"A dollar for a flower, and they're especially beautiful today."
The children selling flowers still had youthful voices. It was a unique feature of the restaurant, and those who dined here were all wealthy individuals for whom a dollar was insignificant.
"Over here."
Tao Wen raised his hand, calling out to a young boy selling flowers not far away.
"Sir, are you calling me?"
"Sir, would you like to buy a flower?"
The two young boys turned around simultaneously, asking.
"I'm sorry, but I prefer his."
Tao Wen apologized to a small boy, gesturing towards another small boy.
"Thank you, sir."
The small boy hurried over, appearing quite excited. The other small boy didn't seem disappointed and continued walking towards others.
"It's not because of you, but because of your flowers. They're more vibrant."
Tao Wen said with a smile. Indeed, the flowers were exceptionally vibrant, with many water droplets scattered across them. Under the soft light, they shimmered and were very charming.
And there were a great many of them, so much so that the small boy seemed to be struggling to hold them.
"It's their honor to be liked by you."
The little boy smiled, "Sir, how many do you need?"
"Peter Parker?"
Tao Wen's gaze fell on the sales permit on the little boy. A different light suddenly flashed in his eyes. He had previously only thought the boy looked similar to Spider-Man as a child. Now, he hadn't expected it to be true; this was actually Spider-Man as a child.
He couldn't help but secretly admire the boy, thinking that working from a young age was indeed a good way to train a person, making children cherish money more.
"Yes, sir. Here's my business card. You can call me anytime if you need more next time."
Peter took a business card from his pocket.
Fragments +1
"Huh, he hasn't become Spider-Man yet, so how can I get fragments?!"
"This is really an unexpected surprise!"
Tao Wen's eyes flashed with surprise as he accepted the business card, and a surge of joy welled up inside him. This was truly unexpected.
He had initially planned to build a good relationship and then collect shards after Peter became Spider-Man, so this was quite a surprise.
"Peter, I'll take all your flowers."
Tao Wen was in a good mood. With a wave of his hand, he pulled out a hundred-dollar bill and handed it to Peter.
"Oh, thank you very much, sir. I have a total of 99 red roses here. Here's your change."
Peter counted the money carefully and then prepared to give Tao Wen his change.
"Keep it. Consider the rest a tip."
Tao Wen reached out and stopped Peter from handing over the money, acting very generously.
Fragment +1
As the hand touched the hand, another fragment appeared. This caused a different kind of brilliance to ripple in Tao Wen's eyes.
"Thank you so much, sir. I'll go package it for you right away."
Peter, carrying the heavy flower pot, left, looking exceptionally cheerful.
"Give me another Happy Soda."
Hill finished ordering at this moment, her gaze turning to the departing Peter: "Tao, I didn't know you were so kindhearted. The flower children here are basically abandoned children, fostered by their relatives. To supplement their family incomes and give these children the ability to support themselves, they sell flowers here every night."
"I see,"
Tao Wen realized, remembering that in the original storyline, Peter Parker's aunt and uncle weren't poor. It turned out it was to train him. As for why Parker was so happy, the money from selling flowers would probably be his spending money, allowing him to buy what he wanted.
This was indeed a very good way.
"The restaurant owner is also from the same background, so they're quite supportive."
Hill said, "Tao, I ordered some of this place's signature dishes, I hope you like them, and also our favorite Happy Soda."
"I like everything you order."
Tao Wen looked directly at Hill, and said.
"Hehe, you're so funny."
Hill was efficient in her work, but seemed very inexperienced when it came to relationships between men and women. After meeting Tao Wen's gaze, she quickly looked away.
"Hello, would you like a violin performance?"
At this moment, a blonde, blue-eyed beauty walked over and asked.
"Play a song."
Hill had wanted to refuse, but Tao Wen cut her off directly and handed over a hundred-dollar bill.
The beautiful woman's eyes lit up with joy; such a generous person was rare tonight. She immediately started playing the violin, and beautiful music filled the air.
"You're so romantic."
Hill's face was flushed as she looked at Tao Wen.
"Thank you for the compliment."
Tao Wen said without changing his expression.
The restaurant served food quickly, and soon various sweet dishes were brought out and placed on the long table, creating a unique aesthetic.
There was steak, pasta, soufflé for dessert, and some other delicious dishes. The aroma was exceptionally sweet, making Tao Wen's mouth water, eager to eat heartily.
"Sir, your flowers."
Just as Hill was about to start eating, Peter Parker brought over 99 roses. The sheer number of roses immediately became the center of attention.
"Your skills are good."
Tao Wen patted Peter Parker on the shoulder in appreciation, and immediately, Fragment +1 appeared.
"Thank you for your praise."
Peter Parker staggered slightly and quickly left.
As the fragment appeared, it merged into the data, becoming 7/8.
Looking at the dwindling data, Tao Wen really wanted to catch up to Parker and ask him to punch him.
"Tao, you're such a romantic!"
Just as Tao Wen was feeling disappointed, he saw Hill, whose eyes were practically sparkling. Her gentle gaze, like water, instantly made Tao Wen forget about Peter Parker.
"Not bad, not bad."
Tao Wen tenderly raised his knife and fork, pouring Happy Soda for Hill: "Let's have dinner together."
"Okay."
Hill replied enthusiastically.
Soon, Tao Wen fell in love with the restaurant's food. Just as Hill had said, the dishes here were incredibly delicious, far surpassing anything he had eaten before. In just half an hour, the two of them had devoured everything.
After an hour of casual conversation, they finally got down to business.
On Davidson's handsome motorcycle, the back seat was filled with vibrant flowers, looking exceptionally beautiful. It added a touch of romance to his already dashing appearance. As Hill left, she held Tao Wen tightly. Tao Wen rode slowly, and they both felt the flush of love.
Back home, after a smiling farewell, they carried this sweet feeling back to their respective beds. Tao Wen soon drifted off into a peaceful sleep.
The next day, Hill left the dorm early, but not before leaving behind a delicious breakfast.
"This is the life," Tao Wen couldn't help but exclaim as he ate breakfast. After finishing, he went to the office. He had just finished cleaning when an agent approached him, "Tao, Director Fury wants to see you."
"Alright, I'll be right there."
Tao Wen put down the rag, washed his hands, ate a dried fruit, and headed towards Fury's office.
As he walked, a hint of confusion crept into his mind. Why was Fury looking for him?
Could it be news about Banner?
