Chapter 7 - chapter 6: the love and the future

—Adam's POV—

Adam returned to the quiet vacation house, carrying the unconscious and battered Himeko in his arms. Her breathing was shallow, but still steady.

Medici immediately rushed forward, his eyes fixed on her condition, worry radiating from his every word.

"Is she okay, Adam?"

The urgency in his voice made it sound as though he and Himeko were already lovers, though they were not.

You've fallen too far, Angel of War, Adam thought, hearing that tone. Still, he answered gently,

"She's alive. But the core inside her was already extracted by the Void Herrscher."

Medici let out a long sigh of relief. Mordret, however, looked on with confusion, his brow raised. Why was Medici so concerned for a woman he'd never met before?

He must be in love with her, the Expert personality inside Mordret muttered with certainty.

"Ohhh… so that's why," Mordret chuckled to himself, already scheming the pranks he could pull on Medici later.

The tense atmosphere slowly eased inside the house, though the shadows of battle still lingered.

—Amon's POV—

Far away, in the mountains, Amon pushed open the door of another secluded house.

—Amon's POV—

Far away, in the mountains, Amon pushed open the door of another secluded house.

Inside, a child with white hair tipped in pink spotted him and immediately brightened.

"Uncle Amon, it's nice to meet you!"

Amon's normally calm expression softened as he strode forward, scooping the boy up with a rare warmth.

"Oh, if it isn't little Cale. Are you doing well these days, boy?"

Hearing the exchange, a woman with long pink hair stepped into the room, her smile both kind and nostalgic.

"It's nice to see you again, Amon. We haven't met in five years."

She stopped just before him, eyes lingering for a moment. Then another presence entered — a man, calm yet imposing, who greeted him with a steady voice.

"Oi, Amon. It's been a while. Good to see you once more."

Amon chuckled, still carrying Cale.

"Oh, hey Kalpas, Sakura. It's nice to meet you both again. I'm here to tell you something."

Kalpas gave him a sideways glance, suspicion clear in his voice as he sat down on the sofa and patted the spot beside him for Sakura.

"What is it, Amon? You're not the type to visit someone without reason. You'll either pull a prank… or bring important information."

Sakura quietly sat next to him as Amon set little Cale down. The boy immediately ran to his parents, leaving the three adults facing one another.

"The Second Herrscher has already descended once more," Amon said nonchalantly, taking a seat opposite them.

"Oh, that six-cored Herrscher again," Sakura muttered.

"Yeah," Amon answered with a grin, "but this time he only has the Void Core and flames, I think."

Kalpas leaned forward, eyes narrowing.

"So why are you here exactly? I know you wouldn't come all the way here just to say this."

Amon's grin widened as he leaned in.

"The future looks so bright these days. But inside that brightness… there's a looming disaster."

His tone was playful, but the weight behind his words couldn't be ignored.

"In short, the future is going to be chaotic," Sakura concluded softly.

Amon nodded, still smiling, but in his eyes flickered the reflection of storms yet to come

—Omni POV—

Three months had passed since the disaster of the Second Herrscher's descent.

The world had seemingly stabilized, thanks to Schicksal and Anti-Entropy working together to suppress the spread of information. Any trace of the battlefield where the Herrscher of the Void had unleashed destruction was wiped clean. Entire divisions of both organizations were erased in the clash, yet to the public, nothing had happened at all.

At the top of a lonely skyscraper sat four figures, watching the new age quietly unfold.

One had mirror-like eyes that reflected all things.

Another had long red hair flowing down his waist.

Beside him sat a red-haired woman, strikingly beautiful, her gaze firm.

The last was a young man with golden hair and sharp green eyes, his attention fixed on the battlefield below where Kiana fought against swarms of Honkai beasts.

"The story has been progressing nicely," Adam murmured, eyes tracing the girl who carried the weight of Finality within her.

"I'm still saddened by the fact that Kiana has to go through all of this," Himeko whispered, her voice heavy with quiet grief.

"This is her trial, Miss Himeko," came a calm, expert voice — Mordret speaking with certainty.

Adam nodded. "Expert Mordret is right. Kiana has a great future ahead of her. To endure it… she must first endure these trials."

Below, Fu Hua suddenly appeared beside Kiana, her presence steady and protective. Her sharp eyes lifted toward the skyscraper where the four sat, a subtle flicker of suspicion in her expression. She sensed something.

But she saw nothing.

For Adam had already concealed them from the world, rewriting reality itself with the Trunsoest Brass Book — a single rule scrawled across its golden pages ensuring that no one could see them.
