Chapter 84: Calls, Concerns, and a Kitchen Confession
Month: Late October 2002
The day after his unexpected entry into the WWE world, Holmes woke up to a barrage of phone calls.
Calls from Friends:
- Juice: "Yo, Holmes! You crazy! You really went after The Rock!"
Realistic Conversation:
"You gotta be careful, man. He's a pro. He'll break you in half!"
- Teddy: "Holmes, what were you thinking? This is wrestling, not a rap battle!"
Realistic Conversation:
"Seriously, be careful. I don't want to see you get hurt."
- Diddy: "Holmes, my man! That was some great publicity! But watch yourself. The Rock is no joke."
Realistic Conversation:
"You got this, but stay focused!"
Serene's Call:
The call that mattered most came from Serene.
- The Conversation: Serene's voice was filled with worry.
Realistic Conversation:
- Serene said, "Holmes, I saw the news. Are you okay? What were you thinking?"
- Holmes replied, "Hey, Serene. I'm fine. I just lost my cool for a second."
- Serene, "A second? You jumped into a wrestling ring with The Rock! That's more than a second!"
- Holmes chuckled, "I know, I know. I just wanted to let you know I'm okay, and... I was wondering if you were free tonight."
- Serene paused. "What did you have in mind?"
- Holmes, "I was thinking I could cook you dinner. At my place
."
- Serene, surprised, "You cook?"
- Holmes laughed, "Yeah, I can whip up a few things. What do you say?"
- Serene, "Okay, Holmes. I'll come over. But be careful, okay?"
- Holmes, "I promise. See you tonight."
Romantic Home-Cooked Dinner:
That evening, Serene arrived at Holmes's mansion. To her surprise, Holmes was in the kitchen, wearing an apron, stirring a pot.
- Atmosphere: Soft lighting, candles, and romantic music set the mood.
- The Meal: Holmes had prepared a simple but elegant Italian dinner: spaghetti carbonara, garlic bread, and a bottle of red wine.
- No Maid: The staff had the night off, it was just the two of them.
As they ate, they talked about everything and nothing. Holmes shared stories from his childhood, and Serene spoke about her dreams of becoming a photographer.
The Confession:
After dinner, as they sat on the couch, Holmes turned to Serene, his eyes full of sincerity.
Realistic Conversation:
- Holmes said, "Serene, I've really enjoyed getting to know you. You're different from anyone I've ever met."
- Serene blushed, "I've enjoyed getting to know you too, Holmes."
- Holmes leaned closer. "How do you feel about me, Serene?"
- Serene hesitated. "I... I like you a lot, Holmes. But..."
- Holmes, "But what?"
- Serene, "It's just... you're Holmes. You're a celebrity. I hear stories about celebrities all the time. I'm just worried you're going to play with my feelings. I don't know if I can handle that."
Holmes took her hand.
Realistic Conversation:
- Holmes said, "Serene, I understand your concern. I know I have a reputation. But I promise you, I'm not like that. I'm serious about you. I want to be with you. I want to see where
this goes."
- Serene looked into his eyes, searching for the truth.
- Holmes, "I wouldn't risk that Serene, I'm willing to risk it all to be with you.
Seeing the sincerity in his eyes, Serene leaned in and kissed him. It was a passionate kiss, filled with emotion and desire. As they broke apart, Serene whispered,
Realistic Conversation:
- Serene: "Okay, Holmes, yes I will be your girlfriend. I hope this works."
As the chapter ends, Holmes had never felt this way before. Serene was everything he had ever wanted in a woman—beautiful, intelligent, and genuine. He knew that their relationship would face challenges, but he was determined to make it work.
