot. Belle's frost and Sofia's flames surged together, the combined force almost catching the Void, but he slipped away at the last moment.

Belle's white hair whipped in the wind. Her slender hand was encased in ice down to her fingertips, and her glowing Izigan tattoo made the frozen surface around her shine with an even brighter, luminous glow.

Sofia floated in the air, her Izigan tattoo glowing purple as waves of energy radiated from her. Around her hands, that energy had taken the shape of a massive claw. The snow near her melted into water under the heat of her power.

With dashing speed, Sofia lunged toward the Void. She moved her hand, creating a huge claw attack that dug the ground deep, but the Void dodged it, moving sideways.

A huge frost attack met him, freezing him on the spot. While he attempted to melt it, a crying purple light beam met him where he stood, sending him crashing into the snow.

Before the Void could regain his balance, Belle appeared above him with a long frost spear, sharp at each end, ready to pierce him.

The Void turned just in time to counter the attack, his hands covered with cosmic energy which erased the spear.

Sofia rushed in with her two monstrous clawed hands, joined them together, and smashed them against the Void. He once again dodged, and the explosion sank the ground with great depth.

"You have entertained me too much. Let's end this quickly," the Void said, awaiting the next attack, which turned out to be Belle's.

A huge wave of frost rushed at him, cutting through the snow and freezing everything in its path.

He stretched his hands, and a void-like transparent force ripped through the ice until it slammed into Belle, throwing her off balance.

In an instant, the Void appeared in front of her in blinding speed and drove his fist through her stomach. Behind her, the force escaped, tearing through the snow to make a pathway.

Belle was shot backward with blinding speed, crashing through the snow and ice and vanishing into the horizon.

Sofia approached, flying through to meet the Void, all covered in her purple energy. The Void converged his energy, preparing as she approached.

"It's you I want," the Void whispered.

The moment they closed in on each other, both the energy in the Void's hand and that of Sofia collided. The impact sent a burst of sharp energy shooting high into the air.

Snow and colored energy burst everywhere, spreading across all directions, and as the haze began to clear, he was holding unconscious Sofia by the head, blood trickling from her mouth.

"I need to hurry; this body is nearing its limit.

That direct attack from that sword-wielding man is already beginning to take effect," he said, dragging her on the snow until he disappeared into the deep expanse.
