Soraya's POV
"Fred, what did you just say?" Jenny asked, eyes bulging.
Fred looked confused for a moment, then shrugged. "I said I heard the palace wants to employ new staff because of the prince's return. You said you needed money, so… I thought you should know."
Jenny gasped so loudly I thought she'd choke. "And you're just telling me now?!"
"Well… I'm telling you now," Fred said, still typing on his phone.
Before I could blink, Jenny grabbed my hand and dragged me out of the supermarket.
"Jenny! What are you doing?" I tried pulling my hand back, but she was already marching ahead like a possessed person.
"This is a big opportunity, Maria! We can't miss it!"
I stared at her. "How exactly is working in the palace a big opportunity?"
She gave me that look she always gives when she thinks she's being smart. "Come on, Maria. Do you know how much they'll pay us if we work there—"
