Chapter 115 - The Eye of Seraph

The corridors finally widened, the metallic walls giving way to a massive chamber bathed in an eerie, pulsating glow. At its center, a massive energy core throbbed, sending waves of heat and electricity rippling across the floor. The labyrinth's hum escalated, as if the facility itself sensed their approach.

Ash's hand tightened around Ayin's. "This is it," she whispered, eyes scanning the chamber. "The heart of Seraph."

Haru's gaze swept the room, weapon at the ready. "We move carefully. One wrong step, and the core's defenses will tear through us like paper."

Ayin's eyes widened as she stepped forward cautiously. "I… I remember… pieces now. Faces… machines… wires… voices calling my name. Ash…" Her voice trembled, but determination glimmered through it.

Ash pressed a hand to her sister's back, steadying her. "You're not alone, Ayin. We face this together. Every step."

Haru's voice was calm, firm. "She's right. You're stronger than you think. And we've got your back. No hesitation, no second-guessing."

The chamber pulsed again, the energy core emitting a low, vibrating hum. Sparks arced across the floor, forcing the trio to move with care.

"I can feel it… it's alive," Ayin whispered, her hand hovering over the air, as if sensing something invisible. "Ash… it's like it's watching me."

Ash gripped her hand. "Then we don't give it the chance. Step by step. Focus. Trust me."

Haru's eyes narrowed as he scanned the core. "The nodes around it are unstable. If we disrupt them strategically, we can shut it down—or at least slow it long enough to escape."

Ash's lips pressed into a thin line. "Then we do it. Together."

A sudden surge of energy coursed through the chamber, throwing them off balance. Sparks erupted from the core, and Ayin stumbled, clutching Ash for support.

"I… I can't…" Ayin whispered, voice breaking.

"You can," Ash said firmly, pressing her forehead against Ayin's. "You've survived worse than this. Trust your strength. Trust us. One step at a time."

Haru moved forward, dismantling a nearby node with swift, precise strikes. "Keep her close," he said to Ash. "Don't let her wander near the core until it's stabilized."

Ayin's breath came in ragged bursts. "I… I remember… the voices… the experiments…" Her eyes filled with tears, but she squared her shoulders. "I can help. I want to help."

Ash glanced at Haru, then back at Ayin. "Alright. But stay with us. Every step."

Haru nodded, giving a brief, approving smile. "Good. Together, then."

The three moved carefully around the core, dismantling energy nodes, avoiding the arcs of electricity. The labyrinth groaned and pulsed in response, as if alive and resisting them at every step.

"Almost there," Ash whispered, guiding Ayin along a narrow path. "One more node to shut down."

A surge of sparks flared, and the energy core's hum escalated to a deafening pitch. Ayin's knees buckled, but Ash caught her just in time.

"You're doing it!" Ash encouraged, pressing a hand to her sister's back. "Just one more. You've got this!"

Haru struck the final node, sparks cascading in a controlled explosion. The energy core's hum softened, the room settling into an uneasy calm.

Ayin sank to her knees, panting. "I… I did it… we did it…"

Ash knelt beside her, brushing her hair back. "You did. You were amazing. Both of you. Together, we did it."

Haru's hand rested on Ash's shoulder, grounding her amidst the adrenaline. "We've taken the first step. The core is slowed, but Seraph isn't finished. We need to move fast."

Ayin looked around the chamber, then at Ash and Haru. "I… I remember more now. The experiments, the lab… the people… Ash, we have to stop it."

Ash's eyes hardened, resolve burning. "Then we finish this. No more running. No more hiding. Together."

Haru nodded. "Step by step. Every move counts. And this time… we decide the rules."

The trio stood in the pulsating glow of the energy core, bonded stronger than ever. The labyrinth was still alive, still dangerous, but for the first time, they weren't just survivors—they were fighters, united, ready to confront whatever horrors Seraph had left in its path.

Ash took a deep breath, holding both Ayin and Haru close. "Let's finish this. For her. For us."

Ayin's hand rested on Ash's, determination in her eyes. "For all of us."

Haru's grip tightened on Ash's shoulder. "Then together. Always."

The chamber thrummed around them, a living reminder of the challenge ahead. But for the first time, the three of them knew they could face it. Together, nothing could stop them.
