Chapter 17 - Regressor from Upper Realm

Just as he was about to storm out and teach a lesson to that arrogant Bloodfang spy, a blue window popped up in front of him.

[Ding! A bearer of heavenly providence detected. Click to check status.]

Wang Chen's expression immediately froze and he hurriedly clicked to see the stats.

[Name: Li Mei] [Lifespan: 16/999] [Race: Mortal] [Cultivation: Peak of Qi Refining realm] [Talent: Alchemy Symphony, Regressor of the Upper Realm] [Abilities: Three-Eyed Proud Pupil, All-Seeing Eyes, Bearer of Time Providence] [Techniques: World Tree Crossing the Firmament] [Potential: Extremely high. (If cultivated properly, the individual has potential to become the Alchemical Saint of the generation)]

Wang Chen had merely finished reading through the status window—his eyes shone like lanterns.

Immediately he knew who was going to be his second disciple. Wang Chen was very keen on accepting disciples. After all, this was the only way to raise his lifespan.

However, he acted as if he didn't notice the figure hiding behind the lamp post at all, but simply walked back into the dojo.

Immediately after returning, Wang Chen started to think about all the ways he could approach Li Mei, but no matter what, he couldn't think of anything worth doing.

Lin Huang could tell Master had something on his mind. As such, not to disturb him, he also got up and took his leave, heading toward the library. He still had to finish his daily studies.

...

Li Mei's eyes were filled with confusion. The scene of Zi Han and Wang Chen warmly talking played again and again in her head.

She, of course, was very familiar with the Demon Queen, but she was seeing Wang Chen for the first time.

Li Mei was already familiar with all the Grand Ascension realm experts, but the scene just now caused her to rethink.

For Demon Queen Zi Han to talk to him as if he was her equal, that mysterious man had to be at least at the Grand Ascension realm. Then suddenly a thought occurred to her: could it be that he is from the upper realm?

Although the possibility was very slim, it was a possibility nonetheless.

Then suddenly she shook her head, feeling the Ten Thousand Soul Flag in her grasp. "Who he is doesn't matter. What is clear is I have lost the chance to accept the Demon Queen as my master..."

Li Mei had also seen the youthful Xi Yi following behind Zi Han. Clearly, the Demon Queen had already accepted a disciple and there was no way she would accept another. From her memories of the future, she was quite sure the Demon Queen accepted only a single disciple until her death in the Bloody War.

Thinking of the Bloody War, Li Mei's expression changed. She just didn't want to remember anything related to the Blood War.

Li Mei shook her head and once again focused on the matter at hand.

"If things continue like this, the dogs of Bloodfang and that demon would definitely track me down. To get out of this predicament, there is only one way..."

Other than that, there were other concerns on her mind. One year later, one of the biggest demons would attack the surrounding region. If she wanted to survive that disaster, Li Mei had to prepare in advance.

However, although she just wanted to rush inside the dojo and quickly accept Wang Chen as her master, she didn't. Li Mei knew when it came to such matters, one had to be a little patient.

Strange—the intention of both Li Mei and Wang Chen was the same, yet they were in no hurry.

Time continued to pass. Wang Chen followed his usual routine of lazing around the rocking chair while keeping an eye out for the Bloodfang rats.

Soon it had been one month since his meeting with Zi Han. In this past one month, he had not forgotten about that girl, Li Mei.

He had been secretly making inquiries about her in the nearby tavern, and from the information he had gotten, the girl for some reason was still here and hadn't disappeared.

During this past one month, he had already formed a plan in his head as to how he was going to accept her.

The plan was simple: since he was already acting as a hidden expert, he might as well go all out and use the time-tested technique of having fate bring them together.

The more Wang Chen thought about it, the more he found the idea to be feasible.

Unaware of his master's thought to rope in another disciple, Lin Huang continued his daily routine as usual. Every day he would do a hundred push-ups, a hundred sit-ups, and a ten-kilometer run. He also didn't forget to visit the library every day.

The Divine Workout had finally started to show its true effect. In just one month, the blockage in his meridians had been completely cleared. He now once again could circulate qi as he wished.

Lin Huang almost jumped in joy and let out a triumphant laugh. Who could have thought the exercise that he thought was mundane would have such profound effects!

Just as he was thinking, he saw the figure of Wang Chen lazing around on the chair. "No, how could I be so stupid? My recovery had definitely something to do with Teacher. He must have secretly helped me."

Thinking up to this point, Lin Huang didn't know what to think, but the gratitude in his heart only increased.

Just in this fashion, another day passed.

However, the next day, someone visited the Phoenix and Dragon Dojo. This was surprising, because after Zi Han, this was the first time someone had come to the dojo. As such, Lin Huang was very curious to know who it was.

Lin Huang had been coming out from the library when he saw an extremely beautiful girl sitting directly opposite to Master, serving tea.

Realizing the significance of the scene in front of him, a stunned look appeared in Lin Huang's eyes.
