Deep within the very heart of the Star Dou Forest, at the far end of Xinghu Lake, an ice spring quietly gathered the essence of heaven and earth. Mist lingered thickly above the water, dancing upward like ethereal ribbons. The chilly air carried an almost sacred weight.
"Who am I?"
"Where am I?"
"Where am I going?"
Northern Jiangsu muttered drunkenly into the fog. Staring at the fairy-like mist, at the pool glittering with blooming ice lotuses, he recited humanity's most classic three questions of existential collapse.
Just an hour ago, he had been somewhere very different. With alcohol lending him courage, he pulled his girlfriend into joining his brothers for a "thrilling" haunted escape room experience. Scary enough to make someone scream? Sure. Scripted terror? Of course.
But when the plot reached its climax—suspense snapping every nerve, fake birds startling, and beastly roars echoing in the hall—his girlfriend had panicked. And instead of rushing into his arms for comfort… she flung herself into his brother's embrace.
Not his arms. His brother's.
In that moment, Subei felt as if snow had been falling silently in his chest, leaving him to stand alone in a bleak winter landscape. Background music should've been playing right then, something tragic, something about cutting plum blossoms in cold wind.
He understood.
Men and women—dogs, all of them.
With bitter resolve, he decided to finish the drinking game. Maybe he'd sleep through his heartbreak, or maybe he'd nurse his fury into a cruel, perfect revenge plan. Either way, when he opened the next door in that haunted house, he had been ready to end things.
But who could've guessed? The very next moment—he found himself here.
"…Where's the door?"
Su Bei turned around, his drunk voice trembling, but all he saw was endless fog. No neon lights. No fake props. No decor.
"Don't tell me a 98-yuan ticket could buy this level of realism?" he muttered, rubbing his eyes.
"Isn't this… a dream?"
To test it, he pinched his own cheek. Smooth. Soft. Pain shot sharp and real. He shuddered from head to toe.
That shouldn't feel like this. That pain wasn't from a dream.
Blinking toward the icy water, he spotted a reflection—a beautiful yet immature child's face gazing back at him. His heart thumped. He touched his cheek, murmuring incredulously.
"This… this face… Sleeping slot, no way. This is really me? Damn—it's gorgeous!"
Six or seven years old. A child. A ridiculously handsome child.
Lips like pearls, eyebrows sharp as swords, eyes shining brighter than stars, teeth as polished as jade. He looked taken right out of a poet's verse or an ancient painting.
No face like this should exist in the world.
Even he wanted to marry himself if he were a woman!
"What's going on?" Subei stammered, reeling. He couldn't find the line between dream and reality anymore.
Unless…
A thought struck his hazy mind like lightning.
"No way… Did my role choice come true?"
In the escape room game, hadn't he chosen the character background of "peerless beauty who bewilders all living beings"? If that face really matched his card… then wasn't this confirmation?
Before he could piece it together, a thunderous voice echoed through the mist:
"Who dares intrude into the forbidden ground without permission?"
The chill of it iced his bones. It wasn't just a sound—it was pressure, heavy and ancient. And hidden within… was that… the faint ringing of a dragon's song?
From the depths of the spring, water erupted. A massive creature rose, body like a mountain, scales gleaming under phantom light. Long whiskers drifted like storms, and purple eyes glowed with terrifying majesty.
A Silver Dragon.
A real one.
"D… D-Dragon!"
Su Bei's handsome little face twitched violently. Stunned, he gaped. Dragons weren't supposed to exist outside of myths, fantasy dramas, or sci-fi movies. Yet here it was—scales shimmering, breath misting the air, wisdom burning in eyes as large as wagon wheels, bearing down on him with divine presence.
He was about to faint.
And then words tumbled out of his drunken mouth:
"C-can I… touch you?"
His hands shook. Touching a real dragon—wasn't that the kind of brag that carried you a whole lifetime?
The Silver Dragon stirred the water, sending ripples outward. Her sharp gaze softened ever so slightly as she looked him over.
This child… how beautiful.
