An excited smile curled across my face as my eyes darted toward the gathered army before me.
"This is exactly what I needed for my future plans," I said.
Turning to Vyaghra, I tapped his shoulder and continued, "Thank you, Vyaghra. I am truly grateful for your efforts."
Vyaghra preferred solitude and disliked company, especially that of humans. Yet he had stepped out of his comfort zone and put immense effort into training this army. That alone spoke volumes of how seriously he had taken my words when I said I wanted to be friends with him.
"You do not need to thank me, Raj," Vyaghra replied, his usual cold tone carrying a subtle warmth beneath it. "This is nothing compared to what you have done for us. Besides…"
He averted his gaze and murmured softly, "I heard friends do not apologize or thank each other."
For a moment, Jambavan, Ume, and I were stunned by how much this stiff god had changed.
