In the office, Samantha sat on the sofa, her face flushed crimson.
Her hand instinctively drifted to her abdomen, while her eyes burned with a feverish redness.
"Drake, I've explained it to you so many times.
How can you still not believe me?"
Drake kept his head down, focused on reviewing documents.
He didn't even glance up, his voice cold and detached.

Furious, Samantha shot to her feet and strode over to his desk.
Her lips trembled as she spoke, each word deliberate.

I know you never wanted to be with me, so this scandal must be exactly what you hoped for.
Did you think I wouldn't realize that the media wouldn't dare run such stories without your permission?"
