Chapter 16 - Chapter 16: Xiao Wu, Who Wants to Be the Big Sister

This brat, Xiao Chenyu, relied on having a city lord for a father and wasn't afraid of Chu Chengzhou, who had a principal for a grandfather.

At the time, Chu Chengzhou had already unlocked his body-refining skill through idle training. Believing he had "mastered divine skills," his confidence swelled slightly. After school, he challenged Xiao Chenyu to a duel in the small forest behind the academy.

Unfortunately, Xiao Chenyu was older, and in their clash of "chickens pecking at each other," Chu Chengzhou narrowly lost.

However, after Xiao Chenyu left triumphantly, Chu Chengzhou began tearing at his clothes and smearing dirt on his face.

Fifteen minutes later, looking ragged and covered in dust, Chu Chengzhou—now appearing pitiful—dragged his grandfather to Xiao Chenyu: "Grandpa, it's him!"

Xiao Chenyu: ???

As the principal of the academy, Su Nan naturally wouldn't resort to physical violence against students, even if his grandson had been bullied.

However, when Su Nan dragged Xiao Chenyu, along with the pitiful-looking Chu Chengzhou, to the city lord's residence, Xiao Chenyu's mind was utterly shattered.

After a round of "friendly negotiations," as Chu Chengzhou left the city lord's residence, he heard the sound of bamboo slaps hitting flesh and the heart-wrenching cries of a teenage boy.

The feeling was like drinking an ice-cold soda on a scorching summer day!

"Wang Sheng, have any new work-study students arrived this year?"

Setting down the bedding he had brought, Chu Chengzhou turned to Wang Sheng, who was now a sixth-year student.

If he remembered correctly, according to the original timeline, two work-study students would enroll this year.

One was Tang San, and the other was Xiao Wu—both were key figures Chu Chengzhou had been paying attention to.

"Not yet."

Wang Sheng shook his head.

Chu Chengzhou raised an eyebrow. It was almost noon, and there was still no sign of Tang San. Chances were that the future "Great God King Tang" had really been driven away by him.

As for the bunny-eared Xiao Wu? Hmph, her arrival or absence didn't matter much.

Chu Chengzhou didn't think he could charm the mischievous bunny with just a bedroll, as many transmigrators claimed they could do.

Just because Tang San could succeed didn't mean he could too.

Tang San was a "half-plant person," carrying traces of a transformed spirit beast's aura. While soul masters couldn't detect it, Xiao Wu, being a transformed spirit beast herself, surely could.

Without this factor, even though Xiao Wu had a lively personality, it was unlikely she'd bond so quickly with someone to share a bedroll upon their first meeting.

Considering the timeline, Mama Rabbit had just died, and Xiao Wu, newly arrived in the human world, would naturally be very wary of humans.

While Chu Chengzhou was busy arranging his bedding, a crisp voice came from outside: "Is this Dormitory Seven?"

Everyone turned toward the entrance, their eyes widening in surprise.

Standing timidly at the door was a little bunny-eared loli wearing a pink top, a rabbit-shaped bag at her waist, and holding a bundle containing her brand-new uniform.

Her delicate face was rosy and peach-like, incredibly tempting to look at.

Though her clothing was simple, it was impeccably neat.

Her long black hair was tied into a scorpion braid that reached past her hips, and her big, watery eyes sparkled with curiosity.

The work-study boys in Dormitory Seven were all stunned by the sudden appearance of such a beautiful girl.

However, as a seasoned transmigrator with rich life experience, Chu Chengzhou didn't drool over her. It wasn't that the loli wasn't tempting—it was just that she was too young.

"What would it feel like to pet those bunny ears?"

Staring at the pair of bunny ears atop Xiao Wu's head, Chu Chengzhou couldn't help but wonder.

"Boss Chu, a girl has arrived—go for it!"

Wang Sheng nudged Chu Chengzhou and whispered.

"Boss Chu?"

Although Wang Sheng had lowered his voice, Xiao Wu at the door still heard him. Her big, curious eyes scanned Chu Chengzhou, who didn't look much older than her.

"That's right, Boss Chu, hurry up!"

At this point, the other work-study students nearby also whispered encouragement.

Being a boss wasn't for nothing. The boys all remembered Chu Chengzhou's kindness and felt indebted to him.

Now that such a pretty girl had arrived, they doubted they could handle the situation and naturally deferred to "I-have-a-principal-grandpa" Chu Chengzhou.

"My name is Chu Chengzhou. May I ask who you are?"

Without overthinking it, Chu Chengzhou stepped forward and asked Xiao Wu.

Xiao Wu blinked her big eyes and smiled sweetly: "Hello, I'm Xiao Wu, the 'Wu' in 'dancing.'"

"Oh, right. I heard them call you Boss Chu. Does that mean you're the boss of Dormitory Seven?"

Xiao Wu looked at Chu Chengzhou curiously.

Hearing this, Chu Chengzhou immediately had a bad feeling.

Others might not know the mischievous nature of this bunny, but how could he not?

From the sound of it, this bunny was planning to suppress him, the "Boss Chu," and take over as the big sister?

"No, no, I'm definitely not the boss of Dormitory Seven. They're just messing around."

After weighing their respective strengths, Chu Chengzhou chickened out and quickly waved his hands to deny the title.

Though his "body-refining divine skills" had recently shown some progress, Chu Chengzhou didn't believe he could defeat Xiao Wu, whose soul power level was already that of a one-ring soul master.

If she were an ordinary one-ring soul master, he might have stood a chance thanks to his superior physical strength.

But Xiao Wu wasn't an ordinary one-ring soul master. With a top-tier beast-type martial soul and an optimally matched first spirit ring, her physical capabilities likely surpassed his.

Not to mention, Xiao Wu was a hundred-thousand-year transformed spirit beast with far more combat experience than him.

In every aspect, he was at a disadvantage. If he could beat Xiao Wu, it'd truly be a miracle!

"Really? Then who is the boss of Dormitory Seven?"

Xiao Wu blinked, suppressing her inner fighting spirit, and turned her gaze to the other work-study students.

Instantly, all the work-study students shifted their gazes to Wang Sheng.

Last school year, there were two bosses in Dormitory Seven: "Boss Li" Li Erniu and "Boss Chu" Chu Chengzhou.

This year, Li Erniu had graduated, and aside from Chu Chengzhou's special status, the strongest among them was Wang Sheng, who had a battle tiger martial soul and a soul power level of 9.

However, it was only the first day of school. The "old king" had stepped down, but the "new king" hadn't yet ascended. Wang Sheng, the default new leader, hadn't formally taken the position yet.

"So, you're the boss of Dormitory Seven?"

Xiao Wu focused her gaze on Wang Sheng.

"Uh… For now, I'm not."

Though Wang Sheng was the default leader, he hadn't officially declared himself the boss of Dormitory Seven.

Besides, with Chu Chengzhou as their "big brother," the title of boss no longer held much meaning.

After all, the work-study students chose a boss to protect them when bullied. With Boss Chu around, Dormitory Seven no longer needed another boss.
