Beauty's words left Susan stunned for a moment.
Her eyes reddened, and she bit down hard on her pink lips, not daring to meet Lucas's gaze any longer.
"Is that true?
Was it you who drugged Beauty's water that day?"
Lucas's cold eyes fixed on her, sharp enough to pierce through her defenses.
"I really didn't do it!
I don't even know her—why would I want to harm her when we have no grudges between us?"
Susan firmly denied any involvement, insisting she hadn't tampered with Beauty's drink.
After all, it had happened so long ago—even if Lucas wanted to investigate, there'd be no trail to follow.
Laura breathed an inward sigh of relief.
Her biggest fear had been that this pampered young lady would crack under pressure and confess everything.
To her surprise, the girl held her ground.
As long as Susan refused to admit it, the blame couldn't possibly fall on Laura herself.
