Chapter 15 - Chapter Fifteen

The night fell as the moon glowered its silver glow on the earth. The silvery light reflecting off from glass panes of the carriage.

Soren yawned. He can't sleep. Marryanne's head rested on Cyrus's thigh. Cyrus's cloak covered her body like a blanket and Cyrus's head ended up on Soren's shoulder. Both of their eyes were closed in deep sleep. The twins Ray and Jay are passed out on the other seat of the carriage, their bodies covered with Soren's cloak.

The carriage had stopped moving for the night. The stars gleamed, they twinkled in the night. Soren shifted a little bit. Carefully getting out from under Cyrus's head and laying him gently against the side of the carriage. He stepped out of the carriage. His feet landed on the grass below, crunching beneath his feet. It was dark at night, though a sense of tranquility swarmed warmly in his chest.

Soren thought he had forgotten to breathe properly. The cold night air hit his skin. He inhaled, cold air filling his lungs, cooling the insides of his body. He exhaled the air out. He walked a few feet away from the carriage, the grass beneath his feet cracked as he walked. He sat on the grassy grounds. Wet. The grasses were wet from the dew drops that might have formed on the leaves.

Soren just stared at the twinkling stars. He closed his eyes for a moment to think about things. But before he could get deep into his thoughts. The carriage door opened and an all too familiar voice called.

"Soren?"

Soren turned around. Of course to distribute his peace it's his moral dilemma. Cyrus. "You aren't sleeping? Did I wake you up?"

Cyrus exhaled a breath out, "yes, you did."

Soren pushed down the urge to roll his eyes. Cyrus sat down next to Soren. Both of them didn't talk. They just stared at the stars.

Cyrus glanced at Soren without turning his head fully towards him. And something about the light of the moon reflecting on him made Cyrus's heart unsteadily race. He sucked in a breath. He can't feel these things for someone like Soren, right? No, no he can't. But Soren really does look like a Prince under that moonlight. Something about the eyes, the long lashes. No. Cyrus turned away from Soren with a racing heart before his mind started spiralling again.

"Sunshine?" Soren looked at Cyrus, those blue eyes sparkling, re-igniting the flames in Cyrus's heart, "Did you notice the pattern?"

Cyrus looked at Soren and slightly tilted his head, "What pattern?" He looked confused.

"Whoever has touched the sick has gotten sick next."

Cyrus tried to make sense of Soren's words. But… then it clicked. "So," He said also matching the patterns, "Maelis had physical contact with Levi, Yvonne and Maelis were together and Fallon got sick after he had worked hard to stabilize Levi…" his eyes widened, he sharply turned towards Soren, "that means this sickness or curse can pass through…"

Soren nodded, "touch." He then looked back at the carriage, "that means Marryanne or the twins could be infected… or worst case you."

Cyrus jerked at the thought, "that means we have to find this wizard as soon as possible."

Soren nodded looking up at the stars again. The determination burned through their veins.

Dark would be an understatement. It's pitch black. It's cold. Cyrus looked down at himself. No wonder he feels so cold. He doesn't have clothing on. But the only warmth he feels is coming from behind him as a sweet, deep voice calls him from behind.

"Sunshine." The voice is soothing as pale pairs of hands grab him from behind, "I was looking for you everywhere." Cyrus's back was pulled against a chest, a warm chest. Cyrus gathered and found new information from that feeling that Soren does not have a shirt on.

"Ah." He almost yelped, feeling the sudden warm hands wrapped around him, "What are you doing, you- ah!"

Cyrus felt warm lips against the back of his neck which made him yelp in surprise. At least Cyrus can still feel pants on Soren. "W- What are you doing?" Cyrus Hayes the stutter that had escaped his mouth. He took a deep breath in.

He felt Soren grin against his neck. "I'm doing something to you… but whatever I'm doing…" Soren's voice lowered, "it's getting you worked up already." Cyrus felt warm breath fanning on his skin.

Soren' fingers grazed ever so slightly on Cyrus's nubs. It made Cyrus shiver voluntarily as a chill ran down his spine, "damn it." Cyrus cursed under his breath.

"Mnm." Soren groaned, Cyrus could feel the rumble in Soren's chest. Soren is more slender than Cyrus. He doesn't have a wide chest. "You are too adorable not to tease, Sunshine."

Cyrus shivered not from the cold but from something much more primal and needy. "Soren…" he gasped as the hands tightened around him.

Soren leaned into Cyrus's ear, "Wake up, Sunshine!" The voice sounded more deep, more real.

Cyrus's eyes flew open. Soren was shaking him, "What?" Cyrus groaned, sitting up straight in the carriage. Sunlight spilled through the glass panes of the carriage.

He looked around. They were in the carriage, the difference. Marryanne and the twins were awake, the three of them eating a cream bun. The gates were open and the coachman was talking with someone.

"We are here." Soren helped Cyrus get down from the carriage along with Marryanne and the twins.

The person who was the coachman was talking to came to greet them, "good morning." He has a softer voice. His hair cascaded down like molten silver. Eyes crystal blue.

"I would be the wizard you two are looking for."
