Chapter 42 - Chapter 42: The Price

"I sent a word to Barbieri and Ferrari." Julio moved to stand beside me. "After tonight, Blandini's allies will surely be looking for ways to retaliate. They would probably go for Ferrari first."

I nodded, keeping my eyes on the tall fence that surrounded the Blandini estate on the outskirts of the East Hills. Those fuckers found the best place to build their fortress. It was surrounded by a bast forest–the perfect spot to hide whatever ill business they had been doing. Now this fortress would become their mass grave. "We need to deploy some of our men to Aurelio's home. He could use some extra protection."

"I already took care of it," he muttered, scanning the area before us, his face a bitter scowl.

"Good." I pulled out my Glock and checked the extra clips hidden in my pants pocket.
