Chapter 139 - Chapter 139: Love and Hatred

Initially, Tiga managed to match Camearra blow for blow among the asteroid belt, but as their cosmic duel progressed, the tide began turning against him.

"Damn it, Daigo's losing!" Gustave shot up from his reclining chair, ready to rush upstairs and beg the Moral Lord for help. He had to admire the old sage's focus—despite the ship rocking from shockwaves, the ancient master continued his gaming session without missing a beat. Recently, he'd become obsessed with "Battlefield 5," much to everyone's amusement.

Unfortunately, Gustave never got the chance to ask for intervention.

"It's over," Chu Zihang announced grimly. "Tiga lost."

Through the magical sunglasses, Gustave watched in horror as Tiga's defeated form transformed into a blazing fireball, plummeting toward Earth like a fallen star.

"We have to save Daigo!" Gustave prepared to rocket into space himself. If Tiga could maintain his form long enough to reach the atmosphere safely, there might be hope. But if the transformation failed in the void of space...

Just as Gustave tensed to launch himself skyward, Tiga's light form finally disintegrated in the upper atmosphere. Daigo's human body tumbled helplessly through the space void, completely vulnerable to the lethal radiation and absolute cold.

At that critical moment, Camearra materialized beside the falling man. Despite having just beaten him within an inch of his life, she caught Daigo with infinite gentleness, cradling him protectively as she descended toward the Bamboo Staff.

"Wait, why is Camearra saving Daigo after she just finished pummeling Tiga into space dust?" Chu Zihang scratched his head in confusion. Having never seen "The Final Odyssey," he couldn't comprehend the twisted complexity of Camearra's feelings.

"If you want to understand, go back to your world and watch the Tiga movies," Gustave sighed. "The answer's all there."

Since the Bamboo Staff's internet connected to Shin-chan's world, it lacked any information about Ultraman Tiga. Chu Zihang would need to return to his own dimension for research.

Camearra's emotions embodied the old saying perfectly: the deeper the love, the deeper the hatred. During battle, she'd shown no mercy whatsoever—every strike had been intended to kill. Even the experienced Daigo from the movies couldn't defeat her, let alone this version who'd just finished dealing with the Halloween Witch incident.

Yet after achieving victory, Camearra couldn't bring herself to actually end Daigo's life. The moment Tiga disintegrated, she'd rushed to his rescue with desperate tenderness.

Watching through his enhanced sunglasses, Gustave could clearly see how carefully Camearra handled the unconscious man, as if he were made of the most delicate crystal.

When Camearra brought Daigo back to the Bamboo Staff, she'd already resumed her human form. She settled cross-legged on the deck, holding the unconscious hero in her arms like a precious treasure.

"Do you remember? I used to hold you just like this," she whispered, her voice carrying the weight of eons. "Every time you returned from battle, you'd lie in my arms and tell me about your adventures. Every time, I would listen quietly, just like I'm doing now."

Her fingers traced Daigo's peaceful features with infinite gentleness. "So much time has passed, yet your face hasn't changed at all. Still exactly the same as before."

Gustave's eyes widened at this revelation. The original Tiga had possessed the same human appearance as Daigo? That was a shocking piece of lore.

"We were so beautiful together," Camearra continued, her voice thick with nostalgic pain. "I always believed we'd continue like that forever."

Suddenly, her expression twisted with rage, love transforming into murderous hatred. "You should never—NEVER—have let that cursed woman Yuzare seduce you! You shouldn't have betrayed us!"

The temperature around them seemed to drop as killing intent radiated from Camearra's form. Gustave, Chu Zihang, and even Tom stood frozen, barely daring to breathe. They'd all witnessed this woman's terrifying power firsthand.

The entire Bamboo Staff—hell, the entire One Piece world—couldn't match Camearra's strength. Everyone except the gaming-addicted Moral Lord upstairs, that is. Even Tom, usually fearless in the face of danger, had hidden behind Gustave with only half his head visible, trembling like a leaf.

It was just Tom's nature. Despite his cartoon invincibility, he became pathologically timid around genuinely evil beings. Even horror stories on the radio could send him into hiding. He'd been extremely reluctant to visit Lin Jiu's world with Po and Yang Chan, knowing it contained real ghosts and supernatural threats.

"After betraying us, you stole our power and sealed me, Darramb, and Hudra in that accursed darkness," Camearra's voice rose to nearly a roar, venting thirty million years of accumulated anguish. "Do you have any idea what those years were like? Do you understand how hard it was to endure that endless void? If I hadn't clung to the hope of seeing you again, I would have ended my own existence long ago!"

Daigo remained unconscious throughout her emotional outburst, unable to hear the pain pouring from her heart.

"But fortunately," she continued, her voice softening again, "not only do I see you again, but you're back in my arms where you belong."

She leaned down and pressed a gentle kiss to Daigo's forehead. "This time, I won't let you leave me. Ever."

Mon Dieu, Gustave thought, swallowing nervously. This woman is completely unhinged. The display reinforced his growing determination to avoid romantic entanglements entirely. If he ever encountered someone as obsessively devoted as Camearra, his life would be over—and given his interdimensional lifestyle, that was a very real possibility.

After finishing her one-sided conversation, Camearra finally looked up at her unwilling audience.

"Hello there," Gustave managed, forcing what he hoped was a non-threatening smile.

"Where is this place?" Camearra asked coldly, finally remembering to assess her surroundings.

"This is the Bamboo Staff. You came through something called the Gate of All Worlds..." Gustave carefully explained their dimensional restaurant and its unique properties. When he mentioned the time differential between connected worlds, Camearra's eyes lit up with genuine interest.

"Before we continue, I feel I should give you a small piece of advice," Gustave added diplomatically.

"What advice?" Perhaps obtaining Daigo's physical presence, combined with the Gate's time-manipulation possibilities, had improved Camearra's mood. Her tone remained cool but lacked its earlier murderous edge.

"Forced fruit isn't sweet," Gustave said gently. "Daigo might not accept your feelings. After all, he isn't the same Tiga who once loved you."

Camearra's eyes flashed dangerously, her gaze boring into Gustave like twin lasers.

"Also," Gustave continued quickly, "you might want to avoid causing trouble here. My master may not have introduced himself yet, but he's currently gaming on the fourth floor. Trust me when I say you're no match for him."

Gustave decided to invoke the Moral Lord's authority—partly to establish boundaries, but mostly to avoid looking completely intimidated in front of his crew.

Intrigued despite herself, Camearra extended her senses throughout the ship. When her awareness reached a particular room on the fourth floor, she encountered a presence that made her breath catch.

At first glance, the aura seemed utterly ordinary. But deeper examination revealed something vast and ancient—a momentum that matched the very heavens and earth themselves. Camearra realized Gustave hadn't been bluffing.

"As long as no one interferes with me," she said finally, "I won't cause any trouble for them."

It was, Gustave supposed, the best peace treaty they were likely to get.
