Chapter 45 - Chapter 45: Jogo's Exit

"Why hasn't he returned after so long? Nothing bad happened, did it?"

"If the opponent is that monster Gojo Satoru... it would be bad if he got caught."

"I'll wait another half-day. If there's still no news... I'll have to go check things out."

Inside an unknown, abandoned underground passage, half a day had already passed since the agreed meeting time, and Jogo was anxiously awaiting news.

Ever since falling into Unlimited Void and experiencing Gojo Satoru's power, Jogo had been like someone with PTSD, left with severe psychological trauma.

It was willing to assist Kenjaku because it knew it was certainly no match for Gojo Satoru; encountering that guy meant no chance of survival.

The abandoned underground passage was unusually quiet, and as time ticked by, its unease steadily grew.

Just as it impatiently prepared to leave, it sensed a familiar surge of Cursed Energy appear. That was…

"You're back, Suguru Geto."

Recognizing the other party, Jogo breathed a sigh of relief. Gojo Satoru's oppressive presence was too overwhelming for it; the image of that individual 'gently' plucking off its head was still vivid.

Hearing its call, a smiling Kenjaku emerged from the shadows, but he gave no answer to Jogo's greeting.

"How did it go? Was the plan successful?"

"Where's Mahito? Didn't he come back with you?"

Jogo confirmed that the arrivals were 'Suguru Geto' and Hanami, and its initial unease dissipated considerably.

However, it observed closely and realized Mahito was missing. Following the two of them was a masked man it had never seen before.

"This is a new comrade, Jogo."

Just as it was bewildered, 'Suguru Geto' suddenly spoke. Looking at his squinting smile, Jogo felt a chill run down its spine amidst its confusion.

"What do you mean? Where did Mahito go? Was he killed by Gojo Satoru?"

In its impression, only Gojo Satoru had the power to eliminate them, but shouldn't Hanami have been the one delaying him?

Jogo looked at Hanami, who was theoretically the most dangerous. Surprisingly, there wasn't a single scratch on its body, and… why was there no Cursed Energy?!

The fact, beyond its comprehension, made it instinctively step back half a pace, lowering its face to look at 'Suguru Geto'.

Even it could sense that something was wrong: Mahito's disappearance, the masked man of unknown identity, and the greatly changed Hanami…

"What exactly happened?" In less than a day, everything had become completely different. Jogo didn't even know if it should still trust 'Suguru Geto'.

Fortunately, the other party quickly gave a clear answer.

"Our cooperation has fallen apart. You're no longer useful… No, you still have one last use: to provide us with some Cursed Energy."

"But you no longer have value as a partner, nor as a Cursed Spirit."

"From now on, the Cursed Spirit Jogo will be out of print."

'Suguru Geto's' perpetually squinting eyes finally opened. In them, Jogo saw intense revulsion.

From beginning to end, Cursed Spirits were merely his pawns; they didn't even know his true identity.

Kenjaku hated humans, and he also hated Cursed Spirits. He hated this world, which was why he wanted to rely on the Culling Game to create a future he found interesting.

Schwarzer's appearance was like a miracle; she brought the power of another world, bringing entirely new possibilities.

Kenjaku genuinely decided to join the Celestial Organization. Schwarzer herself represented change, represented transformation.

Of course, Jogo was completely unaware of all this. All it knew was that 'Suguru Geto' had betrayed them!

"What on earth are you talking about?!"

If the other party had betrayed them, then Mahito was clearly in dire straits. Hanami's current state was definitely wrong.

But that didn't mean it would surrender. It was the strongest among the four Special Grade Cursed Spirits, and it would make 'Suguru Geto' understand that he had chosen the wrong opponent!

"No need to explain to you, you're not worthy of hearing it. It's time to act, Obito."

Facing its fury, 'Suguru Geto' merely waved his hand. Obito's abilities had been discussed among them after their meeting; after all, they were nominally teammates, and with Schwarzer's balancing influence, the likelihood of conflict between them was small.

'Is this guy named Obito? Is he a newly appeared Jujutsu Sorcerer?'

Jogo's attention immediately focused on the masked man, Obito. It had no information on him and had to be on high alert. Now, it was fighting alone…

"Hmph."

From beneath the mask, a single red eye opened, meeting Jogo's death stare directly. To dare lock eyes with an Uchiha like that, Obito chuckled softly, then—

'Kamui'

The twisted spatial vortex swallowed Jogo whole. Throughout, it offered no resistance, falling silent within the genjutsu of the Sharingan.

Hanami watched all of this expressionlessly, silently mourning Jogo's death for a moment.

"Are you feeling a little reluctant, facing your former comrade?"

Noticing the situation, Kenjaku spoke, asking. Of the entire team, the one he most wary of was Hanami; the power on its body was clearly an 'unknown' from another world.

"This is a necessary sacrifice. Entities like Cursed Spirits only cause damage to nature. Everything is for a blue and pure world."

Hanami had long since come to terms with this; this was its eternal farewell to Jogo.

Normally, Cursed Spirits are aggregates of human negative emotions. Even if eliminated by a Jujutsu Sorcerer, they would still be reborn hundreds or even thousands of years later.

However, if their plan succeeded, everything would be different. Humanity would truly master Cursed Energy, and Cursed Spirits would never appear again. This was Hanami's vision of a truly peaceful future.

Kenjaku didn't know if it had gone mad or been brainwashed, but Hanami in this state was a qualified asset.

Although he hadn't yet seen it in action, this resolve alone was enough; it at least proved that it certainly wouldn't betray them.

He turned his head to look at another team member, Uchiha Obito. The mask completely concealed his face and expression, revealing nothing.

That unique red eye, and the Cursed Technique called Kamui, were truly powerful. Was this also a power from another world?

In his millennia of existence, Kenjaku had never seen or even heard of such an entity. Thus, there was only one possibility: the other party's power was not from this world either.

With Obito's presence, he realized he could even put up a fight against Gojo Satoru. Kamui's spatial ability could completely bypass Gojo Satoru's Limitless.

Although there were only three of them, their current configuration could almost sweep across the entire Jujutsu world, perfectly aligning with the Celestial Organization's philosophy.

"Next, we should go clear out other Cursed Spirits. How about we split up?"

"I have no objections."

"Me neither."

To collect Cursed Energy as quickly as possible, they chose to act independently.

Jogo, the greatest threat, was eliminated by Kamui's mechanism. Among the remaining Cursed Spirits, none could even threaten them.

Jogo, originally the strongest in the squad, died without a ripple, leaving no trace.