Those bright, curious eyes—like an innocent baby—made her feel almost… shy.
A blush, soft and pink, touched the terrifying dragon's face.
Wait. I'm a dragon… Aren't humans supposed to be ugly creatures?
She suddenly doubted her own racial aesthetics.
She had planned to punish this trespasser brutally. But looking at him, her resolve melted like spring snow.
In silence, she sank back into the fog. Then her voice came again, unexpectedly gentle:
"Human, let's pretend our first meeting didn't count. Let us begin again."
"???"
Three giant question marks filled Su Bei's head. This dragon… seemed weird.
This… this was actually a play-dragon?!
Dizzy from the thought, Subei muttered, "Just some touching, what's the big deal? Like petting a cat, petting a dragon. Same thing!"
He fished in his pocket, finding his half-bottle of Jiang Xiaobai liquor. Heavy. Comforting. Sad.
"Forget it. Even a dragon disdains me," he sighed, flopping onto a wet rock by the spring. Raising his voice, he called toward the water, "At least tell me where this is! Was I chosen from billions by some time-space controller? Or did I fall into a wormhole?"
He dipped his toes into the spring and nearly yelped.
"…Holy crap, that's cold!"
Before he could adjust, a new presence emerged.
A girl.
Or rather—a goddess-like figure. Long silver hair, eyes glowing violet, flawless jade skin, and a white-gold robe embroidered with red weaving down her graceful figure. Two silver wings sparkled faintly on her back. She walked across the surface of the water as though it were solid ground.
Stopping before him, she gazed down proudly. A delicate blush colored her cheeks as she introduced herself.
"I am Gu Yuena. And you?"
"Su… Subei…" he stammered, dumbstruck immediately.
Gu Yuena. The name rang in his skull like a golden bell. He knew that name. He had heard it in novels—Douluo Continent. The Silver Dragon King.
"This is… the Star Dou Great Forest?" he asked.
Her lips curved slyly, flashing tiny tiger-like teeth as she crossed her arms. "You pretend not to know? Foolish human! This is my territory. Do you not realize how terrible I am?"
He blinked.
"…Star Dou Great Forest? Gu Yuena… Douluo Continent?"
The reality hit him like thunder.
He had crossed over.
Names and images raced through his memory—Tang San, Spirit Hall, Bibi Dong, Qian Renxue, Hu Liena, Huo Yuhao, Tang Wutong… The endless tapestry of that world. But which timeline had he landed in? Had Tang San already ascended as a God? Had Huo Yuhao taken the Tianmeng Spirit?
No matter what, this was real.
And terrifying.
"What do you want from me?" he whispered nervously.
Danger and opportunity—two sides of the same coin. Crossing into a fantasy world was thrilling, but it could also end in death.
Gu Yuena tilted her head sweetly, though her words brimmed with pride. "Very well, Subei. I forgive you for trespassing in my domain. Come, give me your hand."
Before he could react, her cold slender fingers slid into his. His small palm, hot and trembling, pressed against hers. Time halted.
"So bold?" he muttered, unable to resist.
Gu Yuena's eyes glittered as she asked, "What do you think?"
Her meaning was clear enough—this mighty dragon was humbling herself, and yet he dared hesitate?!
"No!" Su Bei froze, overwhelmed. She was too fierce. Too unstoppable.
The next moment, his body suddenly lifted up into the air, as if carried by invisible might.
This was Gu Yuena. The ultimate existence of soul beasts. He knew her identity—the Silver Dragon King, heir to the Creation God's divinity. In ancient times, the Dragon God had split into Creation and Destruction. Gu Yuena was the one who held dominion over creation itself.
Such an awe-inspiring existence… and now, with a sudden mischievous smile tugging at her lips and her tiger-like teeth flashing, she declared:
"Marry me, and I'll raise you."
Su Bei nearly swallowed his tongue. Marry?? Raised??
Before he could find words, another voice—mechanical, cheerful—popped up in his mind:
[biu~ Supreme Male God System binding…]
