Chapter 164 - Battle Thor

The atmosphere in the arena instantly turned tense.

Meng Ran held his Qieyun in his hand. Although there was a small dent in it, it was better than having no weapon at all.

Thor raised his Mjolnir, summoning a bolt of lightning from the sky.

With a crackling sound, the lightning roared towards Meng Ran.

Seeing the lightning strike, Meng Ran immediately gripped his Qieyun with both hands and slashed upwards to meet it.

The instant the blade made contact with the lightning, Meng Ran swung the knife to the side, deflecting the lightning towards the empty ground.

"BOOM!" Accompanied by a loud explosion, the lightning blasted a large crater into the ground nearby.

"Wow! That's a nice attack!" Meng Ran twirled Qieyun in his hand, then laughed at Thor, who was running towards him.

Thor heard Meng Ran's words and also laughed heartily, "Hahaha, there's even better!"

With that, he raised the Hammer of the Thunder God in his hand and smashed it down towards Meng Ran.

Seeing this, Meng Ran immediately put away Qieyun, clenched his right fist, and blasted it towards the falling Hammer of the Thunder God.

He knew he couldn't clash head-on with the Hammer of the Thunder God using Qieyun; otherwise, Qieyun would shatter on the spot.

He also wanted to test the power of the Hammer of the Thunder God, so he clenched his fist and traded blows with Thor.

"Bang!"

Meng Ran's iron fist collided with Thor's Hammer of the Thunder God, immediately emitting a loud sound like the clashing of metal.

With a tremendous crash, a shockwave billowed out from the point where the fist and the hammer collided.

For a moment, the dust on the ground swirled like a wave, spreading outwards. From a distance, it looked as if a sudden ripple had formed in the middle of the desert.

Thor was surprised to see Meng Ran take his full-power blow with his fist. He looked at his hammer, then at Meng Ran.

To be honest, in his 5,000 years of life, he had never seen anyone take his hammer head-on with a fist.

The last one who tried was a stone giant, but he was blasted to smithereens by the lightning before he even touched the hammer.

"Don't be so surprised, this is just the opening act," Meng Ran said with a laugh, seeing the surprise on Thor's face.

"Interesting! You've got me excited!" The Thunder God grinned, baring his teeth.

After saying this, Thor and Meng Ran began a close-quarters battle with the hammer.

The sounds of "bang, bang, bang" echoed continuously, the impacts of Thor and Meng Ran's clash.

Thor had developed his own combat techniques, perfectly synchronized with his hammer.

Meng Ran, with his thick, sharp claws, fought without a weapon. Relying solely on his incredible fighting skills, he went toe-to-toe with Thor.

Thor, having fought countless battles for Asgard for a thousand years, had a combat awareness and skill that was undoubtedly top-tier.

Meng Ran, through system purchases and exchanges over the past two years, had maxed out all of his original skills, including his fighting ability.

Watching the demon, unarmed, go blow-for-blow with him, Thor's surprise grew deeper.

After a few more moments of intense fighting, Thor lifted his leg and kicked at Meng Ran, who raised his arms to block the blow.

Using the force of the block, Thor retreated, spinning his hammer and sending it soaring into the sky.

He held the hammer aloft, his body wreathed in blue arcs of electricity, his eyes blazing with dazzling light.

At the same time, the entire sky turned a deep, inky black, with arcs of electricity flickering within the clouds.

Accompanied by a crackling sound, the lightning resembled a writhing dragon as it churned within the clouds.

"Now, let me show you the power of the Thunder God!" Thor roared in the sky.

With that, he let out a furious roar, then swung the Hammer of the Thunder God, manipulating the lightning in the sky to strike down at Meng Ran on the ground.

This attack wasn't like the initial skirmish, just a warm-up.

This bolt of lightning was massive, its size alone making it much thicker than the previous one.

Furthermore, countless arcs of electricity, similar to the ones at the beginning, accompanied this thick bolt of lightning.

Boom! A colossal roar erupted as the lightning struck the ground.

Compared to the thick bolt of lightning, Meng Ran seemed like a frail and pitiable little weakling.

Dazzling electricity surged on the ground, completely engulfing his figure.

At this moment, Thor descended from the sky as well. He gazed at the electrical discharge with a hint of worry, thinking to himself, "Damn it, I got a little carried away just now."

"I rarely unleash this lightning strike; it cost me nearly half my stamina."

"I didn't cook the evil spirit, did I?"

Thinking about his newly-made friend, now potentially dead or alive after being struck by his lightning, Thor scratched his head in annoyance.

"Are you worried about me getting fried?"

"That's heartwarming, but I feel like I'm being underestimated."

Hearing that familiar raspy voice, Thor immediately looked up.

As the voice echoed, the electricity on the ground gradually dissipated.

The familiar black figure of Qieyun was revealed, though he looked quite a bit larger than before.

If Qieyun had been the size of a normal person before, now he was like a small giant, over two meters tall.

And it wasn't just his height that had changed; his entire physique had as well.

Now, Qieyun looked like he'd spent ten years in the gym before going out, looking both strong and fierce.

Black battle armor encased his robust muscles, forming a perfect, massive physique. Accompanying the black armor were subtle, white lines that flickered in and out of view.

That still-ferocious visage and the gaping maw became even more terrifying, with a crimson tongue dripping viscous saliva. Slit-like eyes stared fixedly at Thor.

In the demon's eyes, there was now a fiery fighting spirit in addition to the coldness.

Thor looked at the demon, which had transformed and now exuded an even more evil and icy aura. His worry dissipated.

But after his worry vanished, a deeper surprise and curiosity arose in his heart.

Thor had lived for 5,000 years. In his long life, it was all about fighting, so his combat experience was extremely rich, and his combat power was also very strong.

Although he wasn't as famous as Odin, the name of Thor, the God of Thunder, was also widely known throughout the Nine Realms.

The previous strike was something he usually wouldn't need to use, because it would drain nearly half of his stamina.

Generally, he didn't need such a powerful move to defeat his enemies.

But today, to show respect, he hadn't held back and had gone straight for his ultimate move. He'd even worried about hurting his friend.

But now, the evil ghost stood before him, completely unharmed. This made him doubt his own strength.
