"The police successfully busted their drug operation in the Blue Raccoon. Apparently, they co-owned it, too. The club has now been closed down, but they're still denying any involvement in the crimes."
"They've always been good at keeping their hands clean, no matter what they do," Adrian said coolly. "Has the guy you handed over to the police confessed?"
"No. He keeps claiming it was all his idea. Says he's sorry for dragging your uncles' names in the mud, after all they've done for him. As you instructed, we investigated his personal ties and found out that his family went missing around the time he started working for them."
Adrian's grip tightened on the phone. "Have you found where they are hidden?"
There was a pause on the other end, like the other person didn't know how to start. "Yes… but… They're dead."
Adrian's throat went dry as he felt a wave of sadness. "All dead?"
