Lando didn't answer right away. His fingers stilled on the keyboard, and for a moment, the only sound in the room was the faint hum of his computer. Slowly, he leaned back in his chair, his eyes lifting to meet mine.
"I can't answer something that has no logic to it," he began slowly. "Maybe it can, maybe it can't. But one thing I can promise you is that I will respect you as my wife, and won't bring another woman into our relationship."
I raised an eyebrow, a little confused. "Why?"
Lando sighed. "Because being tangled up with too many women only brings trouble later on."
Both Lando or Helcia were the products of infidelity, so he was probably traumatized by it as well.
"But that only applies to me. As for you … I'm not forbidding you from seeing other men."
I opened my mouth to respond, but Lando spoke again before I could. "Still, I wouldn't recommend it."
