Chapter 98 - Grim Truth

"Yeah," he said. "Sure."

To Blue's surprise, Conroy pushed Tammy away. The waitress yelped as she tripped over a fallen chair. With a glance at Blue, she straightened up and scrambled toward the front entrance, yanking open the double doors and screaming as she ran into the parking lot. Blue couldn't afford to look away from Conroy, but she figured Tammy would tell law enforcement the grim truth about what was happening inside the Game Night Bar & Grill. 

"Drop the gun, Neil. Slide it toward me."

"I have a better idea." He lifted the Glock. "How about I kill you instead?"

Blue squeezed the shotgun's trigger. The KSG boomed, jerking against her as the shell exploded into Conroy's right knee. Bone shattered and blood sprayed. Her ears rang from the concussion of the shotgun's report.
