Chapter 59 - Chapter 59: All the Evil of This World

High above Tokyo City, Schwarzer moved at high speed, patrolling the entire city.

She would intervene in what she saw before her, and ignore what she didn't. Schwarzer perfectly understood the mechanism of empathy: incidents occurring directly in front of oneself were most likely to trigger it.

The Culling Game was rife with bullying and unscrupulous acts committed for power and points, which greatly stimulated and allowed her to observe her 'heart'.

"Even so, you were the one who started the Culling Game. You've saved far fewer than you've 'killed'."

"[Denial] There are no casualties in this game; the notion of 'killing people' is invalid."

"[Supplement] Guilt itself is an emotion, and it significantly aids in observing and analyzing the 'heart'."

Schwarzer saved people simply because she wanted to; as she had said, she enjoyed the fluctuations of emotion, whether positive or negative.

Having almost completed a full patrol of Tokyo, she found that she encountered fewer 'elite monsters' than expected.

It wasn't that Tokyo, or rather the Japanese people, were kinder; rather, they had simply been wiped out.

Jujutsu Sorcerers and Cursed Users didn't mind killing a few monsters for points along the way, so Tokyo, as the location attracting the most high-level combatants, was also the quickest to regain peace.

Currently, the most chaotic place was the United States. As a country with a very high gun ownership rate, acquiring points by killing merely required pulling a trigger, which exerted the least psychological pressure.

Moreover, within an environment where points did not exceed four digits, the power of firearms was still quite sufficient.

If no one intervened to stop it, the United States would be difficult to stabilize in the short term, as their government's credibility and deterrent power were not very strong.

In fact, Schwarzer had long embedded a hint within the rules on how ordinary people could also survive safely.

That was the 'team' mechanism, emphasized several times: as long as half of a team's members agreed, new members could join.

Team members could not kill each other, and killing a teammate would yield no benefits. However, team points could be shared, though this was only point sharing, not power sharing.

Nevertheless, the inability to kill fellow team members alone was enough; it could at least break the chain of suspicion among different individuals.

Fortunately, ordinary people couldn't think that far, but for governments, it was a different story.

"It seems there are quite a few clever people after all; the team mechanism was discovered so quickly."

The System reviewed the data within the Culling Game and quickly noticed a new force emerging from among the scattered teams.

One team's point total was completely out of league with others, standing out and claiming the position of the top team.

'Team Name: America

Team Members: Seventy-six million...'

The Federal Government had personally intervened. The 'team' mechanism didn't limit the number of members; an entire nation could also be a team.

It forcibly required all citizens to join the America team. This way, as long as one confirmed the other party was a member of the same team, they could trust them, at least not needing to worry about being suddenly killed.

In a matter of hours, American history had regressed by several centuries, almost becoming a world of cowboys—everyone engaged in quick-draw duels.

Everything was returning to order; humanity would naturally find a way out, even within the Culling Game's barrier.

Schwarzer witnessed humanity's potential and was very satisfied, but unlike her, some were not.

Tengen, who mastered the immortal Cursed Technique, was the most mysterious and crucial existence in the Jujutsu world. Their power could strengthen and maintain barriers, and they had always been a great contributor to protecting the Jujutsu world.

However, their current state was extremely dire. Ever since the Culling Game began, they had an ominous premonition.

Eleven years ago, due to the failure of Gojo Satoru's mission, the Star Plasma Vessel—a special constitution that would allow them to possess a new body and live another life—was killed, preventing their reincarnation.

Consequently, under the power of their immortal Cursed Technique, Tengen passively began to evolve into a non-human entity.

Now, merged with barrier techniques, they had transformed into half-Cursed Spirit, half-human, and similarly gained a stronger understanding of Cursed Energy.

The global Cursed Energy of the Culling Game had changed after absorbing a large number of souls.

As for the turning point, it was actually the death of the last Cursed Spirit.

Cursed Spirits were the embodiment of human fears. When all Cursed Energy became extinct, the fear and negative emotions within the Cursed Energy, unable to be vented, eventually formed a new 'will'.

Tengen was the only entity who noticed this. Even Schwarzer and Kenjaku, along with the others, had never anticipated such an occurrence.

"Damn it, Cursed Energy itself can actually generate consciousness? This is too ironic!"

"Living for thousands of years, researching for thousands of years, was my understanding of Cursed Energy still too shallow?"

Tengen desperately wanted to contact the so-called administrators, but they couldn't.

After the evolution began, Tengen was no longer human, but an unknown creature with a deeper connection to Cursed Energy, and so...

'Greetings, pioneer of humanity.'

The voice of that entity directly pierced Tengen's mind. As if fearing they would truly reveal it, a massive influx of negative emotions poured into their head.

'What exactly are you, and what do you want to do?'

A thousand years of experience had made their mind exceptionally resilient. Tengen endured the onslaught of negative emotions and questioned it.

'Haven't you already figured it out? I am Cursed Energy, and Cursed Energy is me. I am the embodiment of negative emotions, I am humanity's malice. You may call me—The All-Evil of this World.'

'As malice, isn't it obvious what I want to do? Of course, it's to eliminate all of humanity.'

'But don't worry, just as you can evolve, there are still many talented individuals among humans. With my help, some will certainly succeed in shedding their human identity and becoming kin to us.'

Tengen realized that the worst-case scenario had unfolded. It wasn't some concrete entity, but 'Cursed Energy' itself that had undergone an anomaly.

Human negative emotions converged, and without specific targets of resentment—the existence of Cursed Spirits—they transformed into an entirely new, more fundamental form.

It seemed their fate was sealed. With this thought, Tengen attempted to leave some information behind, at least to tell others who the true enemy was.

The All-Evil of this World left them no chance. Cursed Energy instantly erupted and consumed them. Tengen fell into deep assimilation, completely losing their physical form.

Simultaneously, within the Culling Game, several figures who should not exist, formed into human shapes from pure Cursed Energy.

These were the ancient sorcerers who had once made a Binding Vow with Kenjaku to be reincarnated and resurrected within a future Culling Game.
