The energy reversed, pulled back out of him and into the spatial loop the system had created. Instead of overwhelming him, it began circulating in a holding pattern, waiting for the second anchor point.
Waiting for Lianhua.
Cang pulled his hand away from the dragon bone, breathing hard. Even that brief contact had been almost too much.
But now the formation was active. He could feel it—a ghostly circuit hovering in the spiritual dimension, ready to channel power the moment he completed the connection.
He waded back to shore and returned to where Lianhua was sleeping.
She looked peaceful. Innocent, even, despite everything they'd done. Her fox ears twitched in sleep, tail curled around her body protectively.
He was about to violate her ass while using her as a spiritual battery to absorb a dragon's power.
And she would thank him for it, thinking he was her beloved husband returned from death.
The irony was almost poetic.
