Chapter 78 - Zi Ji, The Demon Dragon King

Moonlight spilled silver across the treetops.

Out of the shadows, a figure stepped forth—a woman whose allure could unmake armies.

Her skin was pale as snow save for patches of purple-black scales glinting faintly. Shoulders bare, a plunging neckline revealed twin ravines framed by armor-like scales shimmering violet in the starlight. Long, midnight-purple hair rippled down her back though no breeze stirred the forest.

Her lips were stained a venom-bright violet, her eyes deep as a well of amethyst, and on her forehead burned a black scale, radiating concentric halos of purple light.

Tang Hao stiffened instantly. A woman… with the aura of a beast. Equal to him in power, if not greater. His hammer-hand wavered.

"Ziji."

Subei's delicate face cracked into a rare smile. The blood of the Dragon King in his body answered hers, a tone of resonance deeper than flesh.

With a lazy sweep, Zi Ji's soul power brushed Tang Hao's suppression aside and strode to Subei. She scooped him into her arms effortlessly, pressing his slim chest against her full peaks.

Her coquettish eyes sparkled as she pinched his chin. "My Lord, you called me sister just now… and now? You've changed your tone so soon?"

This was the Star Dou. Her domain.

Subei chuckled but said nothing, leaning comfortably into her warmth.

Zi Ji's lips curved, and she pressed a kiss to his cheek, leaving behind a faint purple mark that gleamed under moonlight.

At that touch:

[System prompt: kissed by Zi Ji, Fierce Beast of the Top Ten, the host receives the following rewards.]

① Dark Dragon King bloodline unlocked – merging with Light Dragon blood. Yin-Yang dual blood complete. Physical strength doubled.

② Host's soul power forced breakthrough: level 30.

③ Three Dragon Cores awarded. Feeding these to dragon-type beasts or summons can dramatically enhance their cultivation.

"Level 30 already…" Subei whispered in disbelief, as soul force pulsed hotter through his veins. At eight years old… a Great Soul Master. An absurdity unmatched.

Within his mind's eye, two dragons—one dark, savage and cruel; one pure, white and holy—twined above him, breathing silver mist into a pearl, before vanishing back into his core. The taste of evolutions to come.

Tang San watched, pupils wide, misunderstanding painting across his face. This mysterious beauty must be one of Teacher's father's hidden friends… so powerful, so protective. Teacher truly has great ties even beyond Spirit Hall.

Unable to pierce Zi Ji's nature with his still-developing Purple Demon Eye, Tang San could not see the truth: a soul beast queen in human guise, smothering his beloved Teacher in her embrace.

Tang Hao's jaw tightened. He scoured his memory for her identity: scales, draconic lines, pressure like a fierce beast. But no record returned. His conclusion chilled his blood.

A true dragon. A survivor.

"Who… exactly are you?" Tang Hao demanded, Haotian Hammer manifesting in his palm again, rings swirling with killing intent.

Zi Ji laughed. The sound curdled the air—sweet, taunting, lethal. Her thighs moved like a predator's coils as she tilted her head.

"If I said…" She pressed Subei's cheek teasingly against her bosom, "…that I am his future wife, would you believe me?"

Tang Hao faltered, horror flickering across his face. "He is still a child!"

"Child? Hah." Zi Ji sneered. "What do you know of true love, hammer brute? You swing metal, but understand not hearts. I pursue what delights me. That is all."

Then her eyes sharpened, dripping contempt. "Besides, you dared intimidate my fiancé just now. Tell me—how should I calculate that debt?"

Her aura detonated. Dragon's might, pure and oppressive, rushed forth far heavier than the Titan Ape's.

Tang Hao staggered. Sweat broke over his temple. This aura… she's not weaker than a Level 97 Super Douluo. To think such a being walked unseen beneath the stars…

Summoning all his might, the Haotian Nine Rings erupted at his heels. He glared coldly. "Even if you are strong, do not think Tang Hao fears!"

But secretly, he seethed. To fight now would rouse Bibi Dong's pursuit as well. If she arrives… it will be my death.

Zi Ji's lips parted in mockery. She extended a palm, releasing a glowing violet-black orb. It expanded into a whirling vortex that wrapped him and Tang San.

"The Swallowing Dragon Domain. Let's see how long you stand in my maw."

Tang Hao's footing faltered, and he felt vitality itself tugged toward her. His hammer plunged like lead, his body dragged.

He bellowed as he smote downward violently, detonating force—just barely carving a crack in the pull. Taking the chance, he snatched Tang San against his chest and vaulted back into the forest.

His back was drenched in cold sweat. But before he leapt fully away, his harsh voice lingered:

"Demoness, gloat while you can. Today you may block me. But one day Tang Hao will repay every ounce of shame I suffer tonight. In double!"

His figure faded into the black canopy, hammer dissolving from sight.

Only Tang San's pained cry lingered in the clearing:

"Teacher! One life, one teacher! Even if I must leave now with Father… I will return to follow you, always!"

Zi Ji's purple eyes softened. She kissed Subei's ear with malicious intimacy. "There, my little lord. The loud man is gone. And your disciple has sworn himself to you regardless."

For the first time in the night, the forest exhaled peace again.

Subei only sighed faintly, brushing where Zi Ji's kiss still lingered. Tang Hao… you thought to cage me. But you've seen tonight: I am not some wood for your hammer. Even the stars bend to guard me.
