Chapter 161 - Thor's Trace

Just as Meng Ran was happily flying towards Greenwich, Little White reported the latest developments.

"The battle in Greenwich has ended. The target, Thor, has disappeared, and his companions are also on their way back to the United States."

Meng Ran was stunned after hearing Little White's report. What was going on? It was already over? And they just left?

"Little White, use their phones and computers to eavesdrop and find out the target's whereabouts," Meng Ran ordered, wanting to know where Thor had gone.

"Acknowledged!" Little White began working after receiving Meng Ran's command.

At the same time, on a plane flying from Greenwich, England, to New Mexico, Jane was chatting with her companions.

Daisy looked at Jane, who seemed distracted, and gently comforted her, "Don't worry, he'll come back. Although last time he was gone for two years."

"But I don't think he'll be gone as long this time."

Daisy spoke and subtly gestured towards Dr. Selvig, signaling him to offer some comfort as well.

Daisy felt her mouth was really too clumsy; those two sentences didn't sound like comfort at all, and Jane seemed even more dejected after hearing them.

Dr. Selvig, after receiving Daisy's signal, subtly gave her an OK gesture, indicating he had received it.

Then he cleared his throat and softly asked Jane, "Did he say anything when he left?"

Jane thought about it after hearing Dr. Selvig's question and then said softly, "He said he needed to talk to his father about some things, since he ran away after committing treason."

"I didn't ask for specific details, and he didn't say either."

Dr. Selvig responded with a soft "Oh~", and after a moment of thought, he added, "Thor saved the entire universe this time."

"I imagine Odin, the Allfather, won't punish him for the previous act of treason."

"After all, he was saving the entire universe at the time, and the final outcome proved it; he succeeded."

After hearing Dr. Selvig's words, Jane also fell into thought.

A moment later, she looked up at the window, then gently clenched her fist.

Then, as if comforting herself, she whispered, "That's right, he saved the entire universe."

"He will definitely come back, he promised me."

While Jane and her companions were chatting, Meng Ran also heard their conversation through their phones.

On the plane, Meng Ran had already told Little White to turn back. Since Thor wasn't in Greenwich, there was no need for him to go there.

After hearing Jane and her companions' conversation, he also understood.

So Thor went back to Asgard to discuss some matters with Odin.

"Oh, right, I remember now. He returned to Earth later."

Meng Ran rubbed his chin, thinking it over in his mind.

I remember Odin at this time seemed to be impersonated by Loki. The real Odin seemed to have been exiled to Earth by Loki.

Thinking of this, Meng Ran couldn't help but click his tongue in wonder, "Tsk tsk tsk, what a loving family."

Odin only had three children, and not one of them was easy to deal with.

The eldest daughter, Hela, Goddess of Death, was incredibly powerful, but her ideals clashed with Odin's, and he had suppressed her in the Underworld with all his might.

The eldest son, Thor, was kind-hearted, but a bit rash, with more muscle than brains.

As for the adopted second son, Loki, there was no need to say more. He was truly the epitome of filial piety, in a twisted way.

First, he colluded with the Frost Giants, letting them cause trouble at Thor's coronation. Then, he took advantage of Thor's lack of intelligence, causing him to be exiled to Earth.

Later, he caused the Bifrost to malfunction, forcing Thor to destroy it. Finally, he joined forces with the Chitauri, aiming to cause trouble on Earth.

You have to understand, without the Bifrost, Odin had no idea how much dark energy he'd have to expend just to send Thor to Earth.

This move undoubtedly made Odin, whose power was already waning and whose life was like a candle in the wind, even worse off.

In the most recent Dark Elf incident, it seemed Loki also played a part, resulting in the unfortunate death of Odin's wife, Frigga.

Regardless of whether Loki regretted it later, there was no doubt that he had also screwed over his beloved mother.

Meng Ran was on the plane back to New York, and he was thinking about Odin's family.

"Although every family has its own hardships, the hardships in Odin's family seem a bit too difficult to bear."

Meng Ran, after returning to New York, had Little White monitor Jane and her companions, as well as listen in on their calls to ensure he would know the moment Thor appeared.

Two days had passed since Thor and the Dark Elves' battle in Greenwich, and there was still no news of Thor.

This morning, Jane and Daisy were having breakfast as usual.

Jane's hair was a mess, and there were faint dark circles under her eyes.

Although she believed Thor would definitely come back for her, she couldn't help but feel a little uneasy.

This anxiety had prevented her from sleeping well these past few days, and all she could think about was Thor, unable to conduct her research properly.

Daisy pushed the prepared coffee in front of Jane and said softly, "Foster, have some coffee. You didn't sleep well again last night, did you?"

Looking at Jane's haggard face, Daisy couldn't help but frown, and she was also cursing inwardly.

"Why isn't that damn Thor back yet? If he doesn't hurry up, I'm starting to worry Jane will just drop dead one of these days."

Jane didn't know what Daisy was thinking. She just mechanically took the coffee Daisy handed her and said a soft "Thank you."

Then she continued to absentmindedly nibble on her sandwich and drink her coffee.

Dr. Selvig couldn't help but sigh when he saw Jane's haggard expression.

To be honest, he was also very worried about Jane's condition, but he had no other way to alleviate her symptoms.

After all, this was a matter of the heart, and not something he, a theoretical astrophysicist, could solve.

Dr. Selvig shook his head slightly, and kept muttering in his heart, "Thor, please come back soon!"

Just as they were all eating breakfast absentmindedly, a loud roar suddenly sounded from outside.

Jane, who had been listless, immediately widened her eyes when she heard the voice, and her eyes regained their sparkle.

She hurriedly put down the sandwich and coffee in her hands and turned to run outside.

Dr. Selvig, Daisy, and the intern beside them saw this and jogged out after her.

When they ran outside, they saw a strong light slowly dissipating, and standing in front of the light were Thor and Jane.

At this moment, the two of them were holding each other tightly, Jane's head resting on Thor's strong chest, a happy smile on her face.

"I knew you'd come back."
