Chapter 146 - Chapter 146 Nightborne Capital, Suramar

This brand-new area was a mystery even to Leylin. Despite his extensive knowledge, he couldn't recall or identify the name of this place.

The only clue he had was a faint hint of Night Elf architecture woven into the design of the buildings—graceful, curved lines, intricate carvings, and a natural elegance that suggested ancient, mystical origins.

Above the city, Leylin's keen senses detected a complex network of energy veins—an immense, interconnected web of power that resembled the one over Quel'Thalas. Unlike ordinary creatures, Leylin's perceptive eyes could see this barrier-like energy system, a shimmering lattice of raw arcane and mystical energy that pulsed with life.

This system acted as a barrier, a conduit, and a source of immense power—an invisible force field that kept the city's secrets hidden from the outside world.

Within this city, Leylin sensed an artifact of extraordinary magnitude. Its energy was unlike typical arcane energy though similar, it possessed subtle differences that set it apart.

Leylin's senses told him that this energy was a derivative of arcane power, perhaps a new or unique form, infused with ancient magic or lost knowledge. The artifact's energy was potent, pulsating with a rhythm that hinted at its immense and possibly dangerous power.

The smooth wooden planks slowly approached the shore. To avoid unnecessary trouble, Leylin avoided the city's main gate. From a distance, Leylin could see the city's neat streets and squares, suggesting a race inhabited the area.

As an unfamiliar species, Leylin's sudden appearance before these creatures made it difficult to guarantee he wouldn't be captured and subjected to bizarre experiments.

Circling around the city, Leylin found a place to rest. Passing through a dense palm forest, Leylin sensed other creatures within. This awareness quickly provided him with the answer.

From the lush bushes ahead, a tall creature with horns on its forehead punched Leylin in the head. Sensing danger, Leylin instinctively raised his arms to block the incoming attack.

Having blocked the strike but it still managed to push him back a few meters, Leylin leaned against the city wall, calmly observing the creature before him.

"A Tauren?" Leylin tried to remember some stuff within his memories, from what he knew there were certain types of tauren located within the broken isles but they should be somewhere up north. How could there be Tauren here? And this particular Tauren, with his robust build and sturdy leather armor, looked like a skilled warrior.

The Tauren standing opposite to Leylin also looked at him suspiciously: How did he know I was a Tauren? Could it be that there were other races like us elsewhere besides this region?

"You outsider who awakened the demons, get off this land!" The tauren raised his fist at Leylin.

It seemed that the continent that rose in the south last night had also attracted the attention of the creatures on this continent. Sargeras's Tomb had resurfaced; those demons would definitely return to this island to cause trouble for the natives.

However, Leylin didn't immediately engage this unfamiliar Tauren. He was quite unfamiliar with this island, so he needed to obtain information about it first.

"No, everything you're thinking is wrong. You should listen to my explanation." Leylin calmed himself and began to speak with the unfamiliar tauren warrior.

It was common knowledge that minotaurs were a peace-loving race; war was never central to their culture.

Sensing no hostility from this strange creature, nor sensing the faint trace of dishonesty, the tauren warrior looked at Leylin with suspicion and said, "But you come from the southern seas, and I saw what happened last night. Five hundred years ago, the demon sealed within this ruined temple was awakened by you! Look at that land rising again—it's all your doing!"

Leylin refused to take the blame, gesturing for him to calm down, and said, "Indeed, I come from the southern seas, but I wasn't the one who raised this temple to sea level. Perhaps you could see the shadowy power floating around it yesterday, right?" Leylin tried to explain to the tauren that he was a good person by using different forms of energy.

Not quite understanding, the tauren looked at Leylin with confusion. He said, "If you can use energy different from that dark power, I'll believe you!"

After a short, deep breath, Leylin slowly closed his eyes. A second later, Leylin suddenly opened his eyes, a pale purple magical glow appearing in them. Flame energy floated in his left hand, while arcane energy swirled in his right.

The tauren instinctively took a few steps back. He looked into the ruined temple and said, "Why can you use the same energy as these Nightborne elves, you strange creature! It was because of these magical calamities that our ancestors suffered immense disaster. Regardless, I will still capture you and take you back to Highmountain."

Everyone says tauren are humble and friendly, but this tauren is the complete opposite of it.

Leylin gestured for him to stop his violent actions, saying, "Wait, you mean the elves living in this city behind me are Nightborne elves?" Leylin then recalled that the city of the nightborne elves was called Suramar. So, he was currently located at the central part of the Broken Isles.

The tauren clenched his fists, shook his head, and said, "You don't need to know that much. You just need to know that you are all creatures who bring disaster to this world."

Actually, the tauren wasn't quite sure about Leylin's question either. He was just a young tauren shaman from the Rivermane tribe, and he wasn't very good at studying the tribe's history. His favorite things were often hunting and exploring.

Otherwise, he wouldn't have found such a strange creature here.

Leylin didn't want to fight him. To demonstrate his power, Leylin directly released a powerful pressure. Under the surging magical power, the tauren witnessed the creature's body energize. He withdrew his fist, coughed lightly, and said, "What do you want? If you want to fight, then come at me."

Seeing his tense expression, Leylin withdrew the pressure. "You don't need to be so nervous. I'm a human from the eastern continent. I'm not your enemy."

A human? Is he a race like the taurens? Judging from appearance, their physiques are similar. However, this human looks much smoother; at least he doesn't have brown fur and rough skin nor any horns.

"But the magic you use disgusts me. Like these elves, you use these wicked spells to summon demons!"

"Wait! Hide!" Leylin heard steady footsteps on the street outside the castle. The tauren seemed terrified of the Nightborne elves; he quickly hid in the bushes.

But when he saw this creature called a human standing there, seemingly oblivious, he really wanted to punch him unconscious and drag him into the bushes. You jinx, are you trying to kill me?!
