Chapter 30 - Elite Chunin

The former replenished his stamina, while the latter was crucial for enhancing his current abilities.

By the end of the day, Raj's Points panel showed only 1,135.

After deducting the 300 contributed by Pakkun and the Points spent, he had gained just over a hundred.

Pakkun fared even worse.

During training, he was nearly crippled by a trap and had to be summoned back for healing.

Of course, the training wouldn't end in a single day.

Raj had anticipated this, but he could also feel his strength growing - not just physically, but also in his combat skills.

"What? Kakashi is training Raj?"

That evening, Rin was stunned by the news.

Kakashi had been in her class briefly, but less than a year later,

He graduated and went to the battlefield.

Soon after, news arrived of his promotion to Chunin.

In Rin's eyes, Kakashi was an untouchable genius.

And now, this genius was training her family's cat...

"He doesn't have any other teams to join right now," Rin sighed softly. "Few combat teams are willing to take him."

"But... isn't he a genius?"

"It's complicated," Rin said heavily, showing no intention of elaborating.

Raj lay sprawled on the floor, fast asleep.

He was utterly exhausted, not just from a single day's exertion, but from days of relentless training.

The next morning, before dawn had fully broken, a knock came at the door.

Neither Rin nor Raj had yet risen.

Kakashi picked up Raj and left.

Thus began another day of frantic activity.

Raj had to fend for himself for breakfast and lunch.

With the System, food wasn't the problem.

The real issue was the humiliation and exhaustion of being chased around by that damned Kakashi.

'During the training period, I'll definitely get my revenge.'

To be fair, Kakashi was a bit of a beast, but his training methods were undeniably effective.

In just five or six days, Raj could feel his little belly shrinking, while his strength and speed had significantly increased.

Of course, this wasn't solely due to Kakashi's efforts.

By consistently eating Ninja Cat Special Food every day, Raj could sense his Chakra and physical body growing stronger.

The progress wasn't rapid, but it was certainly steady.

Pakkun, on the other hand, was far behind.

He had been severely injured on the first day and only summoned again on the third day for further training, only to end up collapsing again.

Today was the fifth day.

Logically, that foolish dog would likely encounter danger again.

When that happened, Kakashi's Shadow Clone would undoubtedly rush to Pakkun's aid, distracting the original Kakashi.

That would be Raj's chance to strike back.

'A true gentleman never leaves a grudge unsettled.'

When the trio arrived at the Forest of Death, Raj resumed his training as usual, raiding bird nests and squirrel dens, occasionally teasing stray dogs he encountered.

The Forest of Death was in utter chaos, with its inhabitants living in constant fear wherever the Little Black Cat went.

There was no other choice.

In this place, failing to find a way to earn Points would result in a daily deficit of at least four hundred.

At this rate, its entire savings would be depleted in just two days, not to mention the impossibility of exchanging for more Ninjutsu.

As it moved, it patiently waited for the right moment.

Kakashi remained oblivious to the Little Black Cat's ulterior motives, continuing to stalk and pursue it from the shadows as before.

Suddenly, a series of piercing dog howls echoed from nearby.

'Pakkun's in danger?'

Kakashi immediately tensed.

Though Pakkun was the weakest of the Eight Ninja Dogs, he served as their commander and strategist.

If Pakkun were to die, it would be a loss Kakashi would never be able to recover from.

Distracted by this concern, Raj seized the opportunity.

Chakra surged, activating the Body Flicker Technique!

Ninja Cats were naturally swift, and Raj had spent the past few days honing its speed to its current potential.

With Chakra enhancement, it now moved at a level comparable to a Chunin.

By the time Kakashi reacted, a black blur had already streaked overhead.

'What was that?'

He was initially puzzled, but his expression quickly shifted to horror as he leaped to his feet and bolted away - too late.

Though he dodged swiftly, a speck of cat feces still landed on him.

It wasn't the feces itself that mattered, but the stench.

"Meow~"

A taunting meow echoed from a nearby tree.

The Black Cat perched there, gazing down at him with arrogant disdain.

"That's why... I hate cats!" Kakashi's face remained hidden behind his mask, but his voice was unusually harsh as he surged forward, closing in on Raj with sudden speed.

Raj immediately fled.

Its speed now rivaled Kakashi's, and its agility slightly surpassed his.

Of course, this advantage held only as long as Kakashi refrained from using Lightning Release Chakra to stimulate his body's activity and accelerate his movements.

If he were to accelerate...

'What the hell?!'

Raj weaved through the dense jungle, darting toward a nearby cliff.

The forest terrain favored cats.

While ninjas were agile, Raj was a Ninja Cat, pushing itself to its absolute limit.

For now, it was a true match for Kakashi.

"Damn cat!"

Kakashi couldn't keep up for a moment, gritting his teeth as he drew his White Fang Short Sword.

When branches blocked his path, he slashed them aside to avoid wasting time.

Yet even so, the Little Black Cat's petite frame allowed it to slip through gaps he couldn't follow.

Leaping onto a branch, Kakashi nearly lost his footing, slipping on a fresh pile of excrement.

This was Raj's calling card from the previous day.

"Six hundred Points in one go - perfect!" Raj purred contentedly.

'At this very moment, an Elite Chunin is chasing me, yet he can't lay a finger on me. Why? Because I'm faster in the forest.'

Of course, cats excel in bursts of speed; in terms of endurance, Kakashi would undoubtedly outlast him.

His destination: the narrow crevice in the high cliff.

He sprinted forward, Kakashi tearing through the undergrowth behind him.

After stepping in two more piles of excrement, Kakashi was truly enraged.

But before he could catch up, Raj swiftly scaled the cliff face and squeezed into the crevice.

Kakashi followed closely, but he couldn't fit through the narrow opening.

The rock crevice was too narrow.

Kakashi coldly eyed the cat hiding inside, then silently summoned the remaining seven ninja dogs.

This was the first time Raj had seen all eight Ninja Dogs together, but the situation hardly pleased him.

After a quick assessment, he concluded that only the youngest one or two dogs might pose a challenge; the rest were simply too strong.

'What to do...?'

"Woof! Woof! Woof!"

"Woof! Woof!"

"..."

The seven dogs barked furiously, their barks roughly translating to "Come out!" and "Don't hide, you little coward!" - at least, that was Raj's interpretation.
