Chapter 77 - Chapter 77: Plan Changes

He had expected Sylvanas to snort coldly and walk away with the finished enchanted arrows. But something unexpected happened.

"Thank you, Leylin." Sylvanas said calmly, her tone softening.

Leylin looked at the Ranger General in surprise and said, "You're welcome. If you need work like this again, whether during wartime or in normal times, I'll help you, and I won't charge."

"I won't ask you to give me enchanted arrows, not now, not ever," the stubborn Ranger General said.

Leylin smiled, gathered the tools on his workbench, and said goodbye to the Ranger General, "As you wish. I need to go find my team members now."

Watching Leylin's receding figure, Sylvanas stood there in a daze, clutching the magic package in her hand, wondering what she was thinking.

"Ranger General, everyone's gone, why are you still looking here?" Lor'themar stood behind Sylvanas, unable to suppress the smile in his heart.

Since becoming Ranger General Sylvanas's second in command, this was the first time he'd seen the general lose her composure over a male creature.

Hearing Lor'themar's voice, Sylvanas straightened her chest again. Her tall, lean frame stood before Lor'themar, and she asked stiffly, "How long have you been here?"

"Five minutes, I suppose? I've been waiting for the Ranger General to speak."

Her azure eyes shifted slightly. Sylvanas took a deep breath, then turned from the direction Leylin had disappeared and asked, "What did you say just now?"

Looking at the Ranger General's stern face, even the most honest Lor'themar should have understood. "Five minutes, yes, that's five minutes," Lor'themar said with a simple smile.

Without waiting for Sylvanas to speak, he continued, "From now on, leave missions like this to me. As our Ranger General, you have more important things to attend to. There's no need to waste time on a mage like Leylin, especially not at this critical moment before the battle."

"Lor'themar, you seem to know a lot?" Sylvanas pounded her fist against Lor'themar's mailed chest.

Stepping back, Lor'themar shook his head and said, "I have other things to attend to. I'll return to camp."

After the Ranger General's second in command left, the Ranger General breathed a sigh of relief and said calmly, "Lor'themar is right. Why would I come in person for something like this? Why..."

As night fell, Leylin, Aminel, and Tyr'ganal emerged from the temple. The three mages were fully dressed. To support the main army, each wore a tight, comfortable suit.

Leylin wore his finely crafted eclectic mage robes and Tyr'ganal wore classic mage robes, but Aminel was different. Compared to her previous ornate mage robes, these garments perfectly concealed her graceful figure.

Indeed, rangers like Vereesa don't expose their chests and legs every day, do they? Those beautiful, revealing transmogrified outfits can only be seen in-game.

The mage squad, waiting at the camp outside the sanctum as usual, was originally scheduled to accompany this ranger group.

At that moment, Azeroth's moon had already passed the center of the sky, and Thalorien Dawnseeker hadn't issued any orders yet. It seemed the plan had changed.

Leylin's suspicions were correct. He and Tyr'ganal exchanged a glance, then gazed toward the entrance to the Sanctum of the Sun, where faint magical streetlights illuminated a pair of approaching elves.

Leading the group was Magister Rommath, leading a group of mages from the Silvermoon Council, followed by four lords and the Ranger Captain, Alleria Windrunner.

After these leaders arrived at the Sanctum of the Sun, all the leaders of the war gathered.

"It seems the plan has changed." Aminel twirled the shimmering orb in her hand, having just enchanted it.

Tyr'ganal leaned against the tree with a nonchalant look on his face. He said, "No matter what changes are made to the battle plan, we will just wait for the execution. This has nothing to do with us."

Aminel glanced at Leylin and asked, "What about you? What do you think?"

Leylin, who had been in a daze, suddenly brightened up. A happy smile appeared on his originally dull face.

Aminel thought this guy had some new ideas. Before Leylin could speak, Leylin walked straight to the outside of the temple.

"Him! I was wondering why he was so happy all of a sudden. It turns out that he went to see his lover."Aminel rolled her eyes at Leylin and squeezed the magic ball in her palm fiercely.

Tyr'ganal saw Vereesa and understood roughly. "Everyone knows about this. Why are you reacting so strongly? Are you jealous?" Tyr'ganal said, as if he was afraid that the world would not be in chaos.

"Shut up!"

"Don't worry about it. If you like Leylin, just tell him. If I were a woman, I'd chase Leylin too. After all, he's not married. Besides, what's the big deal about being married? Is there any hard and fast law in elven society that only allows monogamy?" Tyr'ganal said.

Aminel, not knowing who she was angry with, said excitedly, "Pfft, pfft, who's going after him? Who does he think he is?"

Tyr'ganal tapped Frank's chest and said, "Hehe, buddy, this isn't going to go well. Let's hide for now."

He walked towards Vereesa. Within a few steps, Vereesa spotted Leylin. She greeted the ranger at the front of the group, whispered a few words, and then left.

Carrying her golden longbow, Vereesa took Leylin's hand and ran a few more steps into the forest.

In the pitch-black forest, silent and dark, unseen by other elves, the couple embraced each other tightly.

"This is the first time we've met in two months. I hate you, Leylin." Vereesa cast aside her ranger identity and hid in Leylin's arms. She was always the gentle and lovely little sister.

Leylin's hands stroked Vereesa's tired face and said, "Yes, two months."

"You've changed, my silly boy." Vereesa looked at her beloved and found that his skin was no longer fair, and the originally thin and weak mage had become more robust. Vereesa stroked Leylin's toned chest with her hands and said quietly.

"Let's not talk about this for now. What mission are you and your squad currently undertaking? Is everything alright in Farstrider Enclave?" Leylin asked.

Vereesa was a little angry. This bad guy, didn't he know how to let herself enjoy this moment of tenderness?

Eventually, Vereesa understood Leylin's intentions. He was now also a formal mage in the army. He wanted to know such things, which meant that he always remembered his responsibilities as a mage.

"Well, the trolls sent nearly 10,000 soldiers this time. Their movements were very big, as if they were going to fight us to the death!"
