The desert stretched behind them, sun low, sand still warm underfoot. Lucien, Kairo, Ashveil, Zarynth, Veythar, and the last Revenant stood together, six silhouettes against the fading light. The final Revenant—tall, imposing, with silver-black energy pulsing around his body—finally spoke.
"I am Caelthorn," he said, voice deep and resonant. "You know the rest. I've brought you to a place far from this world, isolated. A place where we can move beyond limitations… and master the true nature of the void."
Lucien tilted his head, eyes narrowing. "Why you? Why lead us here?"
Caelthorn's silver-black void rippled around him like liquid night. "Because I've always moved in the shadows, observing, waiting. And now… it is time we all understand our connection—our kinship—and the source that binds us. Only when we are complete can we face the greater threats waiting beyond this world."
Kairo smirked. "Sounds ominous. I like it."
Ashveil's shadows stretched toward the horizon. "Then let's not waste time talking."
Arrival at the Training Field
A sudden flash of distorted air enveloped them, and in a blink, the six Revenants stood on an enormous plateau floating above a swirling void. The ground was a polished obsidian that reflected the sky, which swirled with colors that didn't exist anywhere else. Mountains of jagged crystal rose like teeth around the perimeter, and the air hummed with latent void energy. This was the isolated training field—a realm outside reality, shaped and held together by Caelthorn's void.
"This place," Caelthorn explained, "exists in the interstice between worlds. Time flows differently. Energy flows freely, unbound by any law of physics. You will learn, test, and grow here."
Zarynth flexed his fingers, violet void flickering. "Finally… somewhere we can push limits without breaking the world."
Lucien's White shimmered faintly. "And what exactly are we mastering?"
Caelthorn's silver-black void extended like a ribbon around them. "Everything. The White. Bloodsteel. Shadows. Chaos. And the void that resides in each of you. For six months, you will train without interference, without restraint. And you will discover why you are bound, why your kinship prevents true harm between you, and how your voids are connected to the source itself."
The Six Months of Training
The training began immediately. Each Revenant pushed the others physically, mentally, and spiritually. The plateau became a storm of energy—flashes of White, violet chaos, bloodsteel arcs, shadows, and silver-black currents collided, intertwined, and rebounded in impossible choreography.
Lucien — The Sole Exception / White Void: Able to manipulate the fabric of reality itself, subtly bending time, gravity, and space, creating rifts, pockets of void energy, and barriers. His White responds to intent and emotion, shaping perfectly to his will, though mastery takes patience. Kairo — Bloodsteel / Crimson Void: Channels void energy into his weapon and body, creating deadly, whip-like extensions, defensive barriers, and explosive slashes. His void amplifies precision and strength, blending perfectly with the White when in sync with Lucien. Ashveil — Shadowed Void: Manipulates shadows to extend reach, create clones, and cut openings. Can move unseen or strike from unexpected angles. Shadows are partially sentient, responding to his instincts and intent, allowing fluid improvisation in combat. Zarynth — Veil / Violet Void: Chaos embodied. His void bends unpredictably, altering space and trajectory, creating traps, and launching attacks that seem random yet deliberate. Provides disruption and unpredictability, complementing coordinated attacks. Veythar — Temporal Void: Controls subtle shifts in time perception, speeding or slowing movement, anticipating attacks, and predicting outcomes based on probability. Not for offense, but perfectly suited for strategy and coordination. Caelthorn — Abyssal Void / Silver-Black: Manipulates raw void energy, creating structures, altering reality within a radius, and blending energy with all five other voids. Acts as the anchor, teaching control and the limits of their powers.
The plateau became a theater of martial mastery: flips, vaults, punches, weapon strikes, and void-based attacks, choreographed like a dance. The six moved as one when necessary, then split to test individual limits. Every day brought new understanding—how voids interacted, how their kinship resonated, why they could not truly harm one another.
Lucien noticed faint threads connecting them—intangible but undeniable—binding their power, limiting true lethality, yet amplifying synergy. Each Revenant could feel the others' intent, predict moves, and react almost instinctively. The source of their voids was a single entity, split into six distinct manifestations—hence their kinship and the inability to fully destroy one another.
The Origin of the Outer Beings
During the training, Caelthorn revealed fragments of history. "Long before our era, the source of our voids was part of a greater cosmic order. But with imbalance, fragments were scattered. Some turned outward… beyond the world, to realms untouched by mortals. These are the Outer Beings."
Outer Beings: Ancient entities existing outside the world's dimensions, born from the same source as the voids but corrupted by greed for power. They seek domination, not just of the physical world, but of void energy itself. Connection to the Six Revenants: Each Revenant embodies a pure manifestation of the source, while the Outer Beings twisted fragments into chaos and corruption. The Six are the only beings capable of resisting and balancing the Outer Beings' influence.
Lucien's gaze hardened. "So the world, the chaos, even the wars we've fought… are all threads leading to this confrontation."
Caelthorn nodded. "Exactly. The six of you together are the fulcrum. Alone, each is powerful. Together, mastery of your voids will surpass the Outer Beings' influence. That is why your kinship exists. It is not weakness—it is the ultimate safeguard."
Six Months Later — Emergence
The plateau faded, the six Revenants stepping back into the material world. Sand, wind, and sky returned. But their presence was different—each moved with perfect understanding, voids integrated, instincts sharpened, and bodies trained to react as one.
Lucien's White pulsed in harmony with Veythar's temporal shifts. Ashveil's shadows weaved seamlessly with Zarynth's chaos. Kairo's bloodsteel danced with precision through the void currents. And Caelthorn's silver-black energy radiated around them, tethering all six like an unseen web.
They were complete.
The world waited. Greater threats loomed, and the Outer Beings stirred in their distant realms, sensing the rise of the six pure manifestations.
Lucien exhaled, gripping his blade. "This… this is only the beginning. The world isn't ready for us yet. But soon, we'll show them why the Six Revenants exist."
Zarynth smirked, violet energy flickering. "I've waited a long time for this kind of chaos."
Ashveil laughed, shadows dancing around him. "And now, it's our turn to rewrite the rules."
Kairo cracked his neck, spinning his bloodsteel. "Let's make it a world worth fighting for… or at least worth breaking."
Caelthorn's voice carried, calm but resonant. "The next step is no longer training. It's action. And when the Outer Beings strike… the storm of the six will be unstoppable."
The six Revenants stood together, shadows and voids entwined, ready to face the threats beyond the world, and the final chapters of their legend were about to unfold.
