"You called for me." I said to my parents as I stood at the entrance of their room.
Father adjusted his robe and motioned for me to enter the room.
"I'm getting older." He announced, rubbing his slightly wrinkled forehead. We were close enough for me to notice the dark bags underneath his eyes.
"I'm sure your mother told you about everything yesterday. How I need to hand over my alpha position to an heir."
"She did, and she also mentioned that I'm not that heir." I said in a plain tone.
"Your father has met with the best shaman in town. The shaman would try his best to get your wolf back, but if it doesn't work, we have no other choice." Mother chipped in.
"I can rule without a wolf. I received the blessings of the guardians. I'm a seer."
I heard a gasp escape my mother's lips, while father wore a puzzled look on his face. My breath hitched in my throat and I wondered if I had said something bad.
"You got your ability, and you're a seer?" Mother asked.
"Yes."
