Chapter 47 - Chapter 47: Confrontation

"Here, drink this." Jade handed me a glass of...something. I had no idea what it was, but it had ember colour and reeled of alcohol, and perhaps it was what I needed right now.

I'd called Jade as soon as I left the restaurant, and now I was sitting in her office and trying hard to piece together everything I had just heard. I stared at the liquor for a minute before throwing the entire liquid down my throat. I winced at the searing sensation. "What the hell did you give me?"

She shrugged. "One of my uncle makes it. It's strong, isn't it?"

I coughed, hurriedly grabbing s glass of water and gulping it down. "This shit should come with a warning."

She laughed. "At least you no longer look like a ghost now."

I sighed and slumped on the sofa. "Jade, it's bad. What I heard from my father is seriously messed up. If it's true, then–"
