After the Ice Lord shattered the Covenant Beast into millions of pieces, it reformed once more and struck the Ice Lord with its tentacle. The Ice Lord was thrown back and struggled to regain his balance, which he managed with difficulty. The Beast did not wait a second and tried to strike the Ice Lord again. The Ice Lord used his power and summoned ice clones to distract the Beast, then attacked it himself. But this time, he stood on its head.
"I know I cannot defeat you, but I will fulfill my second mission as I promised Alexander: to tame you."
The Ice Lord cut his hand, and drops of blood trickled onto the Beast. He activated his power, but instead of attacking, he entered the Beast's consciousness.
In an area covered in thick mist, there was nothing. Seconds passed until the mist finally cleared. The Ice Lord looked down at his feet and found he was floating in the sky. A figure with an octopus head stood before him.
"O you who have come to write in the Covenant Document, and whose wish will also be written in the last place it exists, what is your wish?" the octopus-headed figure spoke.
The Ice Lord looked at him. "So you are the Covenant Beast, the guardian of the Document. My wish is that you do not awaken until the Chosen One arrives."
"You speak of the Chosen One? I do not know what is wrong with you humans, rushing toward your own destruction. The Chosen One will beat the drums of the Great War that will annihilate you and all those with you. Do you long for death?"
"No. But until he comes, I do not want you to wake up."
"Listen, human. You, I, and everyone are a pre-made loop, and the events are written, but do not rush them. We are the safety lock to prevent that disaster from launching. By your words, you intend to give that person the first step, because when the Chosen One destroys the seven Covenants and fourteen Shields, chaos will erupt. The world will pass through things that the mind cannot imagine. Therefore, I refuse."
"You refuse? Are you afraid of death?"
"Not just me; everyone will fear it, even you shiver within as you hear it. His name is the Shield Breaker, and you know what that means. Time is passing quickly, and a person will come who will shatter the world's rules and build a new world. Either it will be prosperous, or blood will fill the earth. So, human, ask for something else."
The Ice Lord thought deeply, then decided. "Then I must change. Your covenant is to protect both sides, but you have only protected them, and because of that, a young girl paid the price. I am not promising everyone's life of everyone. Both sides are my responsibility. Just as I killed the girl, they killed five hundred of them. But they only killed one person, the girl, and the rest are alive. Do the lives of that girl and everyone who almost died compare to those demons?"
The Covenant Beast smiled. "You call them demons? Then as you wish, but I will continue to protect both parties. So, what is your wish?"
"Then I must change my wish," the Ice Lord requested.
The Ice Lord stated his wish. The Covenant Beast placed the wish on a strange scale. "So, you have wished. Now for the hard part. If you want this pact to be fulfilled, you must defeat me. If you fail, forget about writing in the charter, and you will die. Also, you do not have much time, as your body will not last for more than ten minutes. Can you do it? Then we have no time to waste. Let us begin."
The Covenant Beast used his power and created a staff of ice. The Ice Lord gripped his sword, and in a flash, they both attacked at the same time with swift strikes. The Beast harnessed the power of ice to create blades, grasped them, and hurled them at the Ice Lord. The Ice Lord dodged them, but as he focused on the blades, he found a staff extending toward him, pushing him away. Then he saw the Beast above him, about to strike. He changed his direction with ice power and evaded the blow. He then used his power to activate the ice he had placed on the ground, which formed a cage that trapped the Covenant Beast.
The Covenant Beast smashed the cage, but found the Ice Lord right in front of him. The Ice Lord kicked the Beast, then drew his sword and released a cloud of ice dust. The Beast stood in the dust and found a wound on its hand. When? Before he could be surprised, he saw the Ice Lord sheathing his sword.
"Have you surrendered?" the Beast spoke.
The Ice Lord replied, "The power of ice blades." The Beast then realized there were pieces of ice inside him, and blades launched, tearing the Beast internally.
The Beast smiled. "You win, Ice Lord. I will fulfill that request in the Covenant Document."
The Ice Lord was partially evaporating. Before his departure, he asked the Covenant Beast, "How much of your power did you use?"
The Beast smiled. "What? That power is reserved for someone else already."
The Ice Lord smiled. "So, you are the same."
The Ice Lord regained consciousness and found himself at the bottom of the ocean, feeling like he was suffocating. He rushed to the surface. He found the surface covered in ice, which he shattered to get out, and he breathed with difficulty.
As for the villages, all the Ice Knights gathered. Volak spoke, "Thank God you are all safe."
Julian spoke, "This is all thanks to Rose. She is the real hero."
Iris spoke, "But wasn't the last power we felt stronger than the first one?"
"Yes, Harold felt that too," Volak said, becoming worried.
Volak feared for them, so he urged them to hurry to Rose. All the villagers followed them because they, too, were afraid for Rose
