Chapter 87 - Chapter 87 Do You Think I'm a Fool?

After watching Sylvanas leave the Sanctum of the Sun, Leylin was about to return to the Thalassian Army to prepare a battle plan.

But as soon as Leylin turned around, he saw a beautiful, fair face. Aminel looked at Leylin with resentment.

"Did you hear everything I just said?" Leylin asked with a wry smile.

Aminel snorted coldly and said, "What do you think? I'm not deaf."

"It's okay, you don't have to obey her orders. Our team's mission will continue as usual." Leylin said naturally.

Without continuing Leylin's words, Aminel smiled coldly, "It can be seen that this self-righteous Ranger General likes you."

"Do you think I'm so charming that a Ranger General would fall in love with me?" Leylin waved his hand, indicating that Aminel was joking.

"Leylin! Do you think I'm a fool?" Aminel suddenly felt a little wronged. She recalled that Leylin had always tried his best to help this Ranger General, so she should understand Leylin's thoughts.

Seeing Aminel's pitiful expression, her eyelids drooping, Leylin said gently, "What's wrong? Why are you so angry?"

"You like Sylvanas too, right?" Aminel asked, her chest puffed out with courage, her eyes fixed on Leylin.

This question made Leylin laugh and cry. Coming from a mage, anyone who didn't know better might have mistaken her for a little girl.

"We're not children. Why are we saying such childish things? Since you're asking, why don't you just ask me directly if I like you?" Leylin said, maintaining a smile.

This guy! Aminel's initial anger was extinguished by Leylin's words. Aminel lowered her forehead, rubbing the mage robes she had just changed into. "Then tell me, do you like me?"

Leylin didn't answer directly. Instead, he took Aminel's hand and said, "Let's keep it a secret. I'll tell you at this year's fireworks show."

Aminel blushed, and her breasts trembled beneath her robes. She first held Leylin's hand tightly, then gritted her teeth and slammed it aside cruelly.

"Then I'll wait for you. If you don't give me an answer, I will go to Vereesa myself to explain it to her." Aminel raised her fist and threatened Leylin.

After returning to the camp of the Thalassian Army, the soldiers of the army stood up and saluted Leylin. Commander Thalorien was away, and Leylin, as the deputy commander, was their highest in command.

This was not the first time the soldiers had seen this deputy commander. They had seen the strength of this mage and recognized him as their leader.

Leylin pressed his hand and motioned the soldiers to sit down. This leader was very easygoing. The soldiers had never been treated like this when they followed Commander Thalorien.

Seeing that the soldiers were still standing, Leylin did not force it. After all, these were soldiers under Commander Thalorien. In their eyes, military discipline was very important.

"This time, our mission is to accompany the Farstriders in combat. As the advance force, our attack carries considerable risk. Everyone, prepare well. Leave the enchanting and repairing of weapons and shields to me." said Leylin.

After verbally outlining the upcoming battle mission and direction, Leylin spent the entire afternoon preparing the soldiers' weapons with the mage team.

Tyr'ganal was responsible for repairing the holy shields with materials, while Aminel enchanted the weapons, and Leylin assisted them.

That night, a weary Leylin was no longer idle. He had to go to the Sanctum of the Sun to procure food and water for his army. The troops he led weren't like frontal troops.

Often, the Thalassian Army would shift their mission objectives and split into small groups to attack the trolls.

Therefore, every soldier needed to carry the necessary food and water. After completing the food preparation, Leylin prepared to return to camp. However, a familiar face kept him at the Sanctum of the Sun.

"Teacher?" Leylin led Frank towards Grand Magister Belo'vir.

Upon arriving at the sanctum, Grand Magister Belo'vir was met by his proud student. He walked over and said, "After a month, you've grown a lot, my student. It seems your own learning is far superior to my guidance."

Leylin nodded modestly, a flicker of humility in his expression, though his eyes betrayed the storm of newfound power within. The fires of his recent battles still burned brightly in his aura, a testament to how far he had come in such a short span.

Belo'vir chuckled softly, a deep sound that echoed through the sanctum's vaulted ceilings. "You've surpassed even my expectations. Your progress is a testament to your dedication, your innate talent, and perhaps, a hint of the destiny that awaits you."

As Leylin stood before Grand Magister Belo'vir, the ancient mage's eyes sparkled with a hint of caution and wisdom. Belo'vir's gaze seemed to see beyond the immediate present, into the realm of strategy and tactical maneuvering that would soon unfold on the battlefield.

"Zul'Aman's trolls are no ordinary foes, Leylin," Belo'vir began, his voice low and measured. "Their witchcraft can be formidable, and it would be wise to be prepared for their dark magic. They have a particular affinity for summoning and binding spirits, which they can use to augment their physical prowess and unleash devastating attacks."

Belo'vir paused, studying Leylin intently. "You will need to keep a sharp eye out for signs of their magic, particularly the ritualistic patterns they use to call upon the spirits. These patterns will often be accompanied by a faint aura of dark energy, which you can sense through your connection to the arcane. If you notice this energy building, be prepared to act swiftly, as it can signal the start of a powerful attack."

He leaned forward, his voice taking on a more urgent tone. "Additionally, the trolls are known to be highly adaptable and cunning foes. They will likely try to use their knowledge of the land and their own unique abilities to outmaneuver us. Be prepared for them to employ stealth and deception, as well as direct confrontation. You will need to remain vigilant at all times, using your keen senses and tactical acumen to stay one step ahead of them."

Belo'vir straightened, his eyes burning with intensity. "As you lead the charge into Zul'Aman, keep in mind that the trolls will likely be strongest near their territory's central nexus. This nexus is a focal point of their dark magic, and it will be the key to unlocking their full potential. You will need to make arrangements for your army to counter their movements effectively, perhaps by dividing your forces or employing specific tactics to disrupt their coordination."

He handed Leylin a small, intricately carved wooden box adorned with ancient runes. "This contains a few...gifts from me to aid you in your mission. Within, you will find a set of enchanted arrows imbued with a minor banishing spell, which should help you counter the trolls' spirit magic. Also included are a few scrolls detailing various strategies and counters that I have found useful against these foes in the past. Study them well, and may they bring you success in your endeavors."

Leylin accepted the box with reverence, feeling a surge of gratitude towards his mentor. He knew that with Belo'vir's guidance and these tools at his disposal, he could face the challenges of Zul'Aman with a newfound sense of confidence and purpose.
