Chapter 11 - Cullens

[coffee jelly]

[description: a very delicious dessert from the world of Saiki Kusuo no Psi-nan. Each serving weighs 200g. Note: contains 100 units.]

[Price: 10SP]

Mark remembered how much he enjoyed watching the anime Saiki Kusuo no Psi-nan, and one of the things that caught his attention back then was that Saiki himself, the protagonist of the anime, loved eating coffee jelly. Later, he researched what kind of dessert it was.

Mark eventually discovered that coffee jelly is a very popular dessert in Japan, especially on hot days.

"I didn't expect to find this in the store. I remember it was something I really wanted to try back then," Mark murmured.

After thinking for a bit, he decided to make a purchase to test the waters.

Soon, Mark saw in his inventory: [Coffee Jelly (100 units)].

Mark took one serving from the inventory, and when he saw the appearance of the coffee jelly in his hands, his eyes lit up.

The coffee jelly was served in a glass goblet-shaped container. On top, there was a fresh layer of whipped cream, and a cherry sat above it.

Mark looked at the amount in his hands and found it reasonable. He brought the coffee jelly close to his nose and sniffed.

As the scent entered his nostrils, Mark felt his taste buds awaken.

"Now I just need to find out if this thing tastes good."

Saying that, Mark got up and went to the kitchen to grab a spoon to taste his coffee jelly.

After grabbing the spoon, Mark took a piece of the jelly and put it in his mouth. Immediately, a sweet and smooth flavor emerged.

The aroma of coffee gave a strong stimulation, and Mark took another bite. In less than five minutes, all that remained was an empty container.

Mark sighed with satisfaction and murmured, "I never thought I'd fulfill my dream of tasting something I could only see in anime."

Whenever he saw the exaggerated expressions of anime characters when it came to food from their country, Mark always felt the authors were glorifying things and that it wasn't really that good.

Mark even wondered if there was something mysterious behind why coffee jelly tasted so delicious.

At that moment, Mark looked at the time and saw it was already quite late.

Mark took two coffee jellies and placed them in the fridge so his father could try them in the morning when he arrived.

With a satisfied nod, Mark returned to his room and had a very pleasant night.

When the alarm rang in the morning, Mark got up and dressed to go to school, but before that, he planned to have breakfast.

"Dad still hasn't arrived?"

Mark didn't see his father and went to his room, noticing that he still hadn't returned from work.

Mark went back to the kitchen and prepared breakfast for himself. After eating, he headed to school.

When he arrived in the classroom, Mark noticed that Edythe hadn't arrived yet, and he let out a sigh of relief.

Mark felt nervous. He wanted to apologize to Edythe for how he behaved yesterday, but didn't know how to do it.

After sitting in his seat, Mark picked up his math book and pretended to read, but stayed alert to see when Edythe would arrive.

Unfortunately, Edythe ended up missing class that day.

In the afternoon, Mark gathered courage and went to the Cullens' house to ask about Edythe.

Edward was the one who answered him, saying that Edythe wasn't feeling well and stayed home to rest.

Although Mark knew it was a lie, he didn't know why she had missed class. He simply left a few words wishing her well, turned around, and left.

Edward watched Mark leave and no one knew what he was thinking at that moment, when a female voice reached his ears.

"Is Edythe really interested in that boy? Besides being handsome, I don't see anything special about him," Rosalie said.

"I didn't notice anything special either, but he seems pretty strong for a human," Emmet commented.

As Mark approached, Emmet noticed that beneath the clothes Mark wore, he hid a muscular body.

"But there's something wrong with him. Besides the fact that we can't smell him," Jasper said, looking at everyone before continuing, "I also don't feel any emotion coming from him. It's like he doesn't have any. It's very strange."

"I've also never had a vision about him," Alice added.

"Anyway, let's keep an eye on him for now. Edythe went out last night and we still don't know when she'll return," Jasper said.

Yesterday, before she left, Jasper felt some negative emotions coming from Edythe, which was very unpleasant for him.

"Yesterday, it seems the two had some kind of fight, which is very strange since they've only known each other for a few days," Edward, who had been silent all this time, finally spoke.

Everyone looked at Edward and then at Mark, who was with Eric, Mike, and other people.

"From what you said, it seems she has genuine interest in Mark," Alice commented happily.

All these years, she had never seen Edythe interested in anyone, and now, knowing her friend was into someone, made her excited.

It's a shame I can't know if they'll end up together, Alice thought to herself.

She had always trusted her precognition to know someone's future, and not being able to see Mark and Edythe's future made her a bit uncomfortable.

...

(I'm not sure if coffee jelly is a very popular dessert in Japan; I just wrote what I found in the first result of an internet search. I don't know if the chapter turned out well.

'm trying to slow down the pace of the story to make it more engaging for you. Has anyone ever watched the movie In Time?

How about making that the first universe our MC visits? Anyway, see you next time!)
