🌸 Chapter 4: Smile for me, please~

––––––––––––––––––––––––

The sky shimmered in colorful pink.

Grass swayed and the smell of vanilla and sugar hover in the air. And at the heart of it all stood Miss Feather, twirling gently in the center of a pastel road with gummy-bear benches and soft glowing lampposts.

She clapped her hands twice.

"Morning everyone! Rise and shine~! Smile like the joy and happiness is in your lovely heart~!"

Tiny footsteps echoed. One by one the guest of the Comfort Zone emerged from their marshmallow cottages, some floated down from their fluffy cloud beds and others exited from their pastel pink home.

But one thing that was common among them, was the constant smile on their face.

Every one of them was Happy, cheerful, and clean. Not a single sadness could be found.

Miss Feather hummed as she skipped towards them, with a popping sound she materialise `Happy Candy` atleast that's what she calls them. She handed them to each and every one of her guest, from adults to teenage and even children.

Age didn't matter here, what matter was living a happy life!

"One for you, and one for you~! And two for the boy who stopped crying in his sleep~! You're so brave!" She happily patted the boys head.

The boy giggle, and that made her smile more.

She poke his forehead, shimmering with light as the memories of painful moments vanished from the boys mind. Traumas faded like a chalk art washed away by the rain.

A smile painted on the boy's face, and it was a beautiful sight in her eyes.

Miss Feather did this to each and every one of her guest, she smile through it all. Everyone was safe and happy in her comfort zone.

They didn't need to worry about monster or food. The Comfort Zone has it all! It was an Utopia that everyone wanted, right?

"All of you are so lovely~! Go and play now~ Everything is here for everyone to enjoy!" Miss Feather wave them off, smiling warmly at them.

The guest happily complied, children sprinted towards the pastel playground, playing tag. Teenage floated towards the candy cloud, jumping on it like a trampoline. And adults went towards a more secluded place, having their own fun.

Of course there were exception to this, one adult join the children group, his inner child taking control. And a few children join the teenager group, jumping on the fluffy clouds like trampoline.

There were no rules here. As long as they were having fun and forget their pain. They can be happy! Forever!

Miss Feather smiled brightly, watching them all with a constant painted smile on her face.

*Step step*

Small but hesitant footstep echoed from behind Miss Feather.

She smiled and gently turn her head to see a little boy with a wary expression on his face.

"Why don't you join them sweetie~ Is it not to your liking~? I can change it if you like" Miss Feather warmly spoke, her tone patient and gentle.

Just her voice made the air warmer and the pink sky brighter. Miss Feather folded her pastel blue wings, her smile brighter then ever.

"Don't frown like that sweetie~ a frown doesn't suit a sweet boy like you~ Smile for me, please~?" Miss Feather turn to face him, speaking warmly like a elder sister.

Her smile could melt a boys heart, yet...

The boy showed disdain, he turn and walked away not speaking the question he wanted to say.

Miss Feather giggled, her smile always painted on her face. She followed after the boy closely, each step was soft and deliberate.

"Sweetie~ you don't have to be afraid~ This place is safe! I promise nothing could hurt you~"

The boy didn't payed her any attention, he continued to walk aimlessly.

He didn't know how long he had been here. There wasn't a sense of time since the sky was always bright pink.

The more he stayed, the more uncomfortable he felt.

His sister was out there surviving each night, and here he was walking aimlessly to find the exit.

How was his sister doing? Was she fine? The boy didn't know. And the more he didn't know, the more anxious and fearful he become.

Miss Feather leaned close to him while walking, a knowing smile on her face.

"Still thinking of sad things~? Isn't it painful to remember them~? I can help you be happy!"

Miss Feather raised her index finger, intending to tap his forehead lightly.

"Boop—" Miss Feathers words was cut off by the firm grip of the boy.

Just inches away from touching his forehead if he hadn't stop it.

"Don't, touch me." He said, loud and clear.

The world rippled. Both of them stopped walking. And for the first time, her smile crack. For only a moment before she chuckle.

"Oh sweetie, that wasn't nice. But its okay~ I can make you happier then anyone!" Miss Feather chimed, her smile felt uncomfortable to him.

The boy shook his head, pushing her hand away and turning around to continue walking.

"This place is a lie. Even you" He spoke, walking towards the pink forest.

He stopped and turn to look at her one last time.

"I'm leaving" He walked into the forest, vanishing from her sight.

Miss Feather stood there, her smile brighter then ever. But the light around her dimmed slightly. The music slowed and the sky was darker then yesterday.

"You can't leave. No one ever leaves unhappy~" Miss Feather warmly spoke.

She turn away, gazing at the happy children playing on the carousel. Their happiness made her smile even more.

Miss Feather stared at the pink sky, her eyes sparkled and the sky become brighter again.

And she smiled.

She always smiled.

"He will understand eventually~ That happiness could only survive here then the outside world"

Miss Feather chuckle.

He'll give in eventually, she just needed to guide him. By than, he'll be happy without any memories of the painful reality.

A faint cry entered her ear.

"Oh dear, someone is scared. Don't worry sweetie~ Miss Feather is coming~!" She softly spoke.

Her wings fluttered and she vanish from her spot.
