Kaido's fury was something anyone could have predicted.
After all—
For someone as proud and arrogant as Kaido, losing to Shiki in the past could be explained away by the age gap.
Losing to Arthur had already pushed his pride to its limit.
But now… being stopped by an unknown knight under Arthur's command?
Unacceptable.
"ROOOOAR!!!"
Kaido threw back his head and howled, instantly shifting into his Human-Beast hybrid form of the Azure Dragon, lunging straight for Gawain.
"Hmph."
Gawain's lips curled upward—not the slightest trace of fear.
"Drink!"
"Diamond–Drill!"
A scorching wave of heat collided head-on with a jet-black Armament-hardened mace strike. Sparks erupted as the two figures tore through the smoke and clashed again, killing intent blazing in their eyes—each clearly aiming to finish the other.
Crackling blasts echoed through the sky.
Gawain versus Kaido—round two—began.
—
Meanwhile…
Arthur and Shiki had also escalated their fight.
The longer it went on, the more unnerved Shiki became.
No… something's wrong. This brat Arthur shouldn't be this strong. Impossible… absolutely impossible!
Shiki knew the truth: give Arthur time—say until his thirties—and surpassing legends would be expected.
But Arthur hadn't used time.
At only eighteen, he possessed power that should've taken decades to reach.
It was monstrous—unnatural.
The more Shiki fought, the more unsettled he became.
"Lion Menace: Sea Drop!"
"Wind King Hammer!"
Towering waves surged upward, only to be ripped apart by Arthur's cyclone.
He countered upward, unleashing a violent blast of wind.
"Wind King Spear!"
Shiki sliced through the gusts with ease, hovering in the sky, eyeing Arthur suspiciously.
Everything felt off.
"Jihahahaha!"
But Shiki simply laughed boldly.
"Arthur brat! Whatever power you're using—surely the price must be terrifying!
Borrowing strength that doesn't belong to you always demands a heavy toll!"
"Hah…"
Arthur smiled mysteriously.
"Maybe I paid a terrible price. Maybe I didn't pay anything at all."
"Shiki… is that really something you need to worry about?"
"Keep fighting and you'll see the result soon enough."
The truth was—
Arthur didn't fear a prolonged battle at all.
With the Blessing of Britannia AND the Red Dragon bloodline, he could outlast Shiki with ease.
And unlike before, Shiki's ultimate suicidal technique with the Float-Float Fruit had already been destroyed—he no longer had a method to force mutual death.
Meaning—
Shiki had no path to victory.
"Hmm…"
Shiki narrowed his eyes, clearly weighing his options.
He knew exactly how this would end if he dragged it out.
But withdrawing rashly would be… humiliating.
Arthur presses the attack
"Wind King's Hammer!"
Seeing Shiki hesitate, Arthur attacked again.
Then again.
"Wind King's Hammer!"
"Wind King's Spear!"
"Wind King's Sword!"
"Wind King's Scythe!"
He dismissed Excalibur, turning himself into a walking magical artillery unit, unleashing endless wind-based strikes. Magic power poured out as if he had unlimited reserves.
Of course—Excalibur's true beam was too costly.
But the Wind King techniques? Those he could spam freely.
Hurricanes erupted outward, swallowing the battlefield.
Clang—clang—clang!
Shiki could block them easily…
But the intent behind Arthur's barrage was crystal clear.
Shiki began to seriously consider retreating.
Continuing the fight would only drain his stamina for no gain. The terrain of the Britannia Sea meant nothing to him—he could remake any land he wanted with the Float-Float Fruit.
He'd come here mainly to probe Arthur's strength.
If Arthur had been weak, Shiki would've flattened Britannia instantly.
But Arthur was strong—too strong.
So Shiki, ever the calculating veteran, began to withdraw.
Arthur saw it clearly.
Perfect.
For Britannia, repelling Shiki head-on meant they had officially secured their foothold in the New World. No one would dare underestimate Arthur anymore—not after defeating Shiki and Kaido.
---
Meanwhile… Kaido was losing it
BOOM!
BOOM!
Kaido's kanabo swung like a raging storm, smashing into Gawain again and again, every blow murderous.
"Heh…"
Gawain endured the strikes, countering each time with his sun-fueled holy sword, the searing heat forcing Kaido to keep his distance.
Gawain teased him:
"Is that all you've got? Lancelot hits much harder than you."
"Don't tell me the mighty Kaido is only this strong?"
"RAAAAAH!!!"
The taunt ignited Kaido's rage to an entirely new level.
He was once a member of the Rocks Pirates—not some random nobody.
How could a knight under Arthur suppress him?!
Insulting.
Infuriating.
Unforgivable.
Yet, despite his fury, he couldn't deny the reality right in front of him.
Even more infuriating.
From a distance, Galahad merely watched, a small smile on his lips.
"Sir Gawain has changed… he never used to fight like this."
But change was inevitable.
Kaido retaliates—by attacking Britannia
"Thunder Bagua!"
CLANG!
Gawain blocked again, unshaken.
But then Kaido suddenly unleashed a massive elemental breath toward Britannia Island.
"Wohohoho~"
"You care so much about this island?"
"Then I'll DESTROY it!"
Gawain tried to chase—but Kaido held him back.
Kaido forgot one thing:
Galahad existed.
"…."
The world fell silent for half a second.
Galahad leapt skyward, manifesting his massive holy shield.
BOOOOM!!!
The elemental blast hit the shield—
And did absolutely nothing.
Calmly, Galahad said,
"Sir Gawain, you must be more careful.
If Britannia is damaged, His Majesty will punish you."
"My apologies! My apologies!"
Gawain laughed awkwardly before refocusing, unleashing an even greater barrage of solar heat, the air around him boiling.
Gawain vs. Kaido intensified once more.
But—
Kaido's Mythical Zoan regeneration gave him an overwhelming advantage in prolonged combat.
Gawain's mana reserves were not infinite.
Slowly, gradually—Kaido gained the upper hand.
But only slightly.
Even low on power, Gawain's swordsmanship—honed through countless battles with monsters—ensured Kaido could never dominate him outright.
...
After observing long enough, Galahad finally spoke.
"Sir Gawain."
"It's time to end this."
"I know!"
The moment Galahad joined, the tide flipped instantly.
Against two Round Table Knights, Kaido was completely suppressed.
Gawain's Sword of Revolving Victory.
Galahad's red-hilted holy blade—a former cursed sword purified by the Holy Grail.
CLANG!
CLANG!
CLANG!
Kaido was beaten back repeatedly, unable to withstand their coordinated assault.
This was war.
Chivalry was irrelevant.
Victory was the only rule.
Even King Arthur once used underhanded methods to survive countless battles.
Knights who wished to live adapted—or died.
"ROOOOAR!!!"
Unable to endure anymore, Kaido finally transformed into his full Azure Dragon form—and fled without even shouting a final threat.
Defeated.
Unlike his future self, Kaido wasn't yet immortal through awakening.
If he stayed, he risked being captured—and killed.
So he ran.
And with Kaido's retreat, the battle came to an end.
