Chapter 109 - Tomorrow Isn’t So Far Away

Ren took my hand without thinking this time, pulling me toward the entrance. "We're disguised. We're on a date. And I want to ride something stupid."

 

I snorted. "You?"

 

"Especially me."

 

We bought tickets, ducking under the gate with hearts racing and smiles hidden behind masks.

 

Inside, the world felt louder, brighter, younger. Music blared. Children ran past with cotton candy. The smell of sugar and popcorn filled the air.

 

Ren dragged me straight to the rides.

 

The first was fast and ridiculous, spinning us until I was laughing despite myself, gripping his arm as the world blurred. The second left my legs shaking. The third had us screaming—not in fear, but in pure, reckless joy.

 

At one point, I realized my mask had slipped down slightly.

 

Ren noticed immediately, reaching up to adjust it, fingers brushing my cheek. "Careful," he murmured.

 

I nodded, breathless. "You're the one who dragged me here."

 

"And I regret nothing."
