"The worst part is, he did that shit two days ago. He hid it!" she continued. "And I swear, I woke up one night and felt something walking on me."

I raised an eyebrow.

"I thought it was my hair or something, so I just shrugged it off and went back to sleep. But now?" She shuddered. "Oh my god, Evan."

"Yeah, that would've been enough to make me move out."

"I almost did."

"Were there ants in your apartment?"

"Ants, some other bugs, I don't even know what half of them were." She rubbed her arms as if she could still feel something crawling on them. "The pest control guy said they were going to check every apartment because they didn't know how far everything had spread."

"That sounds like a nightmare."

"It was. I spent half the morning checking my clothes because I was convinced something was hiding inside them."

I nodded sympathetically.

"Scared of bugs?" I asked.

"Who isn't?"

"Fair point."

She looked toward the massive windows, then back at me.
